The Templar Knights traveled far and wide to war against the dragons, and now they watched their general fight a battle against the dragon head blocking their path. Siegfried took him head on, and managed to overpower the dragon, sending it back from his strength, and skill.

The battle was about to come to its end, however the dragon head found an opening, now releasing a wave of flames at the Templar Knights who followed behind Siegfried.

"Tsk. Damn Coward!" (Siegfried)

Siegfried had no choice but to protect his men from the flames of the dragon head. He quickly accelerated himself in front of the surge of flames, holding up Balmung for protection.

"….Seeaa…!!!" (Siegfried)

Siegfried swung his blade to slice apart the wave of flames, sending it away from his men.

"I have you now!" (Dragon Head)

The dragon head managed to trick Siegfried by forcing him to land on his feet. Multiple tendrils appeared from under the ground and wrapped around the Hero's ankle, sapping away his mana.

"…What?" (Siegfried)

Siegfried eyes widened as he coughed violently. His entire mana force felt like it was crumbling slowly.

"My mana force… it's… being consumed!" (Siegfried)

Siegfried fell to his knees as the branches around his ankle sapped away his mana and crumbled his mana force bit by bit.

"…You will not… take me… Dragon… not in front of my men!" (Siegfried)

"Sir Siegfried!" (Soldier)

Siegfried gripped his blade as he slowly stood up and yelled.

"….HAAAAAAA!!!" (Siegfried)

Siegfried raised Balmung high inside his hands as the branches around him were being decapitated.

"What?" (Dragon Head)

"Have a taste of your own magic, and stand out of our way!" (Siegfried)

Balmung managed to absorb the magic the dragon was using, now reflecting it back at him, increasing its capabilities by double once Siegfried swung the sturdy blade.

"…Impossible, what are you? Just what are you?!!" (Dragon Head)

"I AM SIEGFRIED, SLAYER OF DRAGONS!"

An wave of magic engulfed the dragon head, sapping away its mana and slowly crumbling its body into ash.

"…Good riddance." (Siegfried)

"YAAAAAAAYYY! WOOOOO!!!" (Soldiers)

The soldiers cheered on their leader Siegfried, shouting his name in respect.

"Fumu. Now we can move on without worry. That dragon I slayed was one of their guardians, and strongest guardian at that." (Siegfried)

Siegfried hung Balmung low inside his hand as they proceeded to march towards the Basilisk Kingdom.

The soldiers were heard stomping in their armored boots, and the terrain around them got even hotter from the magma under their feet.

"It's just up ahead, we're not that far away." (Galahallt)

As the soldiers marched, they all came to an stop, seeing a barrier in front of them.

"What's this? A barrier blocks our path?" (Soldier)

"Galahallt, do you know of this barrier?" (Siegfried)

Galahallt approached the barrier and inspected it with his blade by slowing pushing his weapon inside of it.

"…I see." (Galahallt)

Once his weapon infiltrated the barrier, it slowly started to vanish into thin air.

"It's law magic. This barrier is created by law magic that prevents anyone that's not a dragon to go inside. But that will be useless against the Templar Knights. All of us have pure mana forces, without any negative mana force. Law magic against pure mana forces is useless." (Galahallt)

Siegfried nodded his head in agreement.

"That's right. All of my men are pure to their core, they trained day and night, and even worship the ideal of good." (Siegfried)

Siegfried smirked as his titled down his head.

"It's an breath of fresh air leading such great men. I remember when I first killed Fafnir, and joined Vrunemir Kingdom. It's a time I would never forget. King Vrunemir and the people of Vrunemir are great people. At least they shown a lot of goodness when I was younger." (Siegfried)

Siegfried opened his eyes.

"But now you rarely see that. Could it be that the Ideal of Evil created by overlord is managing to take over… and is slowly consuming the people of Vrunemir?" (Siegfried)

Galahallt turned to face Siegfried with an worried expression.

The Ideal of evil was created by the blade Overlord which belonged to Hades himself. Reasons for pain, sadness, death, and despair originated from the Ideal of Evil, even negative mana forces comes from it. Long ago, people never had mana forces until the ideal of evil came into existence from Overlord.

