Blitz now traversed the massive town alone and on foot. Having had a better and more personal look at it. It somehow resembled the towns of those historic movies that he'd often watch before he found more favorable hobbies. The buildings were simply made out of stone and wood like those of the sword and knight movies.
The clothing of the citizens also varied from one another. Some possessed tunics and woolen clothing. Whilst some possessed more luxurious and colorful clothing that made them stood out from the rest.
So, those are either noblemen or gaudy merchants.
From the stories of what Weill told him, Blitz could very much guess that the nobility was the ruling elite of the kingdom. Depending on the circumstances, they sometimes had more authority than the monarch.
He didn’t want to compare it to what was back on earth, but there were similarities. The only difference was that this world incorporated fantasy elements and possessed more of a relapse in technology.
Hoo… maybe I should’ve asked for money from Weill…
The thought crossed Blitz’s mind as he knew more of Weill’s more professional background. While he possessed some of [Envisioned Fantasy’s] Gold and Diamond currency. He didn’t know if it was acceptable, nor comparable to the currency of this world.
The symbols and inscriptions of [Envisioned Fantasy]’s coinage could be different to those of this world. Of which, he could most likely guess that it’d end with him being jailed for possible counterfeiting.
I don’t want that… I’ll just have to do some manual labor then…
He remembered Weill stating that there was an Adventurer’s branch around the town’s west district— he proceeded to go there immediately. The day was still most likely in the afternoon, Blitz could make up around a few bucks in that time.
Simply put— he wasn’t called the “Demon Lord of Blitzing” for nothing.
He continued to walk through the crowded roads of the town. Filled with peddlers selling goods, citizens doing about their day, kids enjoying their youth. Just the ambience was significantly different to his city back on earth.
There isn’t even a speck of garbage in such a populated area?! Not even the government back in my world could properly clean up the plague of garbage on the roads.
Taking his time, Blitz continued to proceed towards the adventurer’s branch whilst admiring the scenic view. A joyous population in a simple world, not being disturbed by many national problems. It wasn’t like they’ll know it immediately; this world lacked the proper technology after all.
As he continued to walk, he started noticing that his path was somehow becoming more spacious. Rotating his eyes from underneath his armored helm’s visor. He noticed that the crowd was calmly dividing themselves as he continued, the corner of their eyes showing their piercing glares towards him.
What the…? I know my character stands-out, and I’m practically an outsider. But, don’t look at me like that.
Considering he possessed a [Humanoid Vessel] as his disguise, both in-game and accidentally in this world. He wanted it to look as perfect as possible, in other words— handsome face, clear complexion, and a buff body, not to mention its considerable height.
Additionally, he also wore what many could assume normal expensive armor. In actuality, it was a full-body jet-black armor series called the [Armor of the Fallen Titans], it gave its wearer insane defenses in both magic and physical attacks. It was supposed to be only worn by the [Warrior] classes and its variants. However, thanks to money and the cash-grab nature of the game. Blitz was able to buy a pass known as the [All Warrior Armor Pass]. It allowed armors that was only exclusive to the [Warrior] classes to be worn by other classes. Thus, making Blitz both a mage with tanking abilities.
Atop it, covering most of the armor, apart from the headgear, was the [Mantle of Odin]. Its appearance was that of a simple black cloak. However, it gave the wearer immense resistance against all forms of negative statuses, and debuffs given by magic-related attacks, additionally, it also restored mana at a set time— something that Blitz desperately needed upon maxing out his [Mage]-related classes.
“Is that fellow a knight?”
“Must be, that armor can’t even be bought in a normal blacksmith.”
“Do you think he’s a noble?”
“I think so, or maybe a member of an order, a very rich one at that too.”
Blitz heard the whispers of the masses, as much as they wanted to only whisper to their close friends. Blitz could hear them as if they were talking directly to him. He cared about his appearance, especially reputation in this new world.
I hope they don’t confuse me with someone… hopefully I look intimidating enough to not be disturbed.
Thanks to the crowd giving up space for Blitz, he easily was able to continue towards the west district of the town.
Upon reaching the west district, he noticed it had more of a different atmosphere than the district he earlier walked on. Replacing the normal-looking citizens were armored individuals, they were also armed with a distinct array of weaponry.
From what he could observe, most of them were walking in groups. Much more replicating thugs patrolling their controlled area. He continued walking through the broad pathways of the west district, following the so-called thugs.
Weill said that adventurers were like mercenaries. It should mean that they are armed like their more military-like counterparts.
Blitz assumed that the thugs, possessing an array of distinct weaponry and armor— were adventurers. He only heard the term mercenaries in the movies he watched, in those movies, they were always armed with weapons, whether inside populated or abandoned areas.
