Draped in cloaks, the four escaped Radevic relatively unscathed and unnoticed. Most of the fighting was contained within Aidenhall. The citizens were probably even blissfully unaware of what was going on. However, this was Eliza's worst fears. Word of Archbishop Gretchen's overthrow would no doubt spread. It hadn't taken long for Arenade to find out Kanae and Edina were imprisoned. That news was going to eventually reach the demon domains soon enough.
As Kanae pushed through the shrubbery, she bumped head-first into a skeletal undead. Delayn and King Turren, naturally, became defensive.
"Ow…" Kanae rubbed her forehead. "Don't worry, it's not aggressive. If this is here, then Edina must be nearby."
The undead nodded and beckoned them to follow, its bones rattling together as it did. They treaded cautiously after it, keeping their eyes peeled for any pursuers the archbishop might have sent after them.
"If someone told me this morning that we'd be rescued by a succubus and led to safety by an undead, I would have brought them before the cathedral to confess their insanity." Delayn sighed.
"I think this is exciting. I can't remember the last time I left Radevic's walls, let alone Aidenhall. Look at these berries, Delayn! Don't they look delectable?" King Turren wandered up to a bush spotted with green berries until Esta steered him away.
"Your Majesty, those are poisonous. Dire beasts have developed digestive tracts to eat them. If any of us do so without antidotes or detoxification magic, we will bleed from our ears and nose until death," Esta warned.
The old king stared at her in utter shock. "I've changed my mind. This is not exciting."
Delayn moved to protect King Turren before anyone felt it. Then Kanae felt the ground shake. Something or somethings with heavy footfalls were stomping toward them. Esta stood in front of Kanae with her greatsword drawn.
Two death knights, their armor heavily battered and dented, emerged from the foliage. Edina sat atop the shoulder of the one wielding a greatshield.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Am I glad to find you guys!" Edina exclaimed as she hopped down. "Damn, this place is crawling with mercs. That bitchshop and Renya's bro must have sent people out here, too."
"We haven't encountered any," Esta said.
"Turns out shambling undead wandering the forests at night really puts the fear of death in you!" She bellowed with laughter.
"Where is the Grand Eye? We were told they would be with you." Delayn preemptively raised her staff again, seemingly suspicious that the others weren't with Edina.
"Are they lagging behind you or something?" Kanae asked.
The squirreling scratched her ear. "About that… The numbnuts decided to stay behind."
"They what?!"
Edina went on to explain that she, Will, Runald, and Cylia found the Grand Eye and Vestrid in the Ocular Stronghold. However, after assuring her that Kanae went to save King Turren, the two vowed to stay put. Since the Grand Eye intended to stay, Will refused to leave his sister's side and Runald chose to lend them a hand.
"That sounds like Grand Eye Analise alright. I should have been the one to stay behind." King Turren sighed.
"Supreme One protect you," Delayn whispered to them a prayer.
"What about Cylia?" Kanae pressed her.
"The fairy? That pint-sized bitch fucked right off! The Many can rail my ass if I know what she was thinking." Edina shrugged.
That sounded about right and not right for Cylia. After agreeing to help, would she really just leave…?
"More importantly," she continued with eyes glued to Kanae. "Did you get new digs? You're looking like a high-end prostitute no matter what you wear, buddy."
"Guh… Long story short, these are succubus-specific equipment that empower me. I'm hoping I can beat Archbishop Gretchen with these," Kanae said.
They had no other choice but to continue their escape without the Grand Eye. Traveling back onto the main road, they spotted a rest stop serviced by Rown Company ahead.
"Wait, I don't like this." Delayn stopped walking. "Didn't you say Archbishop Gretchen is conspiring with Rown Company? We could be heading right into a trap."
"I got this." Kanae winked.
The tavern was bustling at this time of night. Kanae could tell as much from the outside, seeing the many silhouettes on the other side and raucous, drunken chattering. A human stablehand was leading two horses into the stable until she hollered to him.
He panicked.
"A succubus—!"
