Chapter 15: Chapter 15:Hermes vs Serea

In an  isolated place outside the kingdom of Argos, two groups were facing each other, Hermes who had gathered some gods loyal to his father and the majority of the apostles present in the temple of Zeus in the kingdom were facing Serea, and the other traitors that Hera chose to send.

Hermes wasn't surprised to see them here, in fact, since they confirm that Hera knew about Myrcela even though she didn't attack it was safe to assume that she was waiting for the right moment, it's why he was able to stop them from getting in the kingdom directly by the temples, the entire kingdom was protected by a barrier stopping any gods from getting in.

Facing Serea and the other goddesses Hermes could tell just by looking at them that something wasn't right with them but he choose to dismiss it for the time being.

'Hera must have done something,' he thought

"Sorry to stop you like that Serea but the door of Argos is close for the time being you need to leave," said Hermes with his usual smile

Looking at Hermes smiling like that serea showed a pained expression and said "Hermes, step aside please, I know that you have orders to follow, but things have changed I... we must take this child and his mother back to Olympus to the queen this is a question of life or death."

She wanted to just be able to say to him Queen Hera know that I too betrayed her and in retaliation she cursed us all if we don't accomplish that mission we are as good as dead but of course, Hera didn't make things  simple for them, the curse that she put on them will be activated if they try to talk about that, this is why she was so vague, but it was enough for someone like Hermes to understand

"I am sorry," he said looking at her with a trace of pity in the eyes

"The king son... my brother is going to come in this world very soon, I just can't let you get in who knows what's gonna happen to them if they fall in Hera's hand, I can't let that happen not under my watch," he said

At those words, Serea's expression turn sour closing her eyes she thought 'What an idiot I was, I am not surprised by that, in fact, I expected this answer, so why does that pain me, I was too greedy'

Reopening her eyes with she said taking a battle stance followed by her subordinates "Then you don't let me any choice, sorry Hermes"

'at least I must try my best to save those whom my stupid choice led here' she thought inward

(Dark Shadow)

At those words, the shadow of Serea began to expand dramatically

"What's this?!" Said, someone

"Jump!" shouted Hermes alarmed at this scene, he and some of his following jumped in the air avoiding the oncoming shadow, the majority who didn't jump or who were too late to react, found themselves trapped by the shadows that had spread to their feet, even the gods found themselves trapped

" I can not move anymore… "

"What is this thing?"

"I am sinking in that thing !"

As in quicksand, they found themselves immobilized and began to sink little by little, the more they struggled the faster they sank.

"Attack!!" shouted Serea pointing forward, her subordinates behind her began to run towards their enemies weapons in hand, they had no difficulty running on the shadow deployed by Serea and they took full advantage of the situation.

In an instant when the two groups faced each other a massacre began.

"slash, bang…"

From the start of the fighting a clear advantage appeared on the side of the group of Serea who were not only free of their movements but also ruthless, the poor apostles who were mostly the weakest and had the most difficulty in moving and in an instant several of them were already bleeding on Serea's shadow.

"Sir give them your orders." says an old god floating alongside Hermes

"A-ATTACK, don't get caught using your powers and freeing yourself!" Hermes who was still floating in the air with those who escape the shadow shouted, walking in the air he launched himself into the battle followed by the others.

Those who were trapped began to use their powers of lightning and appeared around the most talented apostles, using the powers of their aura or their various talent they were able to defend themselves against the attacking the goddesses who charged them

Coming from the sky at lightning speed leaving only a blur behind him Hermes falls towards Serea delivering a powerful kick

'I must dissipate this shadow' he thought

"tumb!!" instead of the big explosion he expected when his kick landed on Serea instead of the explosion that he expected he heard a dull sound, Serea was forced to kneel on the ground due to the power of the attack with a shield held above the head coated with her sticky shadow, but she had withstood Hermes attack with sustaining any damage, even the ground was intact, the shock of the attack had been absorbed by the shadow and redirected it around diluting the effect of the attack.

"What?" he exclaimed stunned

"You're gonna need to do a lot better if you want to beat me, and now, you are stuck," she said getting up she slammed Hermes on a part of the hard ground that she had free from her shadow creating an enormous explosion, before delivering a series of blow to Hermes on the ground with her shield, creating a cloud of dust.

"You have no chance to win this fight, Hermes," said Serea as the shadow closed in on him to trap him on the ground.

"swiff" shouting out from the cloud of dust before the shadow trapped him there Hermes appear in the sky bleeding and dusty.

"Don't get cocky just because you got me once, I won't let my guard down again, you're the one who will lose" responded Hermes angrily

"Really? Look around you then, look at your allies," she said pointing at the ongoing battle

Turning his head with caution Hermes looked at the battle and what he saw surprised him "How!"

The situation was not looking good for his allies at all.

A good number of apostles were already down and some gods too were beginning to fall, using the lack of coordination between them the goddesses were moving between the apostles of Zeus to escape the attack of their enemies before retaliating, using others as shields or throwing them toward the gods in the sky, to disturb the adversary, all those tactics were putting Hermes group in disadvantage.

Usually, a god would not hesitate to kill a human but those were no ordinary humans and they could be punished if they kill the apostle of Zeus.

"This is despicable."

"Stop running away"

"..." it was chaos in Hermes group

"The gods usually only give enough power to his apostles to easily control other mortals, most don't enough power to fight a god and it is more the case for our king, you should know that, it was stupid of you to bring them here in a fight against gods, even more so when I told you that it was a situation of life or death, if they were against any other members of their kind it would be fine, but here they are just hindrance, particularly for peoples who never fought together." said a smiling Serea

With a frown on his face he thought 'they aren't even hesitating in killing them, aren't they afraid of what Zeus will do to them, it's infuriating by I can see that what she said is true they shouldn't be here, I must find a way to change this situation.'

"almost," said Serea looking at Hermes who gave her a hateful stare

"you understand a little more why I said that you can't win, you are neither a born fighter like Ares nor a born leader like Athena, but you are one of the closest of your father this is one of the main reasons I accepted his offer when he proposes me to marry you!" she said to Hermes with a beautiful smile