After following some of them, he soon found a building that was frequented by most of the adventurer groups. The building’s design wasn’t much of an eye-catcher apart from the signboard with an axe and sword resembling an X atop a shield. Presumably, it was also three-stories high, which was quite a small size for a branch office of adventurers.
Carefully, Blitz decided to wait and observe more groups who entered and exited the building. Although he looked suspicious, most of the armed men only glanced at him once and went their own ways.
“I expected the quest to be a little harder, not some large mouse.”
“Well, we got the reward that was equal to the difficulty. Kill the large rat living inside the man’s house. We did it, and we got the reward.”
“Easy for you to say, that beast took most of my arrows. Do you know how much those arrows cost?!”
“Whatever— we could always buy them again.”
Overhearing a group of 4 lightly-armored men exiting the building. Blitz then connected the dots involving their conversation and to what an adventurer’s guild was supposed to do according to Weill’s info.
I’m lucky… I Thought it was the mercenary guild… or something…
With evidence supporting his assumption. Blitz confidently walked towards the building and entered. Upon entrance, he was immediately greeted by a completely wooden interior, dominated by wooden tables and chairs.
Silently observing the building, Blitz noticed that most of the men minded their own businesses. They only gave occasional glances towards Blitz, but apart from that, there weren't any signs of hostility.
Good… At least they aren’t thugs that would attack any moment.
Blitz then headed straight to the counter that was across the entrance. It was manned by a beautiful lady in a uniform. Upon closer inspection, she had black hair that covered about her back, she wore a white dress covered by a black vest, probably also possessing a skirt but Blitz’s view was limited to confirm.
“Good Afternoon, Sir Knight.” She said with a smile, “How may I help you?”
“This is the Adventurer’s guild?” Blitz deepened his voice, which was then amplified by the [Armor of the Fallen Titan]’s headgear. Letting out a deep and intimidating voice.
“Yes?”
“I would like to register, is there a fee?”
It was a basic question having come from earth. Even simple registrations cost tons of dollars. Blitz didn’t have any expectation to receive freebies.
“That depends,” A shocking answer left the receptionist’s mouth, “Would you like to pay in advance, or would you like it to be deducted on your first reward. As for registration, all you need to do is complete a test to receive your adventurer’s ID and pick up a quest.”
“Then, I’d like for it to be deducted on my first reward.”
Blitz responded upon hearing this, though there may be some faults in this type of system. However, his worries soon disappeared upon glancing towards the side of the building, where he noticed that there were two bulletin boards. One of the boards contained plaques and written documents, presumably the quests. Whilst on the other board, were numerous papers with drawn faces of a number of individuals on it.

I think I already know what the second one’s for…
“Would you like to write your name? or are you illiterate.” The receptionist asked nicely, not judging based on appearances, another rare trait back on Earth.
“Thank you, I’m quite problematic with words. Can you please write?”
“Of course, Sir! Adventurers aren’t judged by their intellectual capabilities. They are only judged based on their skills in exploration, hunting, skinning, and more of a survivalist life.”
Once writing the important boxes with strange letters and symbols, she looked at Blitz and politely asked.
“Name and age, sir?”
“Blitz and…” There was a considerable amount of hesitation in his voice, either he tell his real age or a fake age. “...27 Years.”
“Alright then, Sir Blitz.” Upon writing the paper, she immediately hid it under her desk and handed Blitz a paper card, “This is a temporary Adventurer’s ID, since you still haven’t paid the necessary registration fee.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll pay it soon.”
“Alrighty.” She fixed her posture and then added, “As a test, each adventurer must kill and bring back around 3 beasts, a form of proof may be either the carcass of the creature or just the magic crystals. This may count as a first quest, and therefore you may receive your first reward.”
Blitz nodded his head in understanding, “Alright, I’ll be back with three beasts.”
“Safe adventuring, Sir.”
Blitz then turned around and left the building. He then proceeded to walk towards the main road and subsequently towards the city’s main gate. Upon reaching the gate, he was greeted by a familiar looking guard.
“Ah, Weill’s friend.” He waved his hand, letting Blitz’s know of his presence, “You’re leaving? It hasn’t been even a day yet. The sun’s just setting.”
Walking closer he casually replied, whilst accidentally taking out his temporary adventurer’s ID. “I’ll return soon, I just have to finish a test.”
“Oh!” The guard gave a shocked expression upon seeing the Adventurer’s ID, “You’re lucky, an Adventurer’s ID may count as a universal form of identification. Though, It doesn’t beat a passport or national ID in terms of prestige and access.”
“Really, now?”
