Chapter 3: Trouble is already knocking

Making their way to the forest while carrying his axe, Mike asked his sister with a smiley face trying to learn few things that he is wondering about,  doing his best to act like the ex owner of his body, " did u manage to reach tier 1 or you still not there yet little sis?" 

When Mike was checking the owners memories earlier, he noticed that the indicator of strength in this world goes by tier and even the system told him that in the invisibility skill description before. And that goes for both mages and warrior's of course. 

In the memories there only existed 6 tiers from tier 1 to tier 6, but he is guessing there might be more than that, but he simply doesn't have much information about it, well if that's the limit or no, that's something that I won't care about and don't need for now. 

But Mike mainly asked that question to figure out what he is dealing with here. Because he did know that bullying is just the appetizer and when his sister get's married that will be his death, because they won't be kind enough to let him leave the village alive and come back to take revenge on them or something of that sort later on ( after all they don't know that the real Mike is dead) , and that's another reason why he already went out to try and get some experience on the get go. 

Hearing his question Jessica looked at him with a surprised expression at first but she still chose to answer him, after all she's prideful and love to show off, which is normal for a teenager arround her age, so she strenghed her back saying with a superiors tone . " Not yet, but my father told me that I should be able to breakthrough in a matter of weeks it's just that i need to circulate my mana for few dozens of time and I'll manage to hit tier 1"

Mike wasn't surprised cause circulating own's mana might sound easy but it actually takes a lot of focus, effort and specially time. 

Because just having a tier 1 book can get you to tier 1 mage / warrior so it's not that hard from tier 0 to 1 but mainly time consuming. 

after a moment of silence she added chuckling " it just sucks that you are already 22 and can't even circulate your mana or feel it in the first place, don't you feel shame that your little sister is already way stronger than you" she started laughing at the end of how pathetic her brother is despite his age. 

after all Bell and the other villagers are already getting stronger and cultivating hard to build their future while her brother is simply usless. 

It's true that not being able to sense mana is not his fault but he should at least try way harder on martial arts or keep trying to feel the mana somehow, but he simply gave up years ago. Because to advance in tiers on martial arts at first 2 tiers mana isn't mandatory and you can advance with pure skills and strength, but of course with mana it's way better. 

So people can reach tier 2 if they learn good enough techniques and practice them till almost perfection, of course only if it's added with enough resources like pills and potions or simply insane hard work if you won't use any external help so it doesn't depend on cultivating at first. 

" Then I'll be counting on you in protecting me in the forest, after all I'm so weak and people with strength should take responsibility towards the weak specially if it's your siblings" Mike answered randomly.

He was never counting on her in the first place, hell he is even afraid that she might backstab him with the other guys to get in their good shoes, after all she's been doing that since her parents told her that she's gonna be marrying the young master of the Bardo family Bell . But thinking about it, even without bringing her, things are gonna be risky anyway + she might follow me even if I shut down her offer, so I might as well lead this sister with me and the future me will figure out what to do if something goes wrong.

Speaking up to this point, Mike seemed to remember something after his little question and asked the system.

" System, since I can see my info then can I do the same to other people and check theirs as well? Or is it only exclusive to me" Mike asked something that will be crucial in his journey to avoid fights he can't take.

[ Yes, the host can see other people information, all you have to do is say scan] . 

Seeing the answer the system gave him, he instantly said scan after looking at his sister , after saying the command he saw a blue panel popping in front him like the one he have but only with less information than his.

Seeing the death threat that his sister can cause, Mike immediately started to think of a new plan for his incoming crisis. And at the same time he was so happy about how useful the system is in letting you  know the chances of death that someone can cause , so that at least he won't underestimate his future enemies. 

After all he expected that he can still handle himself with the villagers if they come at him, and that confidence came from his skill that he obtained from chokatabra.

So he simply neglected the biggest threat and the closest to him which was his sister,  in a dangerous situation, she was gone be the threat if they choose to go overboard with the bitting today. 

And with how strong his sister is, he just doesn't wanna imagine Bell's strength which is stronger than his sister cause of the resources he obtains from his family. 

Mike started regretting the idea of going to the woods without more information, after all he saw the guys in the memories already but he simply saw a normal bullying and from time to time a normal ball of fire which it didn't hurt much so he couldn't evaluate how strong they were, and his first plan was actually to ambush them one by one if possible and be done with that pain in the a** so he can start getting what he needs for his departure, and start his life towards his goal for real in this world. 

