Two swordsmen clashed on an empty battlefield. The force generated by their collision generated torrents of shockwaves. The world itself seems to be trembling under their destructive power.

One of the swordsmen was a human male. He was wearing a set of blood-stained silver armor, and the helmet on his head made it difficult to see his features. He was wielding a long straight sword. And an eerie black Aura sparked from it with every swing.
The second swordsman was a ten feet tall demon. Black and red scales covered his body like indestructible armor. A chunk of black scales was missing from his right knee. He was limping with each step.

Black blood was dripping from his broken horn and knee. His rageful red eyes were glowing brightly under the sunlight. It looked like he was barely holding his ground while countering his challenger's attack with his large, broad black sword with jagged edges.
Before him, the human challenger looked like a toddler. But he was a toddler with absolute power. Each time their swords clashed, the demon would take a step back, unable to withstand the force of their clash.

They clashed for hours until the demon's broad jagged sword shattered as if it was made of glass. Strong waves of Aura and demonic energy swept over the battlefield. The human swordsman took this chance. He dashed forward and plunged his sword into the demon's heart. His black and red scales shattered as the ominous sword pierced through his heart.

"Kuggg!!!" Black blood gushed out of the demon's mouth and chest. The rage in his eyes disappeared, and he smiled painfully, "Hunggg!!!" He grabbed the human's wrist and plunged the sword deeper.

"Huh?"
The human was confused by the unexpected development. He wondered about the reason behind the sudden change in the demon's character. As a demon king, had he wanted, he could have easily escaped and replaced his heart with another by taking it from his kins. Instead, he chose to die.

"Why?" asked the human as he took out his sword from the demon's chest. Black blood spewed out like a fountain from the demon's chest. As a veteran warrior, he felt something was wrong. There is no way a demon king would just sacrifice his life for nothing.

"Argg!!! Finally..." The demon king mumbled with a grin.
The demon king stumbled back, grabbing his chest. But for some weird reason, he was still smiling and refused to fall to his knees. As a king of all demons, his pride won't allow him to kneel before some unknown human whose face is covered behind the armor. He wanted to see the face of the man who gave him the fight he had always yearned for.

However, before the human swordsman could take his helmet off his head and end the demon's life, he felt a piercing pain in his chest. He looked down and saw the tip of a blade dripping red with his blood, sticking out of his chest. He fell to his knees, confused and surprised.

"Tell me, human... I fought to protect my people, and so did you. But look at you... Kuggg!!!" said the demon king as his legs finally gave out, and he fell to his knees.

Now, the unknown human and the demon king are on their knees, facing each other. Both of them got a hole in their chest. The difference is that one received an honorable wound, whereas the other was stabbed by his comrades after a long battle. Both of them will die in a matter of minutes.

The human swordsman was too exhausted from the battle, and now, with the present injury, all he could do was sit there and wait for death. Had it been a few hours earlier, he could have easily survived the attack with his Aura. However, now that he is completely exhausted, death is all he can wait for.

"Human calls us demons... Kekeke!!! But I wonder, who is the real demon? Us, the underworld dwellers or your kind. You fought to save them, and look at you now... Your comrades betrayed you. Is this what humans call a warrior's honor?" scoffed the demon king with a painful expression. He had lost too much blood.

"Who?" a small whisper left the human swordsman's mouth. Since he can't move, he wants the demon king to tell him the identity of the one who stabbed him.

"Does it even matter?" asked the demon king. He continued, "Humanity tends to cut off things they cannot control. It's your overwhelming power that they fear. While we, the Devil race, respect that power. If it was the underworld, I would have crowned you the King of the Devils..."

"Why? I... sa...ved th.. the...m..." stuttered the human swordsman. His voice was slurry, and darkness was looming before his teary eyes. He still couldn't believe the ones he had fought so hard to save would betray him like this.

"The seven deadly sins of Humanity... I hope this answers your question," replied the demon king, "I am Curse Devil Volfomet... What's your name, human?" asked the demon king. He at least wanted to know the name of the betrayed human before their death.

"Luc..." The human swordsman's voice drifted away as his breathing stopped.

"B'ght'ttr... Levl'fr... Kaal'dra..." mumbled the demon king after sensing the human warrior pass away. A tiny wisp of black energy emerged from his body and entered the human swordsman's body before him. "You... You can not die like this... Li...ve... a... peaceful life... in next... rebirth...." Life vanished from the demon's body.

Under the blue sky, two warriors died. They battled for what they believed was right. They fought for their people. They fought for their survival. But in the end, who was right? Who was wrong? There is no definitive answer. The unknown swordsman was just someone whose fate got caught in the grey line between right and wrong.

"Hunggg!!!"
Lucas opened his eyes.

"Damn it! That dream again," Lucas mumbled while rubbing his eyes. Every time he died, he would see the same vision before being resurrected in a new body.

The piercing rays of the sun fell on him. An icy chill swept down his spine. His entire body was soaked in mud and water. As if that weren't enough, the cold wind was still blowing in the area. He slowly stood up as his implanted teeth clattered in the cold. His old bones creaked in pain under his wrinkled skin.

"Oh! Where the hell am I? This?! What the hell? This is... Nooooo!!! Why the heck am I this freaking old? What is this life force...? 20 minutes... What the heck? Only 20 minutes to live after dying just a few hours ago?"

Countless questions rose in Lucas's mind. This was his 20th rebirth. And this was also the first time he woke up in the body of someone that old. He grabbed his head and sat on the muddy ground.

'What kind of joke is this? Last time I was a noble vampire, and now I'm just a freaking old man,' thought Lucas, unable to believe the sick joke that fate was playing with him.
