“Aisling, are you ok? We heard that you had a meeting with the king. How did that go?” asked father.

“Not well, he attacked us and tried to take over the body of his nurse and maid. But it didn’t work. We then heard a rumbling and came here to see what’s the matter,” I explained.

“Oh, that sounds complicated. Well now that you’re here we can explain everything to the others on why we’re so close,” said Ariel.

“What about the forest? Isn’t the whole reason you’re here is to protect it?” I asked.

Her face blanked and she looked at me as if the reason she was here had slipped her mind. Then Olivia walked from behind to my side. Noticing the new girl my sister looked at her and then said:

“she’s so cute and cuddly!”

She then grabbed Olivia and hugged her. Olivia seemed shocked at this and started to panic. She tried to escape but she couldn’t. Ariel’s grip on her was strong.

“don’t run, any friend of my sister is a friend of mine!” said Ariel.

In response to this Olivia started to make cute, flabbergasted anime girl noises. This went on for about ten minutes before father finally got his bearings on the scene and pulled them apart.

“we can’t have you hugging her all day. Look, she’s exhausted. First off we have to get the others and find out what that noise was. Then we can do as we please,” he said in a commanding tone.

After he said that Ariel stood up and saluted him. She then picked me up in her arms as if I were a plushie and caried me off to the manor. The others followed suite. When we made it back to the meeting room all the others were there.

They were huddled over a map of the forest and talking about something.

“the Francian forces are here and here,” said Hera pointing to the southwest and south of the Wirewood, “we need to take them on in tandem to make sure they don’t join up.”

“or we can use guerilla tactics and hold off one group while the other leads the western group into a trap,” countered Gary, Gary was actually a very good tactician.

“I have an idea,” I said, “Ariel, Gary, Gorn and I could take out the western group while the rest of you can hold off the other group till we arrive.”

“that’s a great plan mother. They won’t know what will hit them,” said Gary.

“oh, you’re here? How do you know if you will be able to take on the enemy with only 4 people?” countered Hera.

“There won’t only be 4 of us,” I said.
