Chapter 11: Ch 11. Library

He arrived in the 3rd floor only to see that the floor was really small. Compared to the 1st one it was like drop of an ocean. Even though it was small compared to the 1st floor, it was big on its own right. The reason for it was because only the important books and records needed are kept on this floor. And this floor is heavily guarded with various magic security like the one in teleportation room to queen's palace, and there are also various deadly magic traps.

Glade without having any fear walked through shelves to see if anything interests him. Then he saw books. And to his surprise, all of them were necessary to him. There was no extra or unusable book in shelves. 

"The History of Gloria", "Fairy and it's neighbours", "Fairy technologies", "The travel to sky and it's difficulties", "The Zodiac records", etc.

All books were full of highly important content for him. To not waste any time, he took out five random books and sat on floor and started reading one which came to his hand.

The book which came to hand was the book named - "Fairy and it's neighbours". This book tells about all species that exists when Gloria was in land.

This book was written by a foreign affairs minister who visited most countries for peace and trade relations.

"I, being the minister for foreign affairs had the duty to make connections between Gloria and other countries made by different races. There many races with their different culture and traditions. And to make contact with them, I had to research about them to make them see us with goodwill. And to pass down this knowledge for the greater good I wrote this book."

The first page of the book was an author's note about the reason he wrote the book. Glade turned the page to see the contents and saw that every races listed on it and for every race, a chapter was written on it.

From humans the most common races to merflok the most rarest. The former minister wrote about their country and their traditions.

Glade knew that this book is very important and he selected it in his important points need to survive. But he saw a book which was more important than this book for him.

"Monsters and about them."

Monster or beasts are the species which are hunted in the world. Like Goblins, Kobolds, Ogres to Wyverns and Dragons.

The materials obtained from them is very useful so they are hunted.

In normal the species which are not humanoids normally aren't treated as a superpower race. Though there are exemptions like Dragons who are the strongest beast in the world but that was before Zodiacs.

Glade has to accommodate in this world. Knowing about the civilization was important but knowing about monsters is more important than that. He could live even without being in a civilization, but if he didn't knew about the monsters would he become a feast for them.

And another reason for reading this book was to find more about this Zodiacs. The most powerful beasts who came out of nowhere and took on the world. 

After screening through many books, he could see how mysterious these Zodiac beasts are. And the legend of defeating them. For now this is the only way to find about Blossom. By defeating them, he can get a wish.

Even if this is a legend, this is the only way. The most simple and most hardest. Glade opened the book and started reading it.

"Goblins are over populated because of their reproduction....."

The alarm rang loudly in every floor. In every floor there is an alarm which rings when dawn comes up. The time to close the public library. 

Glade already completed several books. The book about races and the book about monsters, he completely memorized it. Now, he thought of issue the book before the counter closes.

"I better take this book. Tonight I will complete it. This book about the Zodiacs."

Glade placed the rest of the books which were on floor and with the "Mysterious Beasts - Zodiacs" book rushed to the 1st floor where the counter was.

As he arrived, he saw many other fairies leaving the library in a very silent manner. The most notable thing about library is its silence.

Glade who was in rush calmed himself and walked to the counter. There he saw an old woman fairy with round glasses reading a book.

"Excuse me."

The old lady raised her head and saw Glade. And then she saw the book in his hand. She guessed that Glade must be her to issue the book. She closed the book by placing a bookmark on it.

Glade who was standing saw the name of the book.

"A Destined Girl."

It piqued his interest. Just he was going to turn the cover, the old lady came which made him withdraw his hands quickly.

The old lady bought a register. And then she gave him a pen and told him to write his ne and the name of the book.

Glade took the pen and wrote it. Then a glow appeared and the old lady closed the register.

"You can take the book. But return it in 14 days. And don't damage the book. Or else you will pay fine."

Glade nodded and took the book and came out of the library.

"Today was a good day. I got to know the various knowledge of this world. But why does that book piqued me? It was like my instinct told me even though the cover was bland and the name of the book wasn't that good. Thinking about that won't do. I have many other works to do. I can't waste my time. Tonight I have to finish this book. Zodiacs.... Wait for me."