But after seeing Jessica panel, he honestly already have the urge to go back and hide in his house and sneak away at night with invisibility so he can be alone and no one tailing him, but sadly it's too late to go back so I better take my chances in the forest than in an open street inside the village. 

Because yeah u totally guessed right this time as well , they are already tailing him the moment he left the house, which I'm guessing those are simply the subordinates of that young master, but the news of him leaving his house heading towards the woods probably already reached his ears. 

Ah dude it really sucks how my soul chose this pathetic body, but at least this is much more fun hehehe. 

In a not far away place from where Mike is, a handsome yellow haired boy with blue eyes that seems to be wearing clothes indicating of how wealthy he is.

Was sitting on a chair that almost looked like a throne at the end of a hall, the hall was actually so big that it can actually accumulate tens of people with ease.

The boy seemed to be busy thinking about something when suddenly a guard came running his way, after reaching in front of the throne, the guard kneeled in 1 knee while looking at the young man in front of him with fear and reverence.

After all the young man in front of him which was called Bell Bardo the heir of the Bardo family, is already a tier 1 mage at the age of 17 and he is the pride of the Bardo family and his village, he already learned the basic skills of their family tier 1 books with perfection the moment he broke through to tier 1, which are called [ fire ball ] and [ fire wall ] , both are tier 1 spells that only the Bardo family have in their village. 

" What made you come running all the way here and disturb my train of thoughts, it better be something useful or don't blame me for being rude" Bardo asked a little bit annoyed of how he got disturbed without even bothering to look at the kneeling guard.

" Young Master, you asked me to watch over Mike and my subordinates just spotted him leaving his house and heading towards the forest with his sister" the guard relayed what his subordinates told him without delay.

"Oh, that old thing actually dared to come out even though he knows that his sister is nearing her tier 1, and he won't be staying alive for long, interesting, really interesting. Doesn't he know that his sister is waiting for the day we actually kill him so she can get the heir position and marry me?"

The guard was at a loss at what to answer, after all if he was in Mike's shoes he would have already either run away or suicided on the spot since basically waiting for death is usless, so the guard was simply confused at what Mike is even doing by going out at such crucial days, even if he gets bullied today like always and won't die, the moment his sister reaches tier 1 that will be his days doom.

Not waiting for an answer from the guard, Bell simply gave a random command to his subordinate to take care of him like always, but not kill him since that will damage his reputation and Jessica's which is not beneficial for both of them for now, when he takes over their family then killing Mike will be as easy and normal like killing an ant.

It turns out that the only reason Mike is still alive is just so his parents won't cancel the marriage the 2 families arranged with each other and destroy his plans, which is to gain control of the Souma's family.

U might wonder what worth would a tier 0 family have to a tier 1 family like the Bardo family, that's easy to answer. The Souma's family which is Mike's family used to be a tier 2 noble family in arceyna city which was true that it was of the lowest rankings in the circle of noble families, but after decades of being a tier 2 noble family in a small city that it's population doesn't exceed 8 million ,they will sure have some tier 1 or even tier 2 books and gear if they were lucky.

And getting those tier 1/2 books or gear will be absolutely needed if they wanna advance and become a tier 2 noble family from a tier 1 family, after all one of the conditions a tier 1 family must have to get to tier 2 noble family is having at least one tier 2 mage or warrior in the family and 20 tier 1's.

U might say how can a tier 1 family get 20 tier 1's on the same level as Bell and even a tier 2, well it all depends on magic books and ofc talent and resources ( but that's mainly mandatory after reaching tier 3 because from there things gets really hard to advance in tiers) . After all if the Bardo family distribute its magic book that it's only available to their main family and the elders but not the guards, servants to everyone . Then ofc their family will have more experts at tier 1, after all the Bardo family only gave out the martial arts book to everyone and kept the magic book, since mages are stronger than warriors at lower tiers.

So if the Bardo family goes and give their magic book then they might even get back stabbed by their guards and servants and their whole family will crumble, but if they gain a tier 2 magic book, then giving up their tier 1 won't be anything major and threatening and they will have to do that so their family gain more experts at the tier 1 level anyway.

Thinking up to this point, Bell decided to pay the Souma's family a visit to put a date for the wedding and be done with this, after all to keep waiting till Jessica gets to tier 1 is a little boring and a waste of time so he better hasten the process and take over their family as soon as possible , he even forgot about Mike's existence since the guy was a dead man walking in his eyes.
