THREE DAYS LATER
ASH'S POV
today is the day, the day that the Duke's greatest knights would be here. well that's what I've heard from my father anyways. he mentioned that to me three days ago when he and Sack's father joined us on our training section. my father sounded a bit on edge when he had told me that the other day, is he mabye concerned about the knights heading twords this village or probably something else entirely. after all we are nothing more than commoners and in order to become a knight one first has to have or obtain a noble title. nobles look down at those who are less fortunate then them, history tells us so.
so i only hope nothing major will happen. i am currently with both my father and Sack's father Carl at the front entrance of this small village. my father wasn't going to let me go with him to meet the knights at first, but then he changed his mind by saying "this could be a good learning experience, about how one should treat a noble." we have been waiting here for about an hour and i half or it could be more i don't know. after all their hasn't been a simpler way to tell the time other than looking at the sun that is.
at the far distance i was able to see a few silhouette heading our way riding what appears to be horses. "Ash listen to me, when they get near us bow to show respect and what ever you do don't raise your head until they tell you otherwise" my father tells me with a serious tone while looking at me. i nod to show i understand than look back ahead to the now clearly visible people on horse backs. the one on the front looks to be the leader since his form of attire appears to be much more refined and prestiged than the other two. the other two unlike the first have clothes much less prestige, but not far behind the first.
the three individuals advanced closer towards us so i do what my father told me and bow. "you may raise your heads" says a deep voice overhead of me. looking up i am greeted by a man with long blonde hair with green eyes and a strong jawline. "we received a report stating that a dragon passed by here" was said by what i assume would be the leader of the group of knights. my father steps up than says "yes, sir knight the dragon came and went leaving fear and destruction on its wake." the knight looks at my father while getting of his horse. "i see, how may i refer to you as" the knight tells my father.
my father bows while saying "please forgive my insolence, my name is Gray." the knight steps closer to my father then says "Gray than, you will be the one who will show and inform me about what the dragon had done." the other two knight stay behind the first on either side. the one on the left looks to be a woman with black hair and a beautiful face. while the one on the right is a man with the same black hair as the woman, but shorter. "than if you would follow me" my father tells the three knights with a calm but refined tone.
the other other two knights tie their horse and their leaders horse on a tree near by than follow us inside the village. many people watch the knights walking by through their windows. after all is not ever day that an ordinary civilian would have the pleasure of seeing a knight, especially in this remote village. once we made it the knights began to inspect the area. "goodness gracious, is like a hurricane passed by here" the female knight said in astonishment. the other knight on the other hand kept glancing at the destruction without giving his own opinion.
"it does indeed appear like a dragon passed by here" the knight leader said out loud in what i presume would be him thinking out loud. "is as you may surmise sir knight, we personally couldn't discern any details of the dragon since the clouds were blocking its view" Carl said with a polite tone. "the dragon passed by, it didn't attack?" was said by the knight who was silent. Carl nods his head in affirmation to the knight's question. "where was the dra.." the knight was going to continue, but was interrupted by non-other than Jack. "Don't listen to them!! they are lying to you!"
i glance at him with a calm look since if i react to what he had said than the knights would start to suspect something. my father and Carl also didn't react to his claim. when Jack moved his head my way he flinched back in fear while at the same time pointing his index finger at me. "it was him! he did it!" the knights merely look at Jack like his crazy and stupid. "boy have you gone senile!?" was said by a new individual with the same hair color as Jack's. let me take a wild guess, is that Jack's father? i thought in my head.
the new individual smacks Jack across the face then makes him bow down infront of the knights. "please forgive my stupid son. ever since he woke up he has been blaming it all on the boy next to you" was said by Jacks father. so he is Jack's father, he appears to be much more mature and educated unlike his son. if his father is like that then he probably got that rotten attitude from his mother. "please forgive my son sir knights!" was said by a woman this time. Jack's mother has the same red hair as his husband and son. i can't see her face clearly since she bowing down, but she does appear to be good looking as well.
"please!, he has was always been like this. we have tried to correct his behavior many times, but he just can't seem to listen to us" was said by his mother. what!? so it's not Jack's parents foult, but his own. something isn't right here. kids follow after their parents in the first place. someone must be either making him or persuading him to act that way, but who and why.
