It was time for my daily prayer within the church, though this time, it was different, as anxiety crept throughout my body. The usual brilliant, shining statue of the Goddess looked ominous this morning as if something had happened. I kneeled before the statue of the Goddess of Life, praying. “Oh great Goddess, I–” I said before being pulled into a pure white space, the sensation feeling like a dream. A beautiful elven woman descended before me, her long, flowing, green hair waving like leaves in a gentle wind.
With a concerned expression sullying her face she exclaimed; “Listen here, child.. As you are the Holy Priestess of this church, you shall hear my revelation of a coming danger to your kingdom. I stood there silent, listening to her speak, as she hadn’t requested my voice. “A celestial has been born, One that is filled with malice and ill intent, an Undead.” My mind was bouncing off the walls in confusion. Firstly, a Celestial hadn’t appeared in the Elven Forest since the one who slew the Evil God which was around 1000 years ago. And this one was an Undead? My body shivered in fear, as I imagined the undead going on a rampage throughout the Forest.
“Now Lynilia, Holy Priestess, go and tell your kingdom of the imminent threat. I fear it may already be within the walls of this city.” I nodded, then was abruptly sent back to my body, kneeling on the ground. My heart sank, as I walked out of the prayer hall, heading into the office of the pope. The pope was an old elven man, smiling like a grandfather would, the wrinkles on his face showing the centuries he had lived through. He thought of the members of this church as his grandchildren. I was hesitant to speak as I didn’t want to ruin his good mood. “I- I have received a revelation..”
His wrinkly face stretched in concern as he looked at my nervous self. I then explained to him what I had heard from the Goddess of Life. He silently tapped his fingers on his desk, thinking away after I explained the situation. I awaited his response. He then looked at me with a serious expression plastered over his usual gentle face. “For now I will talk this over with the King, so young Lyn, please take this time to rest. Once we have come to a decision I will call you.” I nodded, then left the room.
I had calmed down a little, after leaving the church, which now had an ominous atmosphere, different from its usual, calm, relaxing one. I visited many food stalls, as I had a love for food. Although I’m supposed to be resting, I just can’t shake this bad feeling off. Thoughts race through my mind such as; When will it appear? Are our forces strong enough? Is it already here? Nothing can seem to calm me down enough, as I’m practically driving myself to insanity. How can we defeat such a thing? If its power is the same level as the other Celestials then I doubt we can do anything..
No, wait I can’t think that way, I have to try and think positively. Suddenly I heard a voice coming from in front of me. “Excuse me, Miss. Is everything alright? You have such an unpleasant expression on your face.” Asked a dapper, middle-aged human man, with brown hair tied into a ponytail. I had been deep in thought standing in the middle of the street, I probably looked like a crazy person. “A-ah yes I am fine, sorry.” He looked at me confusedly, “Excuse me miss, I was wondering where I could purchase some fine art?” “O-oh, I think down the street there is a nice art shop there.”
