Chapter 5: Leveling up

John and Sezar never bothered to hide themselves so they were open for Mike to notice them. 

'Yeah guys go ahead and keep watching and only start your job after I level up ahahaha' , the reason I noticed them tailing behind me back in the village is simply cause John and Sezar were open for me to actually notice them, like what they are doing now for example. 

After all this is not the first time that the ex owner of this body will get followed and then beat up so they never bothered hiding themselves. 

However he simply had to do something so he can keep living under the same roof as his parents, so the dead Mike never bothered to care much about the bullying since he had nothing to resist them with and he didn't want to get kicked from the house, or else he might end up dead in a matter of days considering how weak he was so he followed the same routine almost everyday. Even though he knows that he won't survive for long if his sister got to tier 1 or got married. 

After walking for some time Mike finally saw a Bear wandering arround in the forest, so he instantly turned to Jessica and said " Yo, little sis seems that those trees are of good quality can you please help me in killing that bear so I can start doing my work?". 

After saying that he said scan to check the bears panel. 

Almost instantly the same screen popped in front of him showing the bears info.

Hmm seems like it is species instead of race for beasts but who cares. niceeee actually a level 10 from the get go, this will really help me leveling up by who knows how many levels, but at least i will still gain some levels even if the experience obtained wasn't a lot. Since the difference in levels is 10. 

Hearing Mike's words Jessica locked into the bear that she'd already noticed a while ago before even reaching here.

Not bothering with her brother, she instantly casted earth bullets on the bear after noticing that the mana radiance coming out of the bear, is only that of a low leveled monster not even close to tier 1.

The moment the bear noticed the two humans not far away from him, he roared in anger which he probably meant forthem to stay out of his territory, but while he was at it Jessica already fired the earth bullets, seeing that they wanted to fight the Bear roared angrily again and instantly charged ahead pushing his right claw in front of his face to block the earth bullets.

But to his surprise, more than half of the bullets which means 4 hit him directly in the face that was being covered by his claw and one of the bullets even managed to burst out his eye, upon seeing the bloody mess the face of bear was in and how it looked easy to do that damage with 1 spell, Mike passion and thirst for power instantly skyrocketd, after all if people can manage this magic at tier 0 lvl 22 then what about tier 2, 3 or even 6.

But outside, Mike was still wearing the same calm expression as ever, and he doesn't need to fake a panicked one since the ex owner of his body did witness a lot of this, after calming himself down a little, he started to run his brain at full speed on how to manage to get a hit in the bear without arousing suspicion. 

But to his good fortune he already found one a few seconds later, even though it will look weird and out of character but for experience of this lvl 10 bear Mike won't mind it. 

After loosing 1 eye, the bear instantly became enraged and charged foraward without a care in the world just so he can kill that human that dared to attack him in his territory and taking an eye from him, the charge of the bear with full force it little bit surprised Jessica but that was only for a second, and she instantly started moving mana inside her body to cast earth wall to block the incoming bear charge.

However when she almost finished casting the spell, Mike jumped at her hugging her from her waist and dragging her down with him rolling for few seconds on the ground .

 Jessica and even the bear were both speechless at this sight, even the bear knew that Jessica was almost gonna finish her spell and deal a good blow at him, much less the human next to the girl. 

The bear couldn't control his speed to stop after loosing his target so he directly bumped into a tree behind Jessica.

Upon stabilizing herself and seeing her brothers eyes that looked at her worriedly Jessica knew that this good for nothing thought that the bear was gonna get her so she instantly said with anger in her tone " I didn't need your help and I won't be needing it so if you ever do such a thing again and disturb my spell cause of your stupidity I will kill you myself".

She didn't put much thought to what her brother did because she just learned the earth wall spell not long ago and Mike never saw her using it so she instantly throwed those thoughts into the back of her mind and started casting the spell again so she can cage the bear between the tree and her earth wall.

Sadly for Jessica, Mike was not even listening to her complaining. He was instead focusing his eyes on the axe that was stuck on the bears side, he almost jumped out of joy cause of his stupidity for forgetting that he can act as a caring brother and throw the axe to deal some damage at the same time even if it's neglected.

But well that doesn't seem like it will work again so he first looked at the bear that Jessica already trapped between her wall and the tree, he was fascinated by how she can make the earth's wall a little circular in shape so she can trap the bear inside. 

But Mike wasn't that surprised since he knew this magic skills are basically nothing in towns and cities, after reading all those novels almost nothing will surprise him here.

After few seconds of Jessica bombarding the Bear with earth bullets which it seemed that it didn't consume much of her mana despite casting it 4 times with an earth wall, he heard a boom caused from the bears body hitting the ground, and instantly after that a few system notifications entered his ears.

About the mana consumption, he chose to think about it on another day, when he fixes his body problem about not being able of cultivating. So he instantly opened the system to check his harvest.

Seeing the added points on his stats, and the feeling of getting stronger that was penetrating his soul and bones.

 Mike knew for sure that he will get addicted to this feeling,  this is like eating after being without food for so long and the feeling of him getting stronger is way better , after getting the feel of his new body for few seconds.

Mike moved his eyes seight to the 8 free points of distribution, he already knows what they mean so he started pondering for a moment over where to put them, Jessica was busy dismanteling the bear to get the most profitable of it like his claws or fur specially since it's winter, so he could take some time  to put things together. 

He first went for what he really needed for his hunt which will turn a little bloody even more later, knowing that he went for strength and added all 8 points on them. 

He mainly did it so he can have a burst of damage the moment he goes out of his invisibility later on, he doesn't need MP since he can't use it now, and he for sure doesn't need the others since he will mainly close up on them one by one with invisibility. 

After his distribution of points, he felt another burst of energy that run through his whole body and now he actually felt a little more the increase in the strength by simply looking at the little new muscles on his body and specially his abdominal that got a little better than his skinny self before. 

While Jessica was checking the Bear, she noticed the axe stuck at his side while trying to change his position, she of course knew who it belonged to so she instantly questioned. " Yo there, what is your axe doing on the bear instead of the trees. You better give me a good explanation for this". 

Mike actually forgot about the axe cause of how focused he was on the system , but upon hearing his sisters question he thought about it for a moment and answered with an embarrassed expression " I. I actually was afraid of how fast that Bear was charging at you, so at that moment I jumped on u trying to get you out of his path, and so I throwed my axe targeting his side so you can have an easier fight, I'm sorry sister if that wasn't of help to you or disturbed your fighting. I just couldn't let myself watch as my sister was almost hit by that wild bear ". 

After hearing her brothers answer, Jessica felt some warmth dwell inside of her for few moments but she directly suppressed it and said nonchoantly " I appreciate your good intentions, but I'll say it again that I don't need you, so simply go take care of your job since we don't have all day long" after saying that, she pulled the axe out of the bears side and tossed it gently in front of Mike, after all she can accidentally kill him if she throws it at him. 

Mike hurriedly answered with "it won't happen again little sis and thank you for killing the bear I'll start cutting this few trees right away ahaha" he laughed akkwardly at the end while scratching the back of his head. 

"Yeah, you do that till I finish this bear" Jessica gave a casual command while going back to her work as well.
