Chapter 37: Estrilda Leegran

Estrilda held her massive axe inside of her hand before taking a few steps forward and in front of Takami.

"I'll handle him, don't worry about me. What you should be doing is getting back to your army!"

Takami could barely stand, having her bones feel as if it was turned to mush. The teacher laid there grunting as she tried to push herself off the ground.

"I can't... move my body..."

Estrilda heard Takami say this, making her turn around and then hold her hand under her chin.

"Breath of Jotunheim..."

Estrilda would pucker her lips to blow air right towards Takami. The air had the color of blue, with decorations of snowflakes as it gently landed upon Takami's entire body.

"What's that cold air?"

Takami asked. She felt her body surrounded by an icy chill, until her arms and legs could move again. The Kyoko was shocked at the display, feeling her entire body healed in a second or more.

"Incredible!"

Takami exclaimed. She proceeded to stand up to her feet and gripped her short sword once more.

"I thank you Giant. It is rare to see your kind here in Midgard. What is your name?"

"My name is Estrilda Leegran. I was once part of a mercenary group inside of my home realm, Jotunheim. I have experience in the field of battle, so please return back safely and let me handle him."

Takami nodded with a smirk.

"I see. Very well then, I won't trouble your battle. Thank you for saving me! The man you're fighting is very dangerous, his name is Nokitera, the dark commander of the dark nation."

Takami quickly ran back towards the war grounds, proceeding onwards with [Quick Step]. 

"I bid you farewell Giant!"

Takami shouted as she left the area in a hurry, and back to her students.

"Damn Giant... why out of all times must your kind be here inside of Midgard? How annoying!"

The sound of an overlayed and deep voice came from miles away as they shouted.

"...Haaaaaaa!!!" (Nokitera)

Rising from the rocks, and debris of the broken mountain was Nokitera. His body slowly levitated outside the mountain as an dark aura surrounded him. He yelled in irritation.

"IT SEEMS I'LL HAVE TO EVEN MURDER A GIANT! THIS WAR COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER! WHAT'S NEXT? A FAIRY AND AN ELF?" (Nokitera)

Estrilda smirked at his irritation.

"Heh. Maybe so? After all the group I came from is filled with different kind of races, and we all get along just fine." (Estrilda)

Her smirk seemed to grow. Estrilda held tightly onto her axe with both hands, and crouched herself, awaiting for their battle.

"Is that so? A group of all races helping Mesnil is fascinating. But it doesn't matter, we have an witch that can take care of such trivial matters." (Nokitera)

Nokitera would keep himself afloat with gravity magic, closing in Estrilda in the blink of an eye. 

"You'll be defeated by me Giant!" (Nokitera)

Estrilda's eyes widened.

"Fast!" (Estrilda)

She muttered under her voice, evading to the side. Nokitera missed his attack which was a straight forward thrust with his Halberd.

"So you're fast as well?" (Nokitera)

He asked, proceeding to spin around and slash with his Halberd. Estrilda managed to raise the handle of her Long-Axe and guarded the attack.

"...Seaa....!!" (Estrilda)

Estrilda then pushed away Nokitera with her strength alone, and punched him right into the body.

"...Guh....." (Nokitera)

His body flew backwards but he quickly recovered himself.

"....Taaa....!!!" (Nokitera)

He flew in once again as his dark aura flared around his body, however he vanished in front of Estrilda's view.

"Where did he go?" (Estrilda) 

The Giant looked around to be unable to pin-point him, until she looked above.

"It's over for you!" (Nokitera)

The Dark commander dove at Estrilda as he risen his halberd above his head, now cutting her way.

"I also got something for you!" (Estrilda)

She would raise her arm to block the incoming slash, however it was coated in ice.

"Your Halberd won't be able to bypass the ice of a Frost Giant!" (Estrilda)

"We'll see about that!!!"

He slashed his Halberd against the ice, not leaving a dent.

"What a fool! The ice of a Frost Giant hardens itself against any enemy, and matches their magical power level in terms of durability." (Estrilda)

She would then raise her long axe in one hand.

"Take this!" (Estrilda)

"LOGIC SLASH!" (Nokitera)

The sound of the ice around Estrilda's arm had suddenly shattered, cutting right through.

".....Kyaaaaa...!!!" (Estrilda)

Estrilda yelled in pain, noticing her entire arm was ripped clean off.

"Y-You bastard...." (Estrilda)

She looked at her arm and seen blood pouring from her wound.

"So your Ice of the frost Giant evolves itself to match the opponents level of power does it?" (Nokitera)

She glanced at him with an devilish frown.

