Chapter 41: Chapter 40

Nolin found himself back in the cave laying on the ground. He slowly pushed himself up and touched his face and slowly pulled his hand down, and then shook his head.

 

"Finally... That fucking illusion ended... That last thing was way too strange... Despite that opponent being a level below me... That last spell was way too painful... I must get back to my own world..."

 

Asserted Nolin and he quickly stood up. Once he was standing he looked back at the crystals; the black one vanished completely, and the green one turned into the same sword he wielded back in the illusion. However, it was missing the two crystals.

 

"I feel like I learned something from this strange illusion, but when I have time, I must reflect on it!"

 

Thought Nolin and he walked over to the sword and picked it up. Upon touching the blad, Nolin and the sword emitted a green aura, but before the glow vanished, Nolin proceeded to walk away.

 

"I have regained my motivation; my momentum to push forward... I just need to defeat that fifth-tier knight, then the others will be much easier... probably"

 

Mumbled Nolin as stepped outside the cave. He could see two knights being stationed there, and the moment they noticed Nolin, one of them dashed away, and the one who stayed behind dashed at Nolin. A small grin appeared on Nolin's face, and for a moment his eyes glowed with yellow colour, but it soon turned back to green. The knight drew his sword and was about to cleave Nolin's head off, but Nolin quickly jumped back, and the moment his legs touched the ground he launched himself back at the knight, and slew him. The moment the corps hit the ground it ignited and burned with purple fire.

 

"It seems you have managed to get a splendid new weapon... Nolin! Unfortunately, I will have to confiscate it and present it to His Majesty!"

 

Echoed Black's voice in the area, and moments later eight more knights landed next to Nolin.

 

"I was told to test your strength, but unfortunately, I am not that patient... and since you have obtained some helpful items, I guess it is time for me to end it!"

 

Once again echoed Black voice, and, at that time, the knights dashed at Nolin.

 

"My interest is piqued!"

 

Shouted Nolin, and he grabbed his sword with both of his hands and was prepared to engage. The first knight was cut into two vertically. However the other seven were already close to him, so he quickly slashed upwards diagonally injuring another knight, and after casting a spell, he was launched high up in the sky. While being airborne he repositioned himself so that he was looking downwards. Meanwhile, the knights on the ground quickly looked at him, and three of them threw their swords at him. Nolin smiled, and with a green explosion, he propelled himself downwards. He barely missed two of the incoming blades, but the third one slightly cut his chin. And before the knight could have reacted, he hit the ground, cutting one of them down. Once Nolin's legs touched the ground, it created a green energy pulse, causing the other knights to slide back slightly.

Nolin while still smiling was about to dash after his opponents, but suddenly his smile vanished and was about to turn around, but his head was grabbed from behind, and he was thrown away. he hit the ground hard and rolled, but he quickly jumped up, while still sliding, and stopped. 

 

"Playtime is over, Nolin! You have managed to get significantly stronger, that is why I will face you myself!"

 

Heard Black's voice Nolin, but this time it was close, almost as if he was around him; however, Nolin was unable to see anyone around him. Nolin looked around once again, and unconsciously leaned back, just barely evading a wave of purple energy, which hurled just past his nose; although he evaded it, he was quickly punched in the stomach and slid back. Before him, Black stood with an extended fist and holding a strange purple longsword in his other hand. The weapon was similar to Nolin's as it was also made of a special crystal, but it was constantly emitting a purple aura.

 

"Great intuitions but poor reflexes!"

 

"I wouldn't say that... Although you hit me, you are not unscathed!"

 

Said Nolin as he pointed his weapon at Black; who at that time looked at his leg, and found that it had a small green dagger in it.

 

"At first I was thinking about cutting your wrist off, but then I decided that maybe I should spare you a bit longer, and see your face when you real..."

 

"Cutting my wrist off?! Don't make me laugh! Although you are quite strong; considering your current level, but the difference between you and me is not something you can understand!"

 

Declared Black, and suddenly appeared right in front of Nolin, and the two of them clashed; creating a powerful green and purple explosion, and it ended up with both of them sliding back.

 

"Not bad... I take it back, you do have quite great reflexes... You managed to kick me the moment we clashed... But even so; I didn't even feel that kick!"

 

Shouted Black and Nolin started running towards him, however, Black stayed still, and instead slashed the air with his sword, creating a purple slash of energy travelling towards Nolin; However right after that Black grabbed his weapon with two of his hand and with great force swing it down vertically; sending a similar but much more powerful wave of energy at Nolin. 

 

"I would be surprised if you were able to stand up after this!"

 

Shouted Black the moment Nolin blocked the first wave of energy and was being pushed back. Although he managed to slow it down, the second one arrived moments later, and it exploded.
