Two days later.
Kaede strolled down a dark, shady, and broken-down alley of the 4th Ward, she wore a light purple bear hoodie, the bear ear on the hood helped hide her horns, and she also wore pants and high-tops of the same color.
"Where is it?", she mumbled under her breath, most coming out. It was in the middle of the night and it was Autumn, so it was pretty cold.
*plick* *plock*
'Raining? Perfect night for a murder… no smell thanks to the rain… muffled sound… darkness', she thought happily, sadly, and luckily for the inhabitants of this ward, it wasn't why she was here.
After all, what would a dozen of ant less do? Nothing, that's it. The strong have the right to decide what happens to the weak.
Anyway, she is here because Bubble ate her mask, a new one was imperatively needed. Preferably one that won't have the same fate as the last one.
She wasn't here to kill anyone but a lone girl lost in the red light district and the middle of a rainy night seemed like easy prey, the prey sexual deviant would hunt for.
This place wasn't very friendly, to say the least.
She already made two humans lose their male privilege, left to piss to death on the cold muddy ground like the trash they are. How some looked at her made her skin crawl in disgust, and it's not like she wasn't fucked up in the head.
One woman too, this one was a ghoul, she wanted to 'help', 'feed', and such. She directly lost her head privilege. The way the woman stared at her as if she found a walking bag of money and also food. Crazy bitch.
Kaede found ghouls very interesting, most ghouls could easily snap her neck or break her in half as if she was a piece of cardboard but they simply didn't and couldn't.
The only ones that can easily threaten her are the wings kagunes one, the ukakus, and only the stronger and faster ones because she can reflect the projectiles back to the sender.
Her vector shield isn't perfect, too much force on an area too small would let the attack tear through the shield and transform her into a porcupine or gruyere cheese.
It's the reason why she preferred to dodge Touka's shards as she didn't know how strong the blue-haired ghoul was. This was a weakness, a fatal flaw in her defense. But not a fatality in itself.
Training is the only truly effective and immediate solution. The other was waiting and growing up, her vectors are now nearly six meters(20ft) in length at their max and she felt that two other vectors will soon develop. Augmenting her vectors from four to six.
All of this is tied to the size of her horns, they are sharper and one-tenth longer than when she awakened her vectors.
She stopped fidgeting with the gold plated card in her pants pocket on it was only a name, Madame A. From the earlier woman. A VIP card for the Ghoul Restaurant.
"Ah, found it.", Kaede uttered with a smile, staring down at the sign inside a building, written in black and red behind a sun was 'HySy ArtMask Studio'.
She entered, walked down the stair, and knocked on the door. From behind she heard the muffled voice of someone saying enter. And so she did.
"Wow…", wide-eyed she moved on the black and white checkered floor, her footsteps echoing in the very spacious room filled with hundreds of all types, styles, and colors.
Each is unique and shows that the one that made them was talented and took time and effort to make each one.
"Boo.."
She turned on instinct, eyes turning cold, a vector directly cut through the throat of the one that surprised her. The man smiled smugly as his bloody throat healed rapidly healed, his red pupil staring right into her eyes.
"Yo, Uta here. I appreciate you for not making me headless.", the tattooed ghoul joked and darkly chuckled, he jumped off the small table that was hidden behind a drape with him too.
"Kae—"Yes I know. You're pretty popular, the daughter of the One-Eyed Owl and all, I'm a fan… ah the horns… Incredible. A new species, may you bring chaos and death.", he cut her off, took a head measuring tape from somewhere, and directly placed it around her head.
The good already off her head, he stared with fascination at the two bony cat-like ear-like protrusions. His mind was already full of design ideas.

"-ame…,", she huffed, "Can you not immediately do that?"
"No can do.", he replied, he measured the horns carefully to not touch them much. Not having for plans to potentially prematurely die, because he knew that in no way would he be able to move away fast enough before he became mince meat.
He is powerful one of the strongest ghoul, but sadly living without a heart, brain, lungs, liver, gut, kagune, etc is a bit out of his reach at the moment.
Kaede's body stiffened when he did that, it felt strange. It was awkward.
"Ummm, how do you have tattoos and piercings?", the girl asked, shouldn't ghoul out heal whatever might do this?
"Secret.", he responded, taking the final measure as he walked back. Notepad in his left hand.
"So what would you like, something that covers all your face, partially, have you a design or something you would like?", he asked, scribbling already.
"Something that covers everything from the face to the back of the neck. Basically a helmet. You're free to do whatever you want after but make it that a dog will not eat it.", she explained what she wanted.
"I suppose you don't do integrated gas masks and such?", she wondered aloud. Uta shook his head, slightly disappointing Kaede.
'Riiiightttt… Why would they even do that? It's not like they are particularly vulnerable to those kinds of things… and that also must be a pain in the ass to make.', she thought, realizing how stupid her request was.
And so one week passed and Kaede was opening the box containing her new mask, saying it was a helmet that would be more appropriate in this case.
She grabbed the two pieces and marveled at the quality, she was in no way knowledgeable in this but it was surely excellent quality and craftsmanship. She will need to thank her Mother for that and the money too…
It wasn't free after all.
The face had six small holes at the front, three on each side slightly lower than where the eyes were, no nose was visible, and the mouth was filled with metallic shark-like teeth.
She put the mask on, the front and back easily clasped together. She could easily breathe and hear, and smell, and to her surprise, her sight wasn't impaired in the slightest.
"This awesome!", she cried out, scaring the living shit out of her dog who was peacefully sleeping until now.
Arms in the air, she jumped off the couch, her reddish-pink hair visible from the back of the helmet. It didn't feel heavy at all.
Like an excited school, she ran to Eto's room. The half-ghoul was currently concentrating on writing one of her future books.
"Hey look!", her voice altered and had a light metallic undertone.
"AAH?! Fuck… What!? Ah… Damn, he sure does know his stuff… Good design.", Eto praised Uta's work, she didn't like the clown but she can appreciate his mask-making talent.
"Right!", Kaede nodded.
One day later.
In a park, kids could be seen running around, playing together, their parents watching over them, and others enjoying the beautiful sight of the Autumn tree. A normal day.
In the shadow of a tree was a bench on it was a light brown-haired girl wearing a yellow jacket with a red scarf around her neck.
It was Hinami, she is reading the Black Goat Eggs, a book written by Takatsuki Sen aka Yoshimura Eto. She frowned, blocking on a word she couldn't understand, she stopped and put a bookmark.
Heart beating faster and eyes wide open she thought.
'This smell… It's her!'
