Chapter 246 - He will be going on a date next week. (1)

Edited by: Lulu

Looking into Tong Xuelu’s eyes, Wen Rugui felt his heart itching again. As usual, he wasn’t able to scratch that itch. “Comrade Tong, what do you like to eat?”

Tong Xuelu had yet to answer before Pu Jianyi objected to the question. “That question is too simple! Ask a different one.”

Objection overruled.

Tong Xuelu said, “Ribs. Any kind of ribs.”

Wen Rugui silently committed that answer to memory.

Invisible pink bubbles floated in the air.

Finally, it was finally Pu Jianyi’s turn.

Pu Jianyi licked his lips and looked over at Tong Xuelu and Jiang Danhong. He had big plans.

He spun the bottle hard. The bottle spun madly before finally stopping at Tong Xuelu.

Pu Jianyi chuckled evilly. “Can I really ask any questions, Comrade Tong?”

Tong Xuelu nodded. “That’s correct.”

Pu Jianyi smiled again. “Comrade Tong, do you like Wen Rugui’s type?”

The living room went silent for a few seconds after he was done talking.

Pu Jianyi felt that Tong Xuelu would definitely be too shy to answer his question, so he would be able to enact his ‘revenge’ for the humiliation and pain he suffered from her earlier.

Lo and behold, Tong Xuelu wasn’t shy at all.

She nodded and said, “Definitely. Comrade Wen is good-looking, kind, and knowledgeable. He isn’t like your kind who loves to spout gibberish and look older than their real age. I trust that anyone with eyes would like someone as outstanding as him!”

Pu Jianyi, “………..”

Did he just come today to be abused?

Why did she have to drag him down in her response?

Most importantly, he did not look older than his age at all!

Anybody with eyes would like Wen Rugui. Was she saying that only the blind ones would fall for him?

BOOM! And Wen Rugui was blushing all over again. The corners of his mouth rose almost imperceptibly.

Jiang Danhong did not notice the pink bubbles between Tong Xuelu and Wen Rugui. She just thought about what Tong Xuelu had said and agreed with her wholeheartedly.

She felt that Wen Rugui was 100 times… No. 1,000 times better than Pu Jianyi.

For the remainder of the game, whether it be due to sheer coincidence or Pu Jianyi’s horrible luck, the bottle landed at him 6 out of 10 times.

By the end of the night, both of his palms were swollen.

It was a very unfortunate evening for Comrade Pu.

It was getting late, and the guests planned on going home after a few rounds of Truth and Dare.

Before they left, Tong Xuelu quickly handed the homemade mooncakes over for them to take home.

Pu Jianyi quickly noticed that something was off. Wen Rugui and Jiang Danhong each got 4, while he only got 2.

Touching the back of his teeth with his tongue, he asked her with a pained look, “Comrade Tong, why did I only get two? Are you just retaliating?”

Tong Xuelu wasn’t shy about admitting her bias. “That’s right. You had said the wrong thing earlier. Someone who has no respect for female comrades doesn’t deserve mooncakes at all. I wouldn’t even have given you two of them had it not been for the thermos!”

Pu Jianyi, “………….”

Alright. He asked for it. He would never say anything like that ever again!

Jiang Danhong gave Tong Xuelu an appreciative look, her heart feeling warm.

It was as though someone had given her a warm water bottle after exhaustingly walking alone during a cold, winter night.

Wen Rugui stood and looked at Tong Xuelu from one side. He didn’t say a word, but there was obvious pride in his eyes.

Someone as kind as her deserved all the best things under the sun.

As he was leaving, Wen Rugui walked slower and slower.

Tong Xuelu’s eyes rolled around before finally saying, “Wait a minute, Comrade Wen. I have something else for you.”

Although a little surprised at first, Wen Rugui quickly figured out what her intention was. He cleared his throat and said, “Jianyi, can you please see that Comrade Jiang gets home safely? It’s getting late, so don’t wait for me.”

Jiang Danhong lived in the opposite direction as Wen Rugui, so she didn’t say anything about that.

“Okay.”

Pu Jianyi gave Wen Rugui a look and had an inkling that there was something going on between the two.

However, since he had misspoken earlier, he dared not say anything else now.