The Ideal of good was created by people of Midgard themselves. Crafted and formed by the people of Midgard's collective unconscious, purposely creating it to counter the Ideal of evil and negative mana forces which was the first mana force everyone naturally had. Reasons for good, kindness, happiness, and even life originates from the Ideal of Good. The goddess of life "Eir" helped create the ideal of good by giving people of Midgard knowledge and steps to create such an abstract power.

The ideal of evil has existed before The ideal of good. It created the negative mana forces before pure mana forces were created by The ideal of good.

Naturally humans would have an higher negative mana force, but the Templar knights aren't like that. By them worshipping the ideal of good, they will never fall in the hands of evil.

"Let us break through." (Siegfried)

And by having pure mana forces, they could break through the law magic with relative ease. Every man walked through it as they continued onwards, marching to the doorstep of the kingdom.

"We're almost there! All men be on guard!" (Galahallt)

The Templar knights were nervous but they felt safe with Siegfried and Galahallt in the front lines. The dragons were powerful creatures, known for their destruction and reign of terror against the people of Midgard, and these men have yet to fight one.

"…Youuu humans infiltrate the Basilisk Kingdom, aware of the risks that will come your way. How dare you! Do you all have a death wish early? Do you want to be sent to your grave and rest with the dead for all eternity?" (???)

The soldiers all looked around confused, and on guard.

"Who are you? Show yourself dragon!" (Siegfried)

"Dragon? Hahahahaha! I am no dragon, I am simply an mage who created the law barrier around the kingdom for protection." (???)

"An mage working with the dragons? But why?" (Galahallt)

"…I am no ordinary mage. I am the greatest mage known in history, and I live here under Lord Jörmungandr's order." (???)

"If what you say is true mage, then bring yourself before me and do not speak in the shadows like a coward." (Siegfried)

Siegfried stepped forward, departing from his men.

"Fufufu~! It's been quite some time since I've shown myself you know? Perhaps I'll do it for the infamous Siegfried, slayer of dragons." (???)

Slowly appearing from underground and out from a black shadow appeared a hooded figure.

"Will you tell me your name? Or are you going to keep yourself hidden from me?" (Siegfried)

"Heh." (???)

They scoffed as they slowly removed the black hood over their head, revealing a woman. She had short black hair and a seductive look upon her face. She wore black eyeliner, and had a scar across her life eye.

"…Your appearance is familiar. Wait… could it be—?" (Siegfried)

"Well, you've figured it out quickly haven't you?" (???)

"The great mage… Merlin? The one who worked next to King Arthur, and guided him in his journey. What are you doing with the dragons? Have you turned your back against humanity?" (Siegfried)

"Yes. What you assumed is true, I long turned away from humanity, not associating myself with them ever again." (Merlin)

"Merlin? You mean The Merlin? How is this possible? Her whereabouts after King Arthur's death was never known. And yet here she is…" (Soldier)

The soldiers talked to each other as every one of them seemed confused.

"The most famous rumor is her committing suicide after King Arthur's death. Ever since King Arthur fell to the hands of Thor, Camelot was no more." (Soldier)

"Your men seems to be having fun with their theories." (Merlin)

Merlin crossed her arms as she smiled.

"Merlin, why have you done this? Why them? The dragons? What is the purpose of betraying your own kind?" (Siegfried)

Merlin's expression quickly changed into a frown.

"Why ask why? It should be obvious shouldn't it? Humanity, the most sinful race throughout all of Midgard. They commit heinous crimes and actions, either for power or greed. Do you know what happened after King Arthur's death?" (Siegfried)

Siegfried closed his eyes.

"No… I do not…" (Siegfried)

"The people in Camelot decided to do an Ouroboros duel… every… last… one of them. They all fought to be the next king of Camelot in these duels, seeking power over the throne. I wasn't gonna allow it. I couldn't…" (Merlin)

Merlin closed her eyes as she frowned even harder.

"I realized that the people of Camelot were the most greediest… and therefore I killed them all before one of them could win an Ouroboros duel, and claim the throne of Camelot." (Merlin)

Siegfried widened his eyes, in shock.

"You are the one who's done that? But the story goes that the gods were the ones who destroyed Camelot from their anger in losing Thor, and before they made peace with humanity." (Siegfried)

"Bahahaha! That is not true. There's so much you don't know Siegfried… but perhaps I can show you, if you give up your role as general of Vrunemir Kingdom, and join us." (Siegfried)

"…Merlin…" (Siegfried)
