Chapter 9: 05

"Is this some auditory illusion due to the recent loss of blood?"

Cedric continued to look in the mirror and then at the screen.

"Does the host want to awaken his full potential? What is this thing and how did I become its host? Is this some sort of parasite?" Cedric asked questions in a breath while continuing to be confused.

The system broadcasted another message

[This is the system. It will help you get stronger]

"Oh fuck, this shit replies?" Cedric spoke in surprise. He did not expect something like this.

'Get stronger? There are indeed a few ways but they are all related to black magic, which is illegal to practice in the kingdom. Nah, this doesn't sound good. I should be sure before my next move.' Cedric thought in his mind and then looked at the system screen.

[Does the host want to awaken his full potential?]

'Not now. Maybe in the future.' Cedric said in his mind and to his surprise, the system understood it and closed the tab.

Full of the shock, Cedric went into the washroom to clean the blood traces on his face and the rest of his body. After cleaning, he called in some cleaners to clean the room.

He also took a ragged brown cloak and sneaked out of the mansion and decided to visit a doctor.

In the hectic streets of the evening, people walked in the street pushing each other, hawkers tried their best to sell things at the best price and couples stood in front of food stalls eating.

Between all this, Cedric walked through the streets in a brown cloak and soon entered a dark, empty alley. The only light that could be seen in the area was from a board which read," Dr Weiss Stone"

Cedric walked towards the light in the dark, abandoned and empty alley, alone.

As he walked, he constantly looked to his left and right, checking his surroundings. From his experience of five years of surviving from assassins, he was sure some assassins were lurking in this empty alley.

'Did they follow me from the mansion? This is a big fucking problem. I hope I reach the clinic soon.' Cedric wondered.

As he wondered, he took out a dagger that was hanging on his waist and held it while pointing its sharp edge to his right.

He did not want to fight but he did not want to die either. The blood loss had rendered him very weak and vulnerable, the state he was in right now.

When Cedric was only a few steps away from entering the building, a thin needle came flying to his face from his right.

Barely dodging the needle, Cedric tightened his grip on the dagger. A man in dark clothes jumped in Cedric's direction and appeared in front of him as he swung his dagger with all his force.

Cedric predicted the target and put his dagger in the left of his abdomen.

The result of countering the swing was that Cedric was injured a little from his own dagger but he was still standing fine.

The man in dark clothes saw Cedric still standing and once again jumped in his direction but this time, his target was Cedric's throat.

"Fuck!" Cedric exclaimed when he saw the man's new target. Cedric once again put the dagger in front of his throat but right when the man's dagger was going to come in contact with Cedric's dagger, he was kicked out of the direction.

"You are at the doctor's, can you not do this please?" A man who had a buff build and white hair said.

He was the one who kicked the man just now.

"Doctor Weiss. Thank you for saving me." Cedric said.

"It's alright. You go inside, you don't look fine. I'll clean up here." Weiss said.

Cedric nodded and headed inside without any worries.

Weiss Stone or previously known as Kynaston Radcliffe was a Sword Master who retired from the army a few years ago and started a clinic. It was his dream to become a doctor in childhood so he became a certified doctor after retiring from the army.

Cedric sat inside the clinic, right in front of Weiss's seat.

Weiss soon walked inside the clinic with his hands covered in blood.

"Why are you here, Young Lord?" Weiss asked as he sat on his seat.

"I had some severe blood loss and now I am seeing things so I just wanted to get a check-up," Cedric said.

"Why didn't you just get it from the Ashlet family doctor and rather came this far?"

"Blood loss, how do I explain it?" Cedric said.

Weiss chuckled a little and then took out a stethoscope from his drawer.

Cedric lay in his bed at night after the visit to the clinic. He remembered the words Weiss had said after he did the check-up.

"The things you are seeing must be illusions due to blood loss and weakness. There is nothing to worry about, your  whole body is in a good condition."

Cedric kept on thinking for some time and then he finally made a decision.

'If it is an illusion, saying yes won't have any difference, right? Let's do it. System, I want to awaken my full potential.' Cedric said in his mind with full excitement.

[Starting full awakening of the host. Poring mana…]

There were a series of different messages from the system. Cedric felt the same way when was awakened, nothing at all.

Cedric saw the message but in the end, was not able to believe it. He could feel no change in his body at all.

"*Sigh* Whatever," Cedric said as he shook his head and sat down on the floor with his legs crossed over one another.