"Sh." Kanae hushed the man and placed a strong charm on him. "I need a carriage big enough to fit five people and your healthiest languisteed to get me to Lograin. Why don't we work out the negotiations inside? Just you and me~"
They entered the stable where Kanae had a romp with the stablehand amidst whining equines, falling into heat from her lustful moans. She returned to her companions with four strong languisteeds harnessed up to some nobleman's fancy carriage.
"Our ride awaits." Kanae smiled, opening the carriage door for them.
"Your methods disgust me." Delayn turned the other cheek as she entered after the king.
Kanae had almost forgotten how Lograin looked, having been away for so long. The claw-like mountains welcomed her back with a gust of wind that she gladly breathed deeply of. She knocked on the wall behind her stagecoach seat, intending to wake Delayn and King Turren up, but it was Edina who stirred first.
Just so that Delayn could sleep easy, Edina had taken to riding on top of the carriage instead of inside. She sat upright and let out an ugly yawn, rubbed her eyes, and stretched until her joints popped. The sight of Lograin breathed life back into her.
"Is that the demon queen? Welcome to Lograin, Queen Kanae!" A guard waved from the gates as their carriage approached.
"Hello, High Priestesses!" In a wagon heading out of Lograin, an elderly farming couple smiled as they passed each other.
Kanae regarded them all with the same beaming energy.
The City of Sin and Piety was among the few that prospered most from the alliance with the Commonwealth. It served as the gateway into the rest of the continent.
They rode up to the mayor's manor, and the steward headed in to fetch the mayor. Mallory came out in red bathrobes and looked disheveled.
"Wake up on the wrong side of the bed, Mr. Mayor?" Kanae grinned.
"Kanae? I thought you were in Radevic! I heard what's happening there. Are the rumors true? Saint Priests came through here a while ago, and there is a massive Commonwealth force gathering north. What's going on?" Mallory asked.
"Allow me to fill the mayor in," King Turren said as he exited from the carriage, causing Mallory to drop to one knee in reverence. "In the meantime, our saviors have more pressing matters to tend to."
When Delayn tried to step out, the king ushered her back in and shook his head.
"But, my king—"
"Someone has to tell the other Saint Priests, and they are more likely to listen to you," he reasoned.
Kanae, Edina, Esta, and Delayn unhitched the languisteeds from the carriage to ride out of Lograin. They pushed the poor stallions to their limits. Riding north in the direction of the border between Lograin and the Commonwealth, they reached a war camp flying Commonwealth banners depicting the silhouette of a succubus in flight.
"Holy fuck. Arenade must've called everyone." Edina gasped in awe at how large the camp was.
"And your queen-regent fell for Archbishop Gretchen's bait. Only a force this large warranted the need to dispatch six Saint Priests," Delayn said.
Kanae recalled the first time the Grand Eye saw the Commonwealth as a threat. They sent two Saint Priests, Delayn and Vestrid. Or maybe that was Archbishop Gretchen's doing, too. Either way, it really went to show how much of a peril they were viewed as.
As they drew closer, Kanae's heart began to race with trepidation. Prickling cold sweat trickled down her back. It had been months since she saw her people. Would they hate her for leaving? Hate her for screwing up and almost leading them into a war?
However, those worries were soon washed away by soldiers and familiar faces amassing to meet her. Especially…
"Mama?" Teana stared in disbelief. Behind her, Revah, Pan, and Mikki were in just as much shock.
The four of them dropped everything in their hands and came running. Kanae dismounted just in time to embrace them all. Her sweet babies buried their crying faces into her chest and arms, wailing like the moment they were born. With Teana in particular, she rubbed their horns together.
"Mom… hic… W-We thought we would never see you again!" Mikki cried.
"We were going to go kick whoever's asses needed to be kicked to get you back!" Pan exclaimed as snot dribbled down her nose.

Revah was too choked up and sniffling to say a thing.
"Mama… I'm so glad… you're okay…" Teana wept the most.
"You think your mom was going to give up that easily? Of course, I'm fine… I… I missed you all, too…" Kanae couldn't contain her emotions while surrounded by her beloved daughters and began to tear up.
