Lucas noticed something wrong with his new body apart from being old and having less than 20 minutes to live. Whenever his soul transitioned into a new body, he experienced excruciating headaches after regaining consciousness. His memories would then be merged with his new body by the System. This time, he didn't feel any pain nor was there any notification from the System.

A question struck his mind like a lightning bolt.

"Hey. System. How long ago did I reincarnate in this body?" asked Lucas as his left eye twitched a bit. As an experienced reincarnator with twenty rebirths under his belt, he had a rough idea of what might have gone wrong this time. He just wanted to make sure, you know, just in case.

'Oh! Keep calm,' Lucas said as he shook his head. In place of venting his anger, he thought rationally, 'Could it be that the curse of reincarnation is getting weaker as time passes?' He wondered.

Lucas lived a very long life. He initially believed that his reincarnation ability was a blessing from the heavens, and that he might be reborn in his original world. Lucas wanted to find the traitors who had betrayed him.

However, after his tenth rebirth, he got tired. He stopped looking for a way back to his world. He started to seek something that could put an end to his cursed life. He just wanted to die permanently and be over with the endless cycle of life and rebirth. In his next three lives, he tried to kill himself with various methods, including a holy relic, death magic, and a mythical weapon, but nothing worked. So, all he could do was live and continue living.

Lucas asked the System, "What happened to me? Why am I remembering things now? Is the curse getting weaker?" He hoped for the curse to weaken. So that he could finally rest his exhausted eyes forever. But good things don't come easily. Isn't it?

A child's body? Lucas widened his eyes in anguish. "Who killed a child? Did he die of some disease? Or... Someone... Did someone killed him?" he asked angrily. Every time he died, he was reincarnated into a dead body. Moreover, it's the first time he's had to deal with such a difficult situation because he was reborn in a murdered child's body.

After hearing about the child, Lucas at least wanted to know the cause of his death. If it's some disease without a cure or his family was too poor to afford it, it's an understandable situation. But if that's not the case, then he wants to know who killed him.

"How could anyone kill a child? How?" yelled Lucas. His rage-filled voice echoed through the mountains.

[Baaam!!!] Murky black smoke was rising from Lucas's body. Flickers of black lightning were crackling around his old body. He clenched his fist and punched the tree before him. The tree exploded instantly. It looked like a hand grenade explosion. There were no splinters or any remains of that tree. It has completely vaporized from existence.

"Humans... They never change. Bastards even killed a child for their satisfaction. It looks like I can't die yet... System, open class selection," ordered Lucas while trembling in rage.

Lucas wanted to wait for his death since he only had less than 20 minutes to live, but after hearing about the murder, he changed his mind. He decided to stay alive and kill the person who killed Alex.

'I will hunt you down no matter who you are... If you are dead, then I will pull you out of your grave and kill you again... Then I will hunt down your bloodline and extinguish your entire generation.' Lucas clenched his fists. Before his eyes, the System window opened, displaying the classes he had obtained in his previous lives.

"Activate Vampire and Master of Masks," Lucas chose his classes without a second thought. Since he decided to live and take revenge, he might do it on a grand scale by playing with his prey and hunting them slowly and painfully.

A light tint of red aura surrounded Lucas's body as a stench of blood swept throughout the forest. He opened his palm and tried to summon his aura. A cluster of faint, red energy appeared on his palm.

"Che. Too weak... Need fresh blood..." Lucas licked his lips, "Kugg! Need blood. Too thirsty." His four canine teeth were sharp, pointy, and longer than a regular human's.

Due to the lack of blood in his body, Lucas's vampiric trait is activated. It's like a survival instinct that creates strong urges within his body. At the same time, an unknown voice continuously whispers in his ears to hunt and drink blood to regain life force. In this condition, it's very difficult to maintain sanity since the thirst for blood has reached its peak point, making him a danger to all lifeforms.

"Get the f*ck out of my head!!!" Lucas yelled angrily. He fell to his knees and slammed his head on the ground. "Phew!" He stumbled back and sighed in relief. The voice in his head was no more. His face was covered in mud, and a tiny trickle of blood was dripping from his blistered forehead.

'Since this is a forest, there are bound to be wild animals,' thought Lucas as he looked around.

A lush canopy of green trees and rugged terrain surrounded him. Light drizzles of rain started to fall, as the cold wind was blowing as usual. Due to his vampiric trait, the chilly feeling he had been experiencing has disappeared for now. Moreover, his life force has also increased. It's enough time for him to head out for a hunt.
