Nolin was stumbling in the snowy area; his aura was so weak that it was barely noticeable. He had been walking for quite some time, and he was struggling to breathe.

"Fuck..."

Mumbled Nolin, and he quickly kneeled down and then sat down. About a minute later, he looked up at the membrane and then leaned back, lying into the dense snow. He closed his eyes and pushed a hand full of snow onto his face, which melted quickly.

"There is no way to run... If I keep running, I will just tire myself out and will give them an easier kill... If I stop running, I will at least have a somewhat honourable death... I am tired of running... My formal self has degraded to such a degree... I am a disgrace to my previous self! I got way too cocky for being in a world with weak mages!"

Thought Nolin, and he pushed another hand full of snow onto his face and a slight smile appeared on his face, and then he continued his inner monologue.

"over the past few years back in that world and here, I got used to being strong, and I haven't felt this feeling for a long time... This iconic feeling kept me alive after many fights and made me who I once was; this feeling fueled my power and will to break out of my chains and push beyond my limits. This feeling I have lost and didn't know how much I needed it... Fighting for my life and being under constant pressure whether I could survive!"

Nolin suddenly sat up, and with a grin on his face, he shook his head, and then he slowly stood up, but his head was lowered, but moments later, a purple beam of energy hit him. Although Nolin was pushed back, he still kept his head lowered, but he was holding his usual green sword in his hand, which he used to block the attack.

"It seems your leader sent three this time..."

Mumbled Nolin as he raised his head and could see three knights pointing their weapons at him. One of them had a long sword; the other two had short swords.

"Great..."

Said Nolin as his aura faded, and his sword grew a bit brighter and then dashed forth. After a few steps, a magic circle appeared behind his legs, and with great speed, he was propelled towards the one holding the long sword. Nolin, without hesitation, slashed his target into two, but the other two knights were fast enough to react to his moves and managed to him. He received a small cut over his left ear and a deeper wound on his right shoulder. Nolin quickly stopped and then turned around to face the other two knights. Suddenly Nolin's eyes widened; he gritted his teeth and dashed to the side, but he was not fast enough; from behind him, a sword flung towards him. Although he minimalised his injury, his left side received a deep cut. Nolin quickly looked around and noticed another knight running towards him. Nolin had no time to idly look around as the other two knights were already next to him and were about to cleave his head off.

Nolin, as a last resort, quickly rolled back, barely dodging the incoming blades, and jumped up. The knights rushed after Nolin, who coughed blood, quickly caused the ground in front of him, and propelled himself back. The moment he cut the ground, a large circle appeared on the ground, and the instant the knights set foot in it, it created a powerful green explosion. Nolin kneeled down and coughed blood again, but he quickly pushed himself up and raised his weapon. The knights who were caught in the explosion were smoking, and their armours were slightly deformed and melted. The knights were running towards Nolin, but the moment Nolin raised his blade, he grabbed his sword with both of his hands and swung it down as hard as he could, creating a powerful green blast. Nolin's attack was strong enough to send back the two damaged knights over to the third one, who just grabbed his sword.

The knights' armour received a serious dent, and although they fell, they stood up as fast as they stopped rolling. As for Nolin, he fell to his knees and vomited blood, and while he was gritting his teeth, he pushed himself up as he was coughing blood; he no longer bothered to cover his mouth with his hands as he was focused on his three knights in front of him. The knights started running towards him, and he did the same, but everything around him, even himself, seemed to move slower for him.

"This is it... This is the feeling that kept me alive! Being at the doorstep of death, fighting in a seemingly unfair and impossible battle... everything slows down."

Thought Nolin as he was running towards the knights, and suddenly a powerful erupted from him, causing his eyes to bleed; Nolin quickly closed his eyes, but moments later, he opened them, and he was surprised for a moment. For a moment, he saw something strange, as if he was seeing the world differently. Instead of knights, he could see three purple figures seemingly made of mist, and his hand was similarly mist-like, but it was green. This strange vision only lasted for a brief moment, and then everything turned back to normal.

"On last push!"

Shouted Nolin in his mind, and his aura violently started burning, and although everything seemed slower, he increased his speed. Nolin aimed at the knight with the undamaged armour, and as he was running as fast as he could and gripping his sword as hard as he could, he managed to cut the man into two; however, the knight managed to inflict some damage on him. The knight managed to cut Nolin's back before Nolin managed to kill him. Nolin stopped running, and instead, he was sliding, and he quickly looted the defeated knight's sword and dashed over to the closest one. Nolin slashed the knight with both of his blades at the same time and used every last bit of his strength; although the man managed to block his attack, Nolin's attack shattered his sword. But the last knight managed to stab Nolin's side, causing him to almost fall to his knees; but instead, he threw his newly acquired sword into the third knight's face as hard as he could and cleaved the second knight with his own blade.

The slashed knight instantly collapsed, but the other was not dead yet; although the sword hit him, it did not injure him, only damaged his armour. Nolin quickly grabbed the knight's hand because he was about to push the blade deeper, and with a swift movement, the knight punched Nolin's face. Nolin coughed blood at the knight's glove, and then Nolin thrust his sword into the knight's helmet, killing him finally. Nolin quickly removed the knight's blade and fell down onto the ground.

"Fuck! If tomorrow they will send two extra knights, I don't think I will be able to survive... I must stay here and focus on healing and getting stronger!"

Mumbled Nolin, and moments later, he coughed blood once again.

"I overused my body... Maybe I should focus on keeping my distance and killing them with magic, but they do have quite sturdy armours... I used quite a great amount of power to create that explosion, but they were barely phased! I couldn't even notice any kind of fatigue after withstanding the blast; they moved just as easily as the one who was unharmed."

Uttered Nolin and the corpses started burning with purple flames, and Nolin closed his eyes and started meditating.