Seven succubi, the Sisters of Sin, landed in a half-circle around them and knelt down. Their Eminence of Sin vestments were worn with armor or robes that suited their crowned class, a display that they were ready for battle.
"Mistress," Lilith began, struggling to control her shaky voice. "We're glad to see you safe."
The rest of them lifted their heads, each one smiling in deep relief.
"KANAAAEEEE!" Arenade's roar cut through the touching atmosphere.
The children hid behind Kanae and shuddered. The Sisters of Sin and crowds parted as Arenade stormed past them in wrathful fury befitting the fallen high elven demigoddess, each stomp causing quakes in the ground.
"Uh, oh…" Kanae gulped.
"Uh, oh? Uh, oh?! Is that all you can say for yourself, missy?" Arenade yelled, grabbing each side of Kanae's cheeks and pinching hard. "After you left me to rule alone and get yourself imprisoned? Suvee and Kanata kept asking me if mommy was okay! They were afraid to leave my side, thinking I'd disappear, too! I spent every waking night wondering if your good-for-nothing, brothel-hopping, sex-obsessed succubus ass was going to be okay. Ahhhhhh! Do you know how hard it was mobilizing and MANAGING the Commonwealth's armies? Everyone eats and screws so much that I don't even know if they're capable of fighting! I'm so angry, I can just… I can…"
"Aw, come on. Tell Kanae how you really feel," Edina teased.
Arenade's hands started trembling and her eyes moistened. It wasn't long before she started bawling her eyes out.
"I was so worried about you!" she cried uncontrollably and violently shook Kanae by the shoulders to the point of nausea.
"Arenade… I'm glad, but please… I'm going to hurl…" Kanae swallowed the vomit rising up her throat.
The thrashing stopped, and Kanae felt two warms wrap around her back with a hand to her head. She could tell even without looking that Arenade was pouting despite initiating the hug.
"I'm not coming to save you if you get yourself in trouble again, you hear?" Arenade huffed.
"Sorry for worrying you," Kanae whispered.
They looked each other in the eyes, foreheads pressed together, and were about to kiss until Delayn harshly cleared her throat.
"This is a touching reunion and all, but where are the Saint Priests? Don't tell me you managed to repel all six of them?" Delayn asked.
"Six?" Arenade returned a clueless look.
With the reunion high simmering down, Kanae promised to catch up with her children later and ordered the Sisters of Sin to stand down their forces. She, Esta, Edina, and Delayn followed Arenade to a tent larger on average compared to the others. Kanae immediately recognized it as one of the non-sex slave relief huts. In addition to providing sexual services like a brothel by paid prostitutes, the places doubled as an entertainment venue with gambling, alcohol, and music.
If they were going in there… Kanae had a bad feeling.
Two guards standing to either side of the entrance drew open the drapes for them to enter. The bitter pinch of alcohol and fragrant ashes assailed their noses.
"What in the three hells is going on in here?!" Delayn exclaimed.
The relief hut was only currently serving three people. An androgynous dark elf whose gender Kanae couldn't quite tell was lying face-down on a cot, being massaged by two prostitutes.
Sitting at a low table, ass planted on a long cushion and with an arm around a woman pouring him a drink, was a middle-aged human man. Modest in size and not bulky at all like Vander, the slim white tunic and staff at his feet was a sure sign of some sort of spellcaster.
Lastly, an older feline woman with long, orange hair obscuring her eyes and draping down her back, was smoking from an extremely long pipe. The bowl sat on smoldering coals, surrounded by stones and sand. She was in the middle of emptying a bag of herbs when they had walked in.
All the while, a bard strummed her lute playfully off to the side.
The blood in Kanae's veins turned cold. For upright Saint Priests to involve themselves in such vices would lead to the Commonwealth's end. Goodbye everything. Forget Archbishop Gretchen's coup. If the Grand Eye found out her elite bodyguards fell to sin, it's Kanae's head that would roll. She ran in front of Delayn to block the view.
"I'm so, so, so sorry about this! Th-There's got to be a good explanation for all of us," Kanae hastily said.
