Chapter 1
“FUCCKKKK”
After letting lose with a scream that disrupted the previously peaceful night, Leo recognized the voice, however he was confused as to what Ava could possibly be screaming profanities for.
Slowly creeping closer, he saw Ava illuminated by the moonlight, her appearance was beautiful and looked like it came straight out of a work of art, yet this scene was destroyed by the string of curses that flew out of her mouth.
“God fucking damnit! Why me?! Can’t even die in peace and now this happens?! Is this meant to be some sort of joke?” As Ava screamed at the sky like she had lost her mind, Leo was struggling to recover from the shock from what he had just witnessed.
That’s definitely her, but Ava never curses like that… Well except that one time…
As Leo stood behind a hedge that hid his body, Ava kept muttering to herself without a break.
“Really? Saint Goes to the Academy, of all the games you pick for me, it’s got to be this one?” The boy used every bit of brainpower he could muster to try and piece together what was happening and brought it down to two things, one, this is all an elaborate prank. Two, this is some sort of weird dream.
As he struggled to convince himself about the reality of events, he got shocked once again when a blue screen popped up out of nowhere in front of Ava. Trying to comprehend the second mystery of the night, he thought that it must be that she had somehow awoken her mana before turning 16, making her some sort of unrivaled genius.
As expected of her, truly a once in a lifetime genius. Maybe she’s an archmage in the making?
While these fantasies ran through Leo’s head, Ava muttered out once more at the squiggly lines which he couldn’t make sense of.
“Villainess system… Become evil or the demon king awakens early… Shit…” As Ava muttered these words which Leo was only just able to hear, a frown came across his face as he crossed off the idea of this being a prank. After pinching himself a number of times just to be extra safe, he also realized that it wasn’t a dream.
Should I just ask her?
When he was about to reveal himself, her next line pierced through his line of thought and caused him to involuntarily stiffen as if the cold air had turned his blood to ice.
“If I don’t do this then everyone dies… But if I do, I still die… What type of shitty game is this?!” The words that she spoke caused Leo to stumble forwards, knocking into the hedge in the process. As a loud rustle was the result, Ava shot up from her seat as the blue screen vanished from thin air.
“Who’s there?!” As she shouted towards the path where she came from, Leo slowly shambled out into the clearing struggling to make eye contact with her. As he looked up into her eyes, instead of the usual dazzling dark eyes he was used to, her eyes were trembling with silent tears causing her eyes to puff up and redden.

Rubbing at the tears which she wanted no one to see, she covered her face and turned around, sitting down once again.
“No, no, no… Why’d it have to be you, you shouldn’t be here Leo.” As her words came out at a rapid pace, Leo continued to approach his sullen mistress.
“Ava, what do you mean you’ll die? This is some sort of joke, right?” As he ignored her current emotions and asked her the question which made his heart tremble, she took a deep breath and looked down at her fidgeting hands.
After exhaling out the cold air which caused her breath to be seen, she started the story that would cause the biggest shock tonight while also changing the fate of the entire world.
After listening to Ava’s words which almost sounded like a madman made up a story, Leo became more and more concerned as she finished her tale.
The gist of what Ava’s story was that when the academy started up and everyone was able to unlock their mana, a commoner girl would release the budding powers of a saint, causing an uproar in the empire. With this new revelation of a powerful hero to fight against the demon army, the varying noble families showed interest in her and sent out their young masters to try and woo her. Once her powers developed further the royal family would also show an interest into her causing ‘future Ava’ to become a bully towards the saint. This part confused Leo as he couldn’t see a cruel Ava, but he listened without interrupting her as she finished by talking about beating the demon king with the power of ‘harem bullshit’, which confused Leo yet again.
Through listening to this story that sounded like a kid bedtime tale, Leo realized that Ava had begun to use words that he wasn’t familiar with such as ‘transmigrated’.
“Miss Ava, I don’t understand some of the words that you’re using. What else is there that you haven’t said?” Asking the question that had been on his mind since she had started swearing unlike her usual noble behavior, Ava sighed in resignation.
“I know the future because it was all in a game I played in another life, I’m still Ava but I have memories of things like ‘video games’ like what this world supposedly is. It feels sort of like… Like I’ve had a dream and woken up to remember everything that happened.” As she mumbled while picking at her nails which had become extremely short after the night of revelations, she continued her explanation.
“This… other me… was very sick, she lived in a hospital and could almost never go outside to play. She died on her twelfth birthday, before she could even go outside or make friends or anything. She was just, lonely.” As Ava finished off her recount, her tears started back up again as she buried her face in her hands
Getting rid of the idle thoughts which clouded his mind, Leo sat in front of Ava and gently pried her hands away, as he hold onto her delicate hands which had never felt so frail, he looked up into her eyes which leaked tears like a faucet.
“Ava, you saved my life, gave me a reason to live. I promise you now, I will never leave you, whether you like it or not, you will never be lonely as I will work towards repaying what you have given me. I may only be your butler, but if you want my life, its yours.” As he swore an oath to Ava that truly came from his heart, he maintained eye contact and watched her cheeks redden up even more. As she gently took her hands back and rubbed at her eyes, the pair agreed to talk more tomorrow on a rested mindset.
Ava, I know I shouldn’t, but I will always love you.