Nice… though I think the ID Weill’s made for me was just a waste of money.
Giving his adventurer’s ID was only an accident, but to think it resulted in an advantageous result.
“Right then,” The guard looked at Blitz, “You already have something for identification. Even if it’s temporary. Good luck with the test, not like you’ll need it with your appearance.”
Parting ways with the unknown, but friendly guard. Blitz left the city and walked towards the nearby forest a walking distance away.
He didn't exactly know if the forest was the same one as where he was earlier trapped. The journey with Weill was long, and he didn't possess any abilities to accurately measure distance apart.
Meh… Whatever, I just need to kill some beasts anyway. I'll ask the important questions later. It's not like I can return back to earth.
"[Fragrance]!" Blitz yelled, directing the magic only with his hands as soon as he stepped onto the deep portion of the forest, secluded from the eyes of the many.
Normally he'd have a staff or something of the like whenever he channeled his magic. As possessing a staff, and using it to cast magic had benefits. However, that was in the game, currently, he was in real life.
He possessed his overpowered and broken avatar. It was only natural that he'd try to practice and personally master his abilities. If he was a loose screw, he could decimate a large part of the world. Back in the game, it was possible to decimate large portions of the game’s environment if you had an appropriate skill that could resemble real-life destruction.
—However, it was now different, very different.
Even from just the simple usage of magic, Blitz could clearly feel something being drained from within his body.
"I better be careful."
Blitz muttered as a pink mist exuded from a pink-hued magic circle that was just a few meters away from him continued to expand. It was the aggro-spell [Fragrance]. It was a spell that released a romantic and most likely intoxicating fragrance that was only breathable by monsters.
Whenever Blitz had alone time, or when his inbox wasn't flooded with duel requests. He would often farm for materials, either by doing NPC-given quests or through solo hunting monsters. One of the spells he used was [Fragrance]. It would aggro groups of monsters at a time— he would then respond by casting destructive AoE magic. It was an efficient hunting strat, as most players could only juggle around 5 level 80 beasts even at the impressive level of 100 or 110.
I think I should properly arm myself. I still haven't grasped the strength of the world, more so the average level. For all I could guess, humans are hella weak, if they had a hard time defeating a large sewage rat.
Subconsciously opening his inventory, which possessed the appearance of a black hole. He inserted his hand and immediately took out a small pouch. His inventory, while although large, still had a fixed number of slots. To use it efficiently, Blitz started using pouches and backpacks to store expendable or consumable items such as potions, currency, or anything of the like.
“I think this is it…?” Doubtfully asking himself, revealing a pouch from the black-hole, “I just thought of what pouch I wanted to take out. I don’t know if this is it though.”
He opened the pouch and was immediately greeted by a near limitless piece of storage. He could somewhat tell that there were around 50 potions at most. Doing what he did earlier, he thought of what he wanted to withdrew, in this case a poison potion.
Pulling out his hand, he was greeted by a hand-sized potion that was filled to the brim with a black liquid. Upon seeing it, Blitz nodded his head and gave a smile underneath his mask. He then took out another 3 of the same potions and subsequently returned the pouch to his black-hole of an inventory.
“Alright then.”
Hopefully, the poison doesn’t affect the trees…
Finally prepared and with time continuously passing, Blitz started hearing the sounds he wanted to hear. The crunches of branches and dried leaves being stepped on, along with heavy breathing from afar. Instinctively, he immediately threw the first potion towards a nearby tree.
“Gauuurrrhhh—!”
Immediately, the body of a four-legged creature appeared at the exact tree where Blitz threw his first potion. The timing was perfect, as soon as the potion erupted itself and freed the liquid it contained. The four-legged creature appeared, whose body was immediately showered by the poisonous black liquid— which promptly collapsed to the ground.
“Kakuakahuaakaahaa—!”
Blitz walked closer to inspect the creature, finding that the creature’s body twitched intensely, as if stricken with a seizure. In [Envisioned Fantasy], there wasn’t any animations of twitching, the monsters would just be affected with the [Poisoned] status and die at the fixed time— like a countdown.
“That… was unexpected… disgusting too…”
The four-legged beast, similar to that of a wolf, soon started foaming its mouth. It’s eyes trickling with a thick red liquid, whilst its body continued to intensely convulse. From what Blitz observed, while being no doctor, he could guess that the twitching would take a while.
“Garhahahahah—!”
“HOooOooOooO—!”
Then, below the cloak of the orange-dyed sky and behind the scenic forest whose extent was still unknown. Howls, growls and snarls soon rang out from the distance, its intensity slowly increasing as the seconds passed.
Well… I only need to kill three, But I think I might need extra money…
