Chapter 30: Tasting Defeat

The Draathil roared and created a large army of orcs, goblins, orcs, lizardmen, centaurs, etc.

It ordered its army to attack Darell and his group. The army roared and charged toward them.

Lilith, Eric, and Ariel readied their weapons and got ready to attack.

Darell, on the other hand, decided to not fight because he saw Emma's helpless condition.

Emma had an Ice barrier created by Lilith surrounding her but she still could feel the pressure.

Her face was deathly pale and her expression was contorted due to the pain she was feeling. Her body was twitching in pain.

Darell was helping her bear the pressure by giving her potions but he knew that it won't help her much.

Lilith, Eric, and Ariel had decided to go all and use all their skills although they could feel pain coursing through their veins and their hearts were beating rapidly.

Eric had his dark brown Earth armor on him which increased his defense and strength.

His gauntlets had a dark brown glow.

Eric jumped while running towards the army. He used Spiked Ground and punched the ground while landing on it. Dozens of spikes shot up from the ground and penetrated the bodies of the monsters. The dead bodies of the monsters fell to the ground when the spikes disappeared into the ground.

He then created four Earth golems who held a sword and shield in either hand. They started to cut down the monsters when they were ordered to do so.

Eric used a rank 04 skill Fragments of Self.

He raised his hands upwards and several boulders were created out of the ground. He then gestured the boulders towards the army. The boulders crushed thousands of monsters in the army. 

Eric then used another skill which was called Earthquake. He felt an overwhelming power in his fists. He punched to the ground which made it violently tremble.

Thousands of monsters in the army lost their balance. He then punched the ground again which created a crack in the ground. This crack extended towards the monster army and instantly the ground beneath their feet broke apart and they fell.

Ariel used Death's scream which emitted a loud shrieking cry from her mouth. This instantly caused a sharp pain in the monsters' heads. While they were distracted, she threw her chakra which cut down some of the monsters.

She used a rank 03 skill Sound Bolt. Her hands were glowing with white color. She had condensed the sound waves around her to create bolts.

She then threw one of the bolts toward the monsters. The bolts hit one of the monsters and instantly expanded and blasted.

The surrounding monsters had their heads blown apart and some of the monsters who miraculously survived were lying on the ground twitching their bodies.

Ariel continued to throw the bolts which killed thousands of monsters.

She then used Tremor Inducer which caused more monsters to fall and she killed them by crushing them with the rocks.

Lilith brandished her sword and mercilessly cut down the monsters as she used her sword technique 'Sword Dance Of Mist Empress'. 

She used a rank 03 Mist spell Mist Blast. Several crystal balls formed with a white exterior and a shiny blue interior. She threw these balls toward the monsters. The balls blasted upon coming in contact with the monsters. The force from the blast tore apart the weaker monsters' bodies while the stronger ones were encased in ice. 

Still, the monsters didn't stop at their onslaught and ran through them as they stepped on their comrades' bodies and broke apart the encased bodies that were trapped in ice.

She clicked her tongue and used another Mist skill Ice Tornado. A tornado as wide as thirty mountains formed which moved towards the monsters.  The monsters unlucky enough to be pulled away by the tornado were turned into ice statues and disintegrated slowly.

Darell was not sitting still while watching his friends fight against the monster army. When he saw Emma fall unconscious, he used his skill Space Arsenal on her.

Since she had a barrier of ice around her, he hoped his skill would work on her although he was still skeptical about it.

When he saw Emma disappear, he sighed in relief because this would prevent any unforeseen damage to her and it would help Darell to fight the monster army with utmost concentration.

He instantly ran towards the monsters and cut them down with his sword. He activated Death's Touch while killing the monsters. He also sometimes used Reaper Fist if his sword got lodged in one of the monsters or if it was thrown too far for him to reach.

Also, he used Nihility while fighting the monsters because he thought it was better to be prepared in case the Draathil tries to sneak attack him.

After a few hours, the army of the monsters diminished significantly. But, Darell and his group were feeling tired due to the consumption of the mana. 

The Draathil growled at them and created another army of monsters which increased the number of the monsters.

All of them sighed and fought the monsters after they had consumed the last of their potions.

The battle had reached its end after a few hours in which Darell and his group emerged as the victor.

The Draathil growled and didn't wait for them to recuperate. Its antlers glowed with a brilliant white light and it shot a white beam towards them.

Darell saw the light orb forming on its antlers and realized that it would be grave if it hit them.

He instantly teleported them away from the spot before the beam hit them.

The Draathil growled and shifted the beam of white light towards the spot where Darell and the others were standing.

Darell teleported them again. He could feel that none of them were in any condition to fight the Draathil.

He instantly stopped the training and carried the unconscious Emma and led the others to the medicine hall.

Emma and the others were treated and healed.

She woke up after a few hours and checked her environment. When her sight fell on Darell chatting with Lilith at her side, she sighed in relief.
