“So you are 100% positive the Logbook was your father’s?” Paige asked once we reached a quiet street. I was now properly scared of whatever was happening, especially after Paige lost her temper like that earlier.

“Paige, I promise you, I am so confused, I have no idea. I am scared to even check. Every time I open this book something scary happens,” I said, handing her the journal, desperately trying to steady my shaking arm. “You check. My father always signs his name on the back inside cover.”

“Myron Barragan…” she read out and turned the journal around for me to see. I noticed she was careful not to touch the pages of the book, only touching the outside covers as she opened the last page.

“Will you tell me what’s happening now?” I asked.

“The Logbook transported us to Idera… This is where I’m from. I got portalled off to Earth 3 years ago when the Blood Summoners attacked the temple I lived at,” she sighed. “I never wanted to return here. Earth was a lot safer, boring but safe.”

“So this place is a real world? Not just a place my father made up for his campaign?” I continued questioning her.

She nodded.

I refrained from asking more questions, as Paige returned the journal to me.

“Let’s go shopping,” she urged me to follow her inside a merchant square.

Three hours later we returned to the same inn we were at earlier and were greeted by Stuart once again.

“Last time you came here, it was your brother holding all your shopping,” he said as he was searching for the key to the room Paige was getting for us and giving me a knowing look.

“Yes-” Paige answered through gritted teeth.

Once the old man gave her the key, Paige led me up to the room, on the third and last floor of the inn. I tried to keep myself from heaving once I got up there with the three hundred thousand bags she made me carry halfway across town.

The room was small with two separate beds crammed inside.

“Let’s see what we have to work with,” she mumbled as she walked to one of the beds and did a hand motion similar to the one that summoned money when she had to pay, and a stat table appeared in front of her.
