After wiping down the dried up tears on my cheeks, I got up and stared at the walls blankly. What’s with that dream just now? Whose dream was that?
Well, that’s not important. Dreams are just dreams. There’s nothing more about it.
With that in mind, I jumped out of the bed as I heard voices and sounds of metal hitting metal just right outside the window. Slowly, I dragged my feet to look at the source and found out that it was those girls already in the middle of their training.
Guess I’ll at least show my face and try using my new skill on them while hoping to find something intere— useful, I thought while twisting the wardrobe’s knob, only to find 7 snow-white dresses which had frilly embroideries and looked so identical.
I had hoped that they would at least provide me with more plain clothes. Though, this would do, for now at least.

The training grounds were located right beside the dorm. Perhaps it was because of the lack of lighting that I couldn’t see that place last night, but really, it was such a vast and large structure; approximately 200 meters in diameter, if not more. Or perhaps I was just too awestruck to even realize that there was such a building in my line of sight all that time.
Even though I called this place the training grounds, it was more like a huge and vast arena surrounded by thick walls made of light brown-colored stone. Everything was arranged in such a way that made it look like a certain amphitheater built by the Romans from Elise’s original world, with more than enough seats made of the same material.
Yes, it was just a copycat of the Colosseum.
Numerous flags and banners dangled on the outer part of the walls, making it more like a place where people fight to death for honor and glory. What a barbaric way of thinking…
“Good morning, Miss Elise.”
The first to greet me when I peeped through one of the so many door-like crevices was the horned girl who was shocked to see me using magic with no incantation the night before. With a burning, red lance-like weapon in hands, she then immediately raced her short, delicate stature of a body to my direction and bowed down respectfully.
“Hmm. Good morning, err…”
Realizing that she hadn’t introduced herself, the horned girl gasped and apologized, “Ah! I am really sorry, Miss Elise! My name is Orinda Ir’logi. As you can see, I am from the Dragonewt race.”
She showed a part of her upper arms which was covered in red scales of the same color of her hair and pupils. She was red, literally, apart from her fairly white skin which seemed to not be that different from mine. In contrast to her short and small figure, her thick tail wagged joyfully, seemingly to be excited about something. I wonder what…
“Just call me Elise and talk more casually, Orinda. I hate formality.” This time, I didn’t try to smile.
“But…”
“Please. Just think of that as an order and give up.”
“... Affirma— Ahem! Yes, Elise.”
“Hmm. Good.”
Yes, that’s it. I had thought of this approach while in the bathroom after I was done reading Elise’s memories. Well, not everything but at least I got the majority of them. I’ll be reading again when I get the time since there were still so many things I hadn’t seen and grasped completely, including how Elise could end up reincarnating in this world.
By the way, the first step for me to live normally was to make all people in this whole establishment recognize that I’m not that different, while somehow making friends while at it.
In fact, it would be better if they thought I was slightly frail and useless. Consequently, nobody would expect something from me and perhaps would let me do whatever I want; ignoring the bitter reality that I was actually tasked with something so great.
What did the nun mean by ‘destroying the world’s order’, anyway? I guess I can’t totally turn a blind eye on it after all. Let’s just look into it when I have time.
Curiously, I kept glancing at Orinda's thorny tail as it wagged even faster the longer I stared at it. It just reminded me of a dog’s tail wagging when it begs for food from its owner. Out of the blue, a beeping sound followed by a small notification window appeared out of nowhere.

[Unique Traits:] Reincarnator from Another World, Blessed by Níðhǫggr
It was almost surprising how convenient my new skill was. I had just thought of using it this morning and it already showed a great prospect for my future. Truly, a hidden blessing among the rubbles called shitty fate and happenings. If I played my cards right, this skill would be a great asset for my normal life.
It would be easier for me to lay low and avoid making contact with troublesome individuals, I mean.
With my heart filled by this strange surge of excitement and anticipation, I scanned my eyes on the window as I noticed something. This horned girl, Orinda, really is a reincarnator, just like the pale, err… Skuld had stated.
She hadn’t lied to me, at least in this field. It would be great if I got the chance to look at the others’ status as well as I somehow knew that it would be the case.
And also, I needed to max out this skill as soon as possible. The only way I knew was to use it repeatedly. However, this world isn’t the same as my original world. Probably there would be a different and more efficient way to level up skills. I’m fervently hoping for that, to be frank.