"...How did you cut through it...?" (Estrilda)

"I destroyed the logic behind your pathetic ice. If it evolves to match the opponents strength, then I cut the logic behind it evolving to match the opponents strength. It's simple, and effective." (Nokitera)

"...Who would have such an ability? Are all Dark mages like this...?" (Estrilda)

Estrilda would nervously sweat.

"There's no need to worry Giant girl. It is only me who has the ability to destroy logic. My power is unmatched by all." (Nokitera)

Estrilda would hold her arm to the side.

"...Then I won't be able to use my Frost Giant ice again, right?"

He looked at her with an cackle.

"Kahaha! That's right, you have no chance of using it if I destroyed the logic of how it works!" (Nokitera)

Estrilda grinned.

"Too bad I'm immortal... and a giant" (Estrilda)

"What?" (Nokitera)

"...Fuuuu..." (Estrilda)

Estrilda exhaled as she held her decapitated arm to the side, regenerating it once more.

"An immortal? How is that possible? You're no ordinary Giant." (Nokitera)

Estrilda flexed her new set of fingers and moved around her newly regenerated arm.

"The kiss from a fairy, that's how I'm immortal. You can thank my master for that." (Estrilda)

Nokitera would grunt in annoyance.

"It's too bad I'll just slash away the logic of everything you possess." (Nokitera)

"Idiot, I'm a giant. Go ahead and try it then. Bring all you got against me." (Estrilda)

Nokitera would leap from the ground and spin his body around.

"I'll rip you to shreds!" (Nokitera)

Estrilda gripped her axe once more, hacking the weapon right towards Nokitera.

"....Guh....!" (Nokitera)

Nokitera was unable to react, feeling his body fly through multiple mountains in mere seconds to his point of view.

"...Impossible...?" (Nokitera)

Estrilda quickly followed behind him after hitting him, now leaping into the air.

"...Yaaaaah...!!" (Estrilda)

She soared her axe downwards, hitting it against his body.

"...Uwaaa...!!!" (Nokitera)

Nokitera yelled, unable to do anything to something he couldn't react to.

"...How...did you get... faster?" (Nokitera)

"The more you hit me, the stronger I grow. The more severe the wound, the more powerful I become." (Estrilda)

Nokitera widened his eyes.

"You may can destroy logic, but I won't let you pull it off." (Estrilda)

"...Damn you! Logic Slas—" (Nokitera)

Nokitera was stopped mid-sentence to feel his body kicked upwards from Estrilda as he flung into the sky.

"....Gaaaah....!!!" (Nokitera)

He lost the grip of his Halberd and was now flying pass the clouds.

"Now then, time to finish you off once and for all!" (Estrilda)

Estrilda would stab her axe into the ground and hold her hand into the sky, using her other hand to grip her wrist.

"VIMUR STREAM!" (Estrilda)

A magical circle formed in front of her palm and mana gathered in the center. A long stream of water shot up into the sky, freezing along the way as it traveled.

"...She's using the Vimur River, as a spell...? Is it truly over for me...?" (Nokitera)

The Dark Commander closed his eyes and was about to accept defeat.

"The Vimur River was the river where the jealous gods tried to drown Thor. Its fueled with overwhelming mana from Thor even touching the river... it can freeze even gods forever and leave them frozen for eternity. My Mana force will be sealed away in this ice... alongside me… If I do nothing." (Nokitera)

The Dark commander would finally recover mid-air and could look around him. He eventually looked down to notice the river stream coming his way.

"One last attack... I'll give her one last attack to prove how powerful I am!" (Nokitera)

He reached beside him to grip his Halberd.

"....Haaaaaaaa!!" (Nokitera)

Nokitera dove down and managed to evade the attack in the nick of time.

"YOU WONT DEFEAT ME SO EASILY, GIANT!" (Nokitera)

He would start spinning around, gaining momentum.

"LOGIC SLASH OF ONE THOUSAND FOLDS!"

He spun and spun, steady gaining momentum as thousand dark crescent slashes aimed towards Estrilda.

"...He's persistent!" (Estrilda)

She controlled the Vimur stream and made it follow Nokitera as he attacked her.

"I have to dodge..." (Estrilda)

She frowned at the crescent slashes coming her way, unable to dodge them in time.

"Damnit! I almost had him—" (Estrilda)

Estrilda tried to seal him in the ice before his attacks reached her, but it was too late. Multiple of the slashes hit right into Estrilda's body, shredding her like knife through butter. 

"I WONT BE BEATEN HERE!!!" (Nokitera)

He had looked up to see the Vimur stream above his head, now evading to the right once more.

"You'll be sealed away in your own Ice! This is goodbye!" (Nokitera)

The Vimur stream fell down upon Estrilda, coating her body in ice and sealing her away. She was now trapped, having Nokitera become victor of their battle.
