Chapter 40: Chapter 39

Sometime later Nolin was sitting on a smaller hill. He was staring down upon a vast barren land. Behind him, in the distance, thousands of tents could be seen.

 

"Something is wrong... This feels way too real... I am beginning to get worried" 

 

Thought Nolin while he was just staring at the land before him. He was blankly staring for minutes; he didn't even notice that he was approached by two women wearing similar battle gowns; coloured mainly green but one of them had a slight blueish colour, and the other had some extra red colour around the side of their armour. And a man was following the ladies. The man was wearing full-plated armour with green colour, but his helmet was yellow. Once they got to Nolin the girl with the blueish armour spoke up

 

"Teacher... Is something bothering you? You shouldn't be worried, we will crush them, we know that you are very powerful, and also we have a large army."

 

"I was just lost in thoughts... Anyway, there will be four of them... I want you to lead your armies while I will focus on those four..."

 

"B-but teacher... Doesn't that mean that you want to fight a war all by yourself?"

 

"I meant four powerful fighters... You will have to organise your armies and fend against the enemy soldiers... Be prepared, this will be a long battle!"

 

Added Nolin and he quickly jumped up and looked back at the trio behind him.

 

"But teacher... We do know your power... But even so, taking on the enemy's commanders all by yourself?! I-I am afraid you will get killed."

 

"Just follow what I told you. Do not underestimate me, I do have my own plans. Now go and prepare for the upcoming battle!"

 

"Y-yes, sir!"

 

Replied the girls simultaneously and then they walked away; however, the man remained and gently grabbed Nolin's shoulder.

 

"Teach... Don't be impetuous!"

 

Added the man and moments later walked after the girls. Nolin stayed still and just stared at the ground, and clenched his fists.

 

"I can't stand it... How can I do anything here? This is just an illusion! They already died here because of my failure! But at least here, I will correct my mistake... Back then... I was strong, but I lacked the required experience, but now, I am sure things will be different."

 

Mumbled Nolin, and then he scratched his head. And while he was still staring at the ground, the sky suddenly cracked. Nolin quickly looked up and was surprised.

"I don't remember them coming this way... that crack is too small..."

 

Declared Nolin and he quickly jumped towards the crack while summoning his aura. Nolin started floating not far from the crack and waited patiently. Moments later three creatures descended from the crack. The creatures were coloured white, almost like they were made of marble. Two of them had purple eyes, but the one standing in the middle had red eyes.

 

"What happened? Is this some kind of alternative illusion? They were much stronger back in my time! One of them was tier ten, while the other two were a level below... But now..."

 

Thought Nolin, but was suddenly interrupted as the two purple beings with purple eyes kicked with great force; causing him to draw a green line to the ground. Once Nolin hit the ground he instantly stood up in the crater he had created, as if nothing had happened.

 

"They are a level below... The red eye can barely be considered a tier nine, let alone the other two! What is going on?!"

 

Uttered Nolin as he slowly descended from the crater. Moments later the three creatures landed next to him. However, almost instantly the two purple-eyed beings jumped after Nolin and started punching him. Nolin, however, didn't react; he was pushed back with each punch, and he was just thinking.

 

"This...This is not right...This is not how it should be... That bastard, self-proclaimed god must be the cause of this!"

 

Thought Nolin while he was being continuously punched, and pushed back. Meanwhile, Nolin's student's noticed that Nolin was being pushed back and rushed towards him to help.

 

"Teacher! Let us..."

 

"I am betting annoyed!"

 

Shouted Nolin and grabbed the two creatures' heads and crushed them with his bare hand, and then dashed after the one with red eyes. Before Nolin could reach the creature, Around the creature's hands white aura appeared. The moment Nolin punched the creature's head, Nolin was suddenly blasted back, and he was forced to kneel down.

 

"W-what the fuck was that?! It hurt as hell! It completely penetrated my defence."

 

Uttered Nolin before he suddenly dashed to the side, from the creature's side, a bolt of white lightning hit the ground where Nolin kneeled before.

 

"It must have been just luck, I was not ready and let my guard down!"

 

Shouted Nolin and he was about to dahs back at the creature, but he was hit directly by that white lightning, and Nolin's green aura suddenly turned yellow than for a moment white and then his aura completely vanished and he was blasted back.  Nolin hit two of his students; the one he did not hit managed to jump over him and dash at the opponent.