"What are you apologizing for?" Delayn asked. "This is how those three always are! Ugh. How any of you became Saint Priests is beyond me! It's so unbecoming!"
"Wait… really?"
Arenade nodded with a sigh. "As soon as they arrived, they respectfully asked for three things: a cozy place to sleep, fine wine, and some quality herbs. Of course, I provided that to them. What would anyone think of Queen-Regent Arenade if I denied hospitality to the Saint Priests? The problem is, that's all they've been doing!"
"Just five more minutes, I promise…" the dark elf mumbled.
"If they won't introduce themselves to the Queen of the Commonwealth, I will…" Delayn said, walking over to yank a handful of the dark elf's white hair. "Ulric Boradin, former Knight of Copper. Best crowned Ranger in the continent. Though he has a perverse habit of dressing in feminine clothing."
"Don't call it perverse. Women's clothing is comfy!" Ulric pouted, his voice coming out rather effortlessly effeminate.
Crossdressing? Kanae's interest was thoroughly piqued. The pretty dark elf's eyes opened half-way, then shut one to wink. If she hadn't been told he was a guy, she would have believed otherwise.
Delayn turned her eyes to the feline woman. "Smoking from the pipe is Camilla Rudeux. Although there is no branch for the feline race, Camilla rose through the ranks of Aidenhall's knighthood as an unmatched fencer. Though I question that her skills may be the result of… substances…"
"You use potions, and I use herbs… We both give thanks to the Supreme One for these blessed herbs all the same." Camilla took a deep drag of the pipe, and Kanae wondered if she was looking at a stoner or a Saint Priest.
"The wine-enthusiast is Danito Wrendol. Former Knight of Azure. He is a priest capable of mending even the gravest of wounds," Delayn explained proudly.
"Pleasure to finally meet your acquaintance, Queen Kanae!" Danito raised his glass in toast. "I must say, your people carry the most exquisite wine! I've heard rumors you possess a magical item called Chalice of Endless Booze… How much will it take for you to part with it?"
"Ahem. It's mine, and it's not for sale. Not even over my dead body," Edina chimed in.
They were definitely not what Kanae expected having met Delayn and Vestrid. Maybe those two were the only normal ones.
"What are you three lounging around in what could be hostile territory at any moment? This isn't what the Grand Eye sent you out for!" Delayn groaned.
Danito brushed her off. "Oh, relax. Radevic and the Commonwealth are allies for now. So we're partaking in their hospitality for now."
"Kuh… What about the other three? Lanil, Bocchi, and Sheena?"
"You didn't know?" Ulric lifted his head. "They were sent to Port Kandis to calm things down with the uppity high elves."
Kanae and Delayn traded uneasy glances.
"Are any of you aware of what happened in Radevic?" Kanae asked.
Ulric shook his head. "Haven't received new orders yet— Wait a minute. Aren't you supposed to be in jail? Did the trial end with you being proven innocent?"
"That's great! That means we can lounge here a while longer, right? Supreme One, I dedicate this next pull to you." Camilla plugged her lips on the pipe to draw the biggest pull of her life.
"No, you idiots!" Delayn boomed. "Archbishop Gretchen Redbaron staged a coup. We barely escaped with our lives. King Turren is currently residing with Mayor Mallory in Lograin, and the Grand Eye is trapped in the Ocular Stronghold with Vestrid!"
In a split second, the three Saint Priests were already on their feet before the pipe in Camilla's hand hit the ground.
"You're serious?" Danito asked.
"It's true," Esta confirmed. "If it wasn't for Master's quick thinking, we would have been defeated."
"If you're all done leisurely wasting your time, we have a Grand Eye to save!" Delayn exclaimed.
As they moved to gather their things, the tiny towel around Ulric's waist slipped off and flashed everyone in the room. His penis with a cockring at the base and family jewels were bare for all to see, but it was Delayn who flustered the most.
"D-D-Dis… Disgusting! Filthy! What profane insult under the gaze of the Supreme One!" Delayn shrieked as she went red up to her eyes.
