"One more minute plwease…", Kaede mumbled, turning to the side, her half-lidded eyes catching a glimpse of a brown-haired girl asleep on a chair.
She started at Hinami for a good five minutes until it clicked inside her head, she was not at home, nor in any familiar place, the walls were not the same, the smell was different, and the pillow didn't feel right and more.
"Oh I fell unconscious… lucky I destroyed my helmet before and Hinami somehow got me here huh. Yeah, overdone it…", she said drily, mind clearing up she loudly yawned. Looking down she saw her body covered in somewhat clean bandages, patches of dried blood here and there.
'But boys, does it feel great to let it go… heh let it go.', she thought, remembering the song from a certain movie.
'And now the song it's stuck inside my head.'
"Kaede? Are you awake…?", a squeaky exhausted voice spoke.
"No silly can't you see? I'm sleeping...", Kaede replied with a small smile, in a matter-of-fact tone but her voice trailed off when she saw the Hinami's baggy puffy red eyes, already on the brink of tears she felt something deep inside her heart tug, though the way she spoke make the ghoul smile.
Then Hinami was going to throw herself on Kaede and hugged her but stopped, remembering the current state of her friend, and said, "Coming right back!"
And immediately ran out of the room leaving a puzzled Kaede behind. Not heeding the other girl she put herself on the side of the bed, mild pain raking over the area with dried blood. The area where the burns were the worst. Touching one of them she flinched.
"Yeah totally overdone it and might have overestimated me… oh well. A bit of pain never hurt anyone.", she said, three invisible hand sprouts were put off her back and she started quite literally scanning herself.
Kaede trusted Hinami but whoever this place belongs to is another story, the words of eleven years don't bear much weight either but from what she could get they didn't do anything beyond taking her in and doing the first aid.
Her ear perked up as she heard footsteps, then the door opened and an old man dressed as a waiter entered, his eyes closed he smiled gently.
"Good afternoon Kaede-san, I am Yoshimura the owner of the Anteiku.", Yoshimura said, though the atmosphere was tense.
'Yoshimura… ah so that the supposed grandpa Eto hates so much, he seems weak. And not surprising he knows my name, Hinami told him, though that's just a name.'
"Hello, Mister Yoshimura. Thank you for having taken care of me while I was out with the fairies. May I ask a question? How much time did I stay unconscious?", Kaede asked, somewhat politely.
Careful of what she said, it would be unpleasant if it were the devolve into a bloodbath. Totally misreading the current situation.
"You're impressively calm and composed for someone who just… sorry. You have been unconscious for around twelve hours.", he caught himself from mentioning the horror this little girl must have gone through to suffer such injury, for whatever actual she is.
Certainly not a human, the horn being a nonfactor as no human heal that fast and would have survived what appeared to be the blast of an explosion, likely at point blank. She wasn't a ghoul either, ghoul possessed a distinctive, smell amd she neither smell like a ghoul nor a human.
Wich was extremely concerning. What happened for a child crisis to be born? Is she the result of an experiment? No one in the Anteiku knows what she is.

But for now, the more likely hypothesis Yoshimura believed, was that she is half-human and gained the regenerative trait of a ghoul and the horns are probably a malformation. He was incredibly sad for her and what she must has gone through.
Not even once did it cross his mind that she is a new species. Kaede for that matter did not really what she is, only she knows that neither is she a human, a ghoul, and all in between. She instinctively knows that she is the first of her species.
"Okay.", she said, that mean she will not miss the Cochlea raid, then her stomach growled, loudly. Yoshimura chuckled at that, he was going to ask what she ate but was interrupted by Hinami who gave a chocolate bar to the pink-haired girl.
"Oh thank you Hinami! And that's my favorite.", she took the chocolate, unwarped it, and directly ravenously ate it. In the blink of an eye, the chocolate was gone and she was still hungry. She needed fuel to heal.
'So no human flesh… At least that's that.', Yoshimura thought, satisfied with this.
Behind the half-opened door, a blue-haired young woman passed, then walked back and noticed that the girl was awake. Touka
was positively furious at what Kaneki told her before he left, abandoning them.
"Ah so your not a ghoul. Good then that means we have two mouths less to feed.", Touka let out, frowning she clicked her tongue and walked away. Yoshimura was going to talk and try to explain to the ink-haired girl they aren't going to harm her because of what they but Kaede talked about first.
"You don't have to panic Mister Yoshimura, I already know you are a ghoul, It's not that hard of a deduction when Hinami never eats any human food. It's to hide your kakugan that your eyes are always closed?", she explained.
Her deduction had the effect of alarming Yoshimura whose eyes widened, showing a deep black sclera and glowing red pupil. Hinami looked ro the ground in embarrassment.
"Are you not afraid?"
"You are weak. And even… You will not kill me. I can tell. You don't seem like this type of person that will kill unless necessary.", she let out her hypotheses on Yoshimura. The latter at that moment realized that this was not a hapless and lost little girl. She was delusional.
However, in reality, he was the one hapless, not that knew. In the perfect range to be specified by her six-seven-meter-long vectors. His smile grew and he calmly nodded, hiding how he truly felt about all of it.
'Poor girl…'
In the headquarter of the CCG, there was chaos. Juzo Suzuya, is a small thin effeminate young man, with white hair and different parts of his body stitched for a purpose only known to his deranged mind. He was happily humming as he read a paper.
But even though he realized the gravity of the situation, he didn't care that much for the absurd amount of casualties humans, and materials.
The only thing that interested him was this new creature, this appearance of a new species. It was decided that she wasn't a simple ghoul variant but something different and this caused uproar and chaos.
The one that caused this all. He felt like they could become great friends. From the report, he could tell that she is very creative.
"Skinning someone alive… and the commander no less! She has great taste."
