A/N: Alright, so honestly, I want to get rid of all my stock for new year, and I just wanted your guys' opinion on that. Because, at this point, I'm just dragging out the inevitable, and, at one point, the stock is gonna run out due to my writing schedule, and I don't want to prolong it anymore. A notice though, once the stock runs out, it'll be only two chapters a week because I am a student after all and I don't have all the time int he world to just be sitting there, writing novels, so yeah, decide whether you want to prolong the inevitable or just get a mass release of like, 10 chapters as a New Year's gift (The 10 chapters do contain my best written arc ever, so...).
Oh yeah, also to those that are wondering wtf this arc is, looking back on it now, I honestly don't like it either, but I have to include it because it sets up the arc mentioned above, the best one I've ever written, and it'd be really hard for me to rewrite everything just to set up that arc, so yeah, sorry for these kinda weird chapters.
Anyways, peace, here's an extra chap.
Fire.
The epitome of the four elements.
When you thought of a cool power that you would want, and you had to choose between the four elements, which one would you choose?
Fire, of course.
It was a no brainer.
Need healing like water magic? Go cauterize your wounds. Sure, it hurts more, but it has the exact same effect. Holy fire also does the same thing as even the best healing spells.
Need to fly in the air like wind magic? Your jetpacks are your hands, nothing else needed to be said.
Need to protect yourself like earth magic? Make a fire wall that when hit with water, will cause steam to be formed, adding an additional impairment to the enemy's vision.
Then, there was attack power.
Obviously, fire was the best, it was really a no brainer.
And don't even get me started on how fire was the absolute best thing to use when torturing another person.
Want to do it quickly? Go burn the fuck out of them.
Want to do it slowly? Let them wallow for days in a hundred twenty degree plus room, they'd break in less than a week guaranteed.
Finally, the last reason why fire was the best element.
It was immaterial.
Wind, water, earth, they literally just represented the three basic states of matter.
But, as for fire, it was on a higher plane.
Basically, nothing could touch it.
It wasn't made of anything after all, it was just "seeable energy" using the simplest definition of "fire".
Furthermore, because one wasn't violating the law of conservation of energy when conjuring fire, as they were switching between mana, which was a form of energy, to fire, which was also a form of energy, it made it so that casting fire magic was a whole lot faster and had a much better energy to attack power conversion rate than using one of the other elemental magics, just because they were violating the law of conservation of mass.
After all, it was impossible to turn energy into mass, so the other three types of magic where dependent on the fact that this was a fantasy world with no understanding of physics, and so it was just an accepted fact that the author of this damned book had written into this world.
'Damned world violating the laws of physics.'
Honestly, I was starting to wonder if there were even rules to this world.
Because, if there wasn't, then that would mean...
...there was no barrier keeping someone back from ascending to godhood.
Of course, this wasn't my goal, so I wouldn't even pursue the idea.
But if I could test this theory out sometimes, it wouldn't hurt, right?
Anyways, back to the current situation, I had already ascended up a fair amount of the volcano and had almost reached the top.
And there, I would do the "impossible", for most people trapped in this maze that is.
It would have been no less than a casual walk for my dad if he knew where this artifact was.
But he didn't, and so I would get it first.
With it also being a bonded artifact that could hide itself, well lookie here, I was set!
Looking down at the bubbling pool of magma constantly churning as little bits continuously flowed over the top of the crater, I immediately dove into the volcano without a second of hesitation.
As of now, the watchers couldn't see me anymore, as I had entered the artifact's domain.
And this was one hell of a powerful artifact, an artifact that my sister had taken from the dead corpse of the "protagonist" of this arc, eventually using it to overwhelm and kill the previous Lysander in the final battle.
With this artifact being bound to me in this timeline, no such thing would happen.
'That's one more death flag erased.'

Slowly sinking through the magma, I waited.
'Come on, it should be around here.'
With doubt starting to grip my mind, I asked Angel to give me "eyes" on the situation.
'It's not within 25 meters of me?'
Well, that was concerning.
Then again, it could also be because the artifact was too powerful to begin with.
The only reason the "protagonist" of this arc had actually died was because they couldn't use mana, and thus couldn't use the artifact to its fullest extent.
'Where is this fucking thing?'
Honestly man, if this thing wasn't here, then I wouldn't know what to do.
'She couldn't have gotten here already, so.... Ah!'
Then, realization hit me, harder than my uncle's di...
Actually, I'm not going to finish that sentence.
Yeah, big mistake on my part for even thinking about that.
Gives me shivers, even if I've never had an uncle before...
Breaking myself away from this weird chain of thought, I quickly turned to the problem at hand.
'So, she had been fully in human form when she jumped in, believing in the fire res she had bought and drunk just beforehand. The problem for me is that I'm already in here, so I can't drink a fucking potion goddamnit!'
'What to do... what to do...'
Wait, couldn't I just...
'Angel: Buy a fire res potion and absorb it into my body.'
After all, Angel could do anything as long as I had enough mana.
But damn, as soon as I felt that fire res hit, I could also feel almost all of my mana draining.
'Drinking through your skin must be illegal or something if it takes this much mana to do it.'
But, I had achieved my goal, so there was no point regretting anything at this point.
'Angel: Deactivate.'
Then, I was there.
And, not a second later, something flew straight at me and hit me in the chest.
I fucking blacked out yet again.
What was up with this author and his MCs blacking out?
Fucking sadistic author.
I probably couldn't even ram someone properly without the author making me faint halfway through the deed.
Imagining all the blood I would fall into face-first because of the fainting, I couldn't help but wince in disgust.
After all, that blood would be mixed with their smashed up brain bits, and that would just be something disgusting to take a bath in.
Oh, you thought I was talking about a different form of "ram"? Welp, too bad.
And then there was also the fact of me fainting every time something new popped up.
That was just annoying.
At least this time, it was a little bit justified.
It was definitely not to end off the chapter on a pseudo-cliffhanger.
Definitely not...
But, damn.
