Our merry band has just arrived outside of the first city in the Kingdom of Somber. According to Erevyn the city’s name is Solus. The walls are large, but not quite as large as Ender’s capital. The walls are adorned with blue banners going down the sides. In the center of them there is an orange sun displayed. The gate features 2 portcullis, and there are crenulations at the top of the walls. All of this is seen from a distance with my enhanced eyesight of course.

“Master, I believe we should enter the city at night. Some people probably already know what has happened at Ender’s capital. Humans might be weak, but they do invent such things as magic communication devices.” Oh, that is good to know. I am glad we didn’t stick around in Ender. I could probably take down an army, but It would be better not to let the ants swarm me. Especially if some of the ants are fighter ants, but I do want to have some fun. This body is getting an itch to fight something strong.

“Very well, Rela, we will go at night like you say, but maybe we could have some fun when night comes.” The way I phrased that I instantly regretted it because Rela started to blush and said. “I am all for nightly activities, Master! I will accompany you to bed i-if you wish!” Immediately I karate chopped her head, but she just started acting out even more, twisting her body while holding herself.

“Master is so cruel! I am a frail maiden!” Now everyone is looking at Rela with a look of disgust, especially Erevyn. She is wearing a look that could kill most people right now, but why does Emma look jealous? Does she even understand this pervert? Am I the only one who is sane? Ilya, stop breathing so heavily while you are kneeling, it doesn’t suit a knight.

“A-anyways! We will go with what Rela said and enter at night! There will be no nightly activities… at least not of that kind!” I tried to rectify my previous mistake and return to my usual bored expression, but I found my mouth was twitching because Rela was still looking like a pervert. Calm down, me! Breath! Yes, just breathe. I found myself growing incredibly calm within a few seconds.

“Master, what kind of nightly activities are you speaking of then? Is it something even more scandalous?” This woman is dangerous! Why is she twisting my words to something sexual everytime? This time I spoke with a commanding tone. “That will be quite enough joking around. What I am speaking of is something different. We will Scour the city and collect information while we are here.” This time it was Erevyn who responded.

“If it is just information then I know a group within the city.” Both me and Rela narrowed our eyes at her before she continued. “I have several elf informants in this city from my time as a scholar. They will help us. They do owe me a great debt after all, and if they don’t help us…” she looked over to Emma. “Well I think this one is just itching for that to happen.”

“I-I am not!” The way Emma looked away suggests that she really does want something to happen. I guess it is not only me who has urges. Even Ilya is readying her ceremonial sword. Rela is just glaring at Erevyn. What is the deal with these two? I will have to ask Rela later.

With that it was decided that we would enter Solus at night, so we waited far away from the city and off of the road. No one should notice us, and if they do, I will know. I pulled out a tent from my inventory and allowed Emma, Erevyn, and Ilya to rest. Ilya protested, but I knew she would need her sleep. Rela is the only one who doesn’t necessarily need to sleep. When I finally heard all of them fall asleep, I addressed Rela. “I have a few questions, Rela.”

“Ask away, Master! Even if it is still daylight out, I will service you.” Haa, well at least she never really changes. “This is about Erevyn, not any kind of service.” Her look turned sour once I mentioned the elf, but then returned back to normal a second later. “What would you like to know about that thing? Wouldn’t it be better if I service you after all?” I ignored the second question and decided to answer her first.

“That is exactly what I mean. Why do you call her a ‘thing’? She is journeying with us too, so why can’t you and her just get along?” She looked down for a moment and began to think of something. Then she looked up at me and spoke. “I am sorry, Master, but I don’t think I could get along with that ungrateful bitch.” Whoa to even call her a bitch… isn’t that much? “What did she even do for you to harbor such animosity?”

“During her time as a scholar she was also a part of the cultists.” Like that she just dropped a bombshell. I mean I do hate the Eliah cultists because they disgust me, but surely she had a reason. “Maybe she had a reason for joining them. Maybe she was infiltrating them. I don’t like how she didn’t tell me that herself, but surely she had a reason.”

“Master, if I may be blunt I despise everyone who was or is a part of that group. The lot of them are ungrateful fucks. They wish to cage you as a part of their grand scheme. Even if she is no longer a part of that organization. I can guarantee she…” Her words trailed off at the end.

“How do they even plan to cage me, and I thought they worshiped me? Why would they want to do anything like that? Rela, you aren’t really making sense. It is just contradicting what I saw from the cultists.”

“Don’t you see, Master? They want you to be what they want you to be. They want you to lead them as some great figure. If they were to get ahold of you… you would become nothing more than a slave to their goals. They will make you out as their goddess, but you will become an object of worship to them. You will have to heed whatever their organization wants. You won’t be allowed to be free anymore, and if you are still the same master I always knew you would hate it. Besides, they are all ungrateful bastards. They wish to feed you with lies about yourself. That is why I can’t stand that shitty elf. Perhaps it is better if we just ditch this whole trip and go back to your castle like you wanted.”

“That might be the case, and it might be just as you said; however, I am afraid I can’t do that. There is still so much I don’t know about myself. She said she has something for me at her lab, so I must go there. Even if it is risky, I will have to trust her.” She looked at me with a sad expression that didn’t really suit her, but afterwards she just nodded her head and turned away from me.

We just sat there unspeaking until the sun started to set, and then the group from within the tent started to stir. If what Rela says is true then I need to be careful around Erevyn, but I will still choose to trust her for now. Even if she betrays me, it won’t end well for her. I stood up as all of them got out of the tent, and the night started to settle over the plains. I am a little angry that Erevyn didn’t tell me she was part of the cultists, but she probably didn’t even think to tell me. I will have to talk to her alone at some point, but now is the plan to enter the city.

I found myself adorning a sadistic smile again. I want something to happen. There is also a part of me that wants Erevyn to betray me. If only it would be for a good distraction. Also her blood had a nice taste to it. As they all exited the tent everyone kneels before me awaiting my orders.

“We will enter the city tonight, and we might as well have a little fun while we are at it. Especially you Emma, don’t think I haven’t noticed how restless you have become.” I smiled at the group, and Emma reacted to my comment with a blush. She returned my smile nonetheless. It was finally time for us to enter the next city and begin the next endeavor.