Well, it couldn’t be helped that I grew extremely curious about the talents and skills these girls’ possessed. That’s the only reason.
“Um, Elise…” Fidgety, Orinda called me and murmured softly. “Can you show me your magic?”
As the last phoneme blurted out of her glistening lips, Orinda’s red eyes sparkled brightly. Did she get enchanted by my ice magic the night before?
Well, she’s a magus so it can’t be helped since I also know that feeling.
“It’s fine by me. So how do I sh—”
“Let’s have a duel!”
“—ow my… Have a what?”
“Duel! Let’s have a duel!”
Thus, my first day in the training grounds started with a sudden duel between me and this strangely energetic dragonewt girl.

“Aaaa… Aaaa… Ahem! From the north side, the Fire Empress, Orinda Ir’logi!”
*Audience’s roars and claps*
“From the south side, the Esteemed Níðhǫggr’s Prophetess, Miss Elise!”
*Even more roars and claps from the audience*
“Both duelists, stand on your ground and ready yourselves!”
Enhanced using magic, the voice of the announcer resounded throughout the whole arena. The mood was extremely festive, mixed with shrill cheers and claps coming from the audience seats. Enthusiasm could be spotted from them, especially from Risa and the other 4 girls who were sitting with Skuld and… 2 other robed figures I couldn’t recognize.
Distancing herself while brandishing the red lance, Orinda locked her gaze onto mine. The gap between us was somewhere around 15 to 20 meters. Well, it was a duel between magi. Hence, that amount of distance was to be expected.
Simply put, there is no way we will fight in a close range, I believe.
Before I went up to the dueling arena, I was asked whether I used a weapon or not. Thinking that it might be strange if I just proceeded without even bringing anything with me, I told them I was used to staves and short-swords. And without further ado, they provided those.
With a short-sword in my right hand, and a small wooden staff in my left, I had never planned to use any of them. Why? I, frankly, didn’t need it. My body itself doubles its functions as a weapon, as well as a catalyst to conjuring and evoking magic.
Surprisingly, the duel hasn’t started yet and it gave me a chance to buff myself a little. Closing my eyelids and focusing myself on my entire nervous system, I coated my whole body with an invisible yet dense layer of mana. Being careful is never a bad thing.
“Oh! So you can use magic like that!” uttered Orinda in a high pitched tone. She seemed to be really excited for some reason.
“Yes. Why don’t you do that as well? It would put myself at ease if you did that, to be honest.”
I just couldn’t say that it would leave a bad aftertaste in my mouth if I accidentally killed her by mistake. Magic is just that dangerous. Once you lost control of it, the fate of those around you was most likely sealed.
In short, death. A painful one, mostly, no matter what magic you use.
“Let me try it.”
“Sure.”
In just a span of mere milliseconds after Orinda began focusing, my eyes immediately feasted upon a sight I had never expected to see.
Transparent, reddish shawls started to coil around Orinda’s body. The shawls then seeped into her, as her horns started to glow reddish. It didn’t even need that long for me to tell that her talents in magic were rivaling mine. By a small margin, even.
And when she opened her eyes, Orinda casually expressed, “My body feels so light! Thanks, Elise! C’mon! Let’s start the duel already! Please show me more of your magic!”
Ah, a chance to see how far magic has developed in this world…
Overcome by my own excitement of finally finding someone who could use magic that efficiently apart from myself, I couldn’t help but twist my lips upwards.
“Indeed. Let us begin the dance…”
As if knowing that both Orinda and I couldn’t wait anymore, the announcer stuttered loudly in a raspy voice, “L-Let the b-battle commence…!”
