Chapter 47: Progress

In the room 12,

A bonfire lit up a part of the room which illuminated the surroundings.

Five individuals were sitting around the bonfire while eating breakfast.

Although they couldn't see the daylight at the moment, they all had a simple clock to verify the time.

Darell was eating a simple bread and jam sandwich with some milk while Lilith, Emma, and Ariel were having eggs, bread, and cheese for breakfast. 

Eric on the other hand was stuffing his mouth with ham and eggs with bread and milk on the side. 

After satisfying their hunger, all of them checked their armor, potions, and weapons to see if they were broken or not. 

Then, they entered room 13.

The room was a common eerie dark room without any illumination or monster. 

Without wasting any time, they entered the next room. 

Room 14 had similar features to room 13 but there were monsters present. 

There were 15 trolls roaming around the room. Each troll was carrying a weapon on its shoulder. 

Darell signaled them to quickly attack the unsuspecting monsters. 

He already had the strength to overpower the monsters. 

So, he teleported towards them and gave one of the trolls a perfect right hook which shattered the poor troll's lower half face. 

He then picked up its weapon and smashed it down on the troll and killed it. 

Without giving the rest of the trolls any chance to react, he teleported over them and used the weapon to swing at them using half of his strength. 

The trolls' faces were broken and they twitched repeatedly as their bodies lay on the cold floor. 

He then used his sword to cut open their chests to extract the cores. 

After he took out the three cores, he walked towards the platform. 

Seeing so many shiny pieces of copper and civer would make any commoner's heart fill with greed and malice but not for Darell.

His father earned 100 silver coins a month and earned a good amount of gold coins every year. 

This amount was more than enough to feed and take care of the Rogers family of four. 

Upon viewing that everyone else had extracted the cores and were ready to head to the next room, he hurriedly stored the coins in his inventory and followed them to room 15.

A shallow pit lied on the north side of the room and the north and west walls are covered with veins of green crystals.

"What are these?" Eric asked upon spotting the veins of green crystals. 

Ariel carefully inspected them and replied, "If I remember correctly, these are likely traps. If someone becomes greedy and plucks them out, the crystal would explode into a poisonous mist."

After hearing the explanation, they steered away from the crystals. 

After exploring the room, they found no monsters. So, they moved on to the next room. 

The next room was circular and there was only one other door on the west side of the room. 

As they carefully looked around, they found 25 trolls in the room. 

After all of them found no traps set in the room, they attacked the trolls. 

Eric threw Earth Bullets at the trolls which some of them blocked while two were slightly injured. 

The trolls threw Earth Bullets at him but Eric quickly cast Earth Shield and successfully blocked them. 

Eric saw that three of the trolls were moving in separate directions. 

He had an idea with which he could deal with them all at once but he needed them to be together. 

So, he raised his leg and hit the floor while casting a nameless spell that he created. 

A large part of the floor rose from the ground and hit the trolls who were thrown back together at the same spot. 

As he saw that all of them were in the same place, he cast the same spell again and the floor under the trolls rose and threw them toward Eric. 

As they were in mid-air, Eric cast Spiked Ground on the spot where they should land. 

The trolls landed exactly on the spikes and died tragically as the spikes pierced through their bodies.

He looked around and saw that Darell and Lilith were extracting the cores while Emma and Ariel were counting the coins from the platform. 

So, he hurriedly began collecting the cores.
