Chapter 15: Boss Battle

Darell saw the beast and thought to himself

'A Scorched Raven General'

The Scorched Raven General was a rank 06 beast. It was larger than a horse with its beaks covered by a dark red colour. Its wings were enormous and most of them were covered by a dark red colour. All of its body was covered by a dark red colour which made it seem like it was wearing a dark red coloured armour.

The Raven General looked at Darell and the others while spreading its wings.

All of the Scorched Ravens sitting on the tree took off and flew high up in the sky before dropping down and flying straight towards Darell and the others.

Darell used Sense to find the number of Ravens coming toward them and instantly had a grim expression on his face.

He looked at them and noticed that Ariel also had a grim expression on her face. Ariel, being a Sound ability user, could easily use her skill to find the number of Ravens coming at them.

Darell said, "Looks like we have to fight a million Ravens this time."

He looked at the Raven General and continued.

"All these Ravens are being commanded by the Scorched Raven General. We either have to quickly take him out or we have to fight our way through the Ravens."

Eric said, " The Raven General knows our only option is to take him out first. If we fight our way through the Ravens, we will be extremely worn out and then he can easily kill us."

Everyone nodded their heads.

Lilith sighed and said, "We have to take this seriously even though we are in the training hall."

She closed her eyes and used her rank 03 Mist skill ' Ice Tornado '.

A tornado formed in front of her and it went toward the Ravens. Some of the Ravens caught in the tornado were torn apart while some were turned into ice statues that broke apart instantly.

She gripped her sword and ran toward the Ravens. While using her sword technique 'Sword Dance Of The Mist Empress' that she created, she cut down hundreds of Ravens instantly.

Her battle with the Ravens was so smooth and sharp that it looked as if she dancing while holding the sword in her hand.

All of them were feeling their blood boil when they saw Lilith fight against the Ravens bravely.

Eric's eyes were bloodshot as he banged his gauntlets and ran towards the Ravens. He used his skill 'Earth Armour'. He was covered with a dark brown rock armour all over his body. Thus armour increased his defence, agility as well as strength. His gauntlets glowed with a dark brown colour. He used another skill to create spikes from the ground which pierced hundreds of Ravens instantly. He used the spikes to jump up to the Ravens above him. He caught Raven's wing and climbed onto its back. Then, he forced the Raven to turn around.

When he turned around, he saw hundreds of Ravens coming at him. He grinned wickedly and twisted the Raven's head on whose body he was standing. He used its body as a platform and jumped onto another Raven and killed it. He killed hundreds of Ravens as he punched, kicked and tore apart their bodies.

Emma gripped the daggers in her hands and used her skill Blind. She then jumped up towards the Ravens while slashing their bodies. The Ravens who looked at her were instantly blinded and moved around frantically. She took advantage of this opportunity and killed them instantly. She used another skill 'Conjure'. While she had been absorbing a beast core at the safe floor, she had obtained this skill. This skill can be used to conjure a Light ability beast same as that of the beast which the user wanted to make it from. This meant that the user can create a light ability bear the same as that of a rock bear.

Emma conjured a Light ability, Raven. The Raven was completely white and it had a  blinding light and aura coming out from its body.

The Scorched Raven General saw the abnormal Raven and shivered in fear. He ordered more Ravens to fight Emma and the strange beast.

Emma ordered the Light Raven to blind the incoming Ravens as she sat on it. The Light Raven took off towards the Ravens. Emma used the daggers to kill the blinded Ravens as she flew towards the horde.

Ariel used Death's Scream and the Ravens coming at her abruptly stopped and shouted in pain while shaking their heads. She threw her chakra at them which sliced off their heads. She continued using Death's Scream and killed hundreds of Ravens instantly.

Darell looked at Emma, Lilith, Eric and Ariel and saw them fighting against the Ravens with all their strength.

He clenched his fists and looked at the Raven General. He didn't know why but he was not feeling powerless when he looked at the Raven General. He felt his blood boiling as if it was welcoming a new challenge.

Outside the training hall,

The time for the combat classes had come to an end and all of the students came out of their training halls.

Yet, 5 students were still in the training hall. The events unfolding in their training hall were being shown through a large projection.

All the students and the instructors were watching the events.

These students were none other than Darell, Eric, Emma, Lilith and Ariel.

One of the subordinates of Abel saw the projection and ran off to find him.

A little far away, Abel was shouting and hitting at one of his subordinates.

"Why couldn't you defeat the Ice serpent?

It was just a rank 02 beast. Didn't you proclaim that you could defeat a rank 03 beast? "

He looked at his subordinate who was looking at him with pitiful and teary eyes.

Abel smirked and said "You lied to me. So, your price of lying to me is your tongue."

He took out a dagger and grabbed his mouth.

The subordinate panicked and cried "Please, Lord Abel! Forgive me. I was just scared."

He pleaded for mercy but all his pleas fell on deaf ears.

Abel cut off his tongue mercilessly while the subordinate shrieked and screamed in pain.

Another subordinate came running to him. He stopped and shivered in fear as he saw the bloody scene. But, he gulped down his vomit and reported "Lord Abel! Eric and his group are still in the training hall."

Abel wiped the blood off his dagger and casually put it in his pocket.

"Oh! Well, then lead the way. I also want to see what's taking them so long."

He arrived at the place and saw the commotion in front of the training hall.

When he looked at the projection, he smiled wickedly and said "They are fighting a rank 06 beast. If they are injured seriously and don't defeat it, they are bound to be humiliated."

Meanwhile,

Athena, Lin and Walter were watching the projection with serious expressions.

Walter said "If anything serious happens, take them out quickly. We don't want them to be injured on the first day."

Athena and Lin nodded.

Lin said "I have watched these kids grow up. I am sure they will defeat the General."

Athena said" But the main problem is how they will defeat it. "

She looked at the projection and muttered to herself.

" A Boss Battle ..."
