No guards were in sight… except for one butler, with one singular monocle on top of his right eye.

His smile was large, and a chilling sensation ran through my body as he stepped back towards the golden gate.

The spikes atop the golden gate were crowned with a black stone that suddenly rose.

They were ripped off from the golden gate and began to swirl around one singular man who seemed to be a monster.

No… he was something much greater than a monster.

"*sigh*... What a bastard… Showing off so much," I mutter, my eyes glaring through the mask.

If you could see my eyes, you would notice my pupils had slimmed into slivers like a snake, and the feathers on my back itched.

"Miss, please step back. I'll land the first move," The Whix girl says, lightning crackling in the palm of her hand.

Without much effort, I held her back with one hand as she had moved forward.

She turned around, confused, but I just shook my head side to side.

"What's wrong?"

"Don't be an idiot,"

"How am I being an idiot?"

"*sigh*..."

I sighed, not wanting to draw any more attention in the silent crowd that was shaking in fear by just the appearance of the Write family head.

Some of the dungeon runners who the man didn't faze were staring at us.

It seems they're wary as well… I guess it won't be as easy as I thought.

"Sit still," One of the other girls says as she falls onto her buŧŧ.

Judging from her hair, I ȧssumed it was Charna due to the pitch-black color.

"W-why?"

Another girl, who I ȧssumed to be Amanda due to her light green hair, circled her and covered her mouth with a hand.

She wore a white glove that gave off a tangy smell.

Poison… But it doesn't seem too dangerous as the smell isn't as putrid as I've read.

The Whix girl began to calm down, and her eyelids drooped as if she was about to pass out.

And just before those eyelids fully shut, Amanda removed the glove from her nose, causing her breathing to return to normal.

Her eyes returned to normal, but she seemed pretty fearful of us as we silently observed the hesitant dungeon runners and government workers.

"Everyone! We have the numbers!" A woman towards the front of the crowd shouted.

She seemed a bit familiar, and once I got a clear look, I noticed it was the same government that I ran into at the B-rank portal and the same woman that arrested me.

I snickered a bit as she led the government workers and some dungeon runners to their doom.

"W-what are you doing?" The Whix girl asks, still oblivious to our plan.

As soon as the dungeon runners stepped through their gate, their heads were sent flying across the luscious, and well-cared lawn.

The perfectly cut grass was stained with blood and just as the heads stopped rolling, the butler from before activated his power stone.

It caused the blood and grass to be enveloped by the lawn, pushing it underneath and keeping the neatly cut grass on the surface.

More dungeon runners ran to their doom due to the government workers feeding them lies and using them as bait to draw out as many attacks they can verify… which is exactly what we were doing as well.

"Were you able to see that?" Charna asks.

"Kinda… It was mostly a blur though," I reply.

The black rocks that swirled around the Write head disspeasred and suddenly reappeared right next to the necks of a few dungeon runners who were towards the front.

They then slid across their soldiers, severing their heads from their bodies, instantly killing them.

But it didn't seem like it was extremely fast… more like it teleported to their necks.

Suddenly, the ground below us began to rumble like an earthquake and even the ground began to crack into small fissures.

The Write head was slowly walking towards the woman who arrested me, and within seconds she flopped to the ground.

Once her body limply slammed against the ground, her head fell off.

Her eyes weren't even in shock, displaying how fast the attack was.

"Step back a bit," I order the Whix girl which she quickly complied.

"Hmmmmmm...."

The Write heads' eyes scanned the remaining group of attackers like they were prey… but it also seemed like he was trying to find something.

"It smells like a monster," The man says with blank and almost bored eyes.

I gulped down a large drop of saliva upon hearing his words and his deep glare directed at me didn't make me feel any better.

The black rocks that began to swirl around him suddenly dissapeared again but we all knew immediatly what to do… well, except for the Whix girl.

I pulled her down with me as we all ducked, just bȧrėly dodging the black rocks that were aimed straight for our neck.

I got ready to dive out of the way once they were directed downwards, but they instead reappeared right next to Write head.

Amanda turned her head towards me, hoping to figure out something.

"What?" I ask.

"Did you figure anything out?" She asks as we all stand up, the Whix girl shaking in fear.

Her eyes seemed to be growing a bit dim and her pupils stayed centered as she just moved her head.

"Do you have your medicine?" Amanda asks as multiple dungeon runners distract the Write head away from us for a few seconds.

"I-I do but I can't find it," The girl says, patting down her own body.

Charna clicks her tongue and it seems we came to the same conclusion.

"She's a burden…" We both say.

But just as we drew our weapons to kill the Whix girl, Amanda moved her out of the way of our attacks and glared at us.

We glared back and conversed through the pseudo-hivemind.

'Why'd you do that?' I ask.

'Can't you see how helpless she is?' Amanda responds but I and Charna weren't having any of it.

'That's exactly why we're getting rid of her,'

And just as Charna finished explaining our reason, a splash of blood squirted on my face.

Huh? Did he miss? But doesn't it teleport directly to me? Or maybe…

"I can't tell if he's faking me out or that's actually a problem he has," I mutter while lowering my stance below some of the dungeon runners in front of me.

The Write head clicked his tongue once again and the fissures below us had expanded, causing all four of us to fall through it.

Krkkkkkk

I instantly made a platform of ice, but it was quickly shattered as the fissure now ravine was quickly closing on us.
