As Kabuki arrived in Old King Hamlet, the Cyclops was greeted with a grim sight; the flats were on fire and a few dead bodies were lying in the street.

“W-What…” he stammered, “WHAT HAPPENED?!”

“Kabuki Mishima, doth that be thee?”

The demon swung his body around to find Kuro standing nonchalantly holding Marissa’s broom as the villain stood in front of a huge ball of fire, her cape slowly swaying back and forth.

“You…” Kabuki clenched his fist and gritted his teeth, “YOU DID THIS?!”

Kuro shook her head. “You bethink this is mine fault?” the witch asked. “But didn’t Luna Wolfe sayeth that protecting Old King Hamlet wast her own responsibility?”

Kabuki’s eye started to get bloodshot with rage.

“So would that not maketh this that lady’s fault and not mine?”

As Jackie lay in the bloody puddle, suddenly she remembered what Vladimir had told her when they met.

“Miss Jackie,” he said, “I don’t think this is a good idea, Miss Shakespeare’s out of her mind.” “You want me to return to the human realm?” Jackie had asked him. “If you have any loved ones or simply value your life in general, it’s for the best,” Vladimir replied.

That was it! Vladimir had invited her to leave. She just had to cross the border and she’d be back on Earth! Jackie stood up and rung the water out of the bottom of her black t-shirt. She ran along the dark landscape until she came to the guard station. She wasn’t sure if Vladimir would even be there or not, but that wouldn’t stop her from returning to her realm! All of a sudden, Jackie was dazzled by the light from a torch.

“Jackie?” Vladimir asked, lowering his torch slightly in order to stop shining it directly into Jackie’s eyeballs.

“Mr. Chekhov!” Jackie called out. “If I cross this borderline, I’ll return to Earth, right?”

Vladimir stared at Jackie’s bloody, soaking body and distressed expression with great concern.

“…Is this getting to be too much to handle?” the cop asked her.

Jackie lowered her head and gave a tiny nod.

Vladimir put his hands on his hips and sighed. “Miss Shakespeare’s gonna kill me…” he moaned, pointing his torch at the line on the ground. “Go on then. I’ll apologize to Shakespeare on your behalf.”

Suddenly Vladimir shot a glance over to the guard station and walked toward it.

“What’s wrong?” Jackie asked.

“Y’hear that?” the witch-cop asked, as Jackie heard a faint crackle of radio static coming from the station. “That’s my receiver. Marissa’s calling. …She probably just wants me to pick up donuts on the way back to the station, or something,” Vladimir laughed.

Vladimir grabbed the device from the tabletop inside his station and raised it to his ear.

“What is it, Marissa?” he sighed, pressing a button on the receiver and speaking into it.

“Vladimir Chekhov…” the voice on the other end of the radio crackled, “oh, Vladimir Chekhov…”

Vladimir raised an eyebrow. “Who is this?”

“This be Lady Kuro,” the voice replied.

“How did you contact this receiver?!” Vladimir demanded.

“Is ‘t not obvious?” the foe asked.

Kuro’s transmission cut out, leaving just static coming from the radio’s speakers. Vladimir put the receiver down on the table in frustration and walked back out to Jackie, who was staring in the direction of the border with her mouth agape.

“Just a prank call…” Vladimir huffed. “…What are you staring at, Jackie?”

Vladimir’s eyes widened as he followed the human’s gaze. Everything beyond the border had been surrounded by a dark force. A black hole.

“What happened?!” the cop asked, grabbing Jackie by the shoulders and shaking her whole body.

“I-I don’t know!” Jackie screamed.

The two watched on in fear and anticipation as a hole opened up in the dark vortex, giving way to a stilettoed leg wearing a black and red striped thigh-high sock. The leg’s owner fully stepped out of the black hole with a grin of maliciousness and her hands behind her back.

“Who the Hell are you?!” Vladimir barked.

“Thee may calleth me ‘Lady Kuro’.” the woman replied.

Vladimir glanced over to Jackie. “Jackie,” he whispered, “give me the gun.”

Jackie twiddled her thumbs nervously. “I-I…” she stammered, “I don’t have it…”

“YOU WHAT?!” Vladimir screamed.

“I believeth this familiar is yours?” Kuro sneered, reaching one arm into the large black hole and pulling out a handcuffed Kabuki.

“Kabuki!” Jackie called out in terror and shock.

“Those are Marissa’s handcuffs,” Vladimir stated, “where did you get those?!”

Kuro smiled, withdrawing her other hand from behind her back. Vladimir’s eyes widened as he fell to his knees while Jackie threw-up at the sight before their eyes.

“Alas, poor Marissa,” Kuro winked, holding out the severed head of the cop’s best-friend before his very own eyes, “I knew her, Vladimir… She was a witch of infinite jest…”

The villain tossed Marissa’s horned head behind her back and into the vortex behind her without a care in the world.

“You…” Vladimir gritted his teeth before standing up and reclaiming his footing, “I’LL KILL YOU!”

The cop raised his fist above his head and charged at Kuro with full speed. The pirate released her grip on Kabuki and slowly moonwalked into her black hole as Vladimir approached. Vladimir leaned in for the punch just as Kuro was fully enveloped in darkness, disappearing along with her large portal. Vladimir didn’t have enough time to react and ended up punching thin air, falling over as his fist failed to connect with a target.

“But she was…” the policeman grunted, “she was just here a second ago…”

Another portal opened up in front of Vladimir, dispersing Kuro before disappearing.

“Oh, dear…” Kuro smiled, pointing downward.

Vladimir’s face turned white as he saw what Kuro was pointing towards. “No,” he thought, “there’s no way Kuro planned that when she withdrew her black hole?!”

Vladimir had fallen into the human realm’s side of the border. He lifted his hands to his face as he noticed them slowly disappearing. He trembled as he held out his arm to Kabuki.

“P-Please…” he begged, “please, h-help me…”

“Vladimir Chekhov…” Kuro leered, “doth thee knoweth that demons and witches cannot exist in the human realm?”

Vladimir meekly turned his head in Jackie’s direction.

“J-J-J-Jackie…” he groaned, “r-r-run…” Vladimir coughed. “R-Run away…”

The man let out a loud scream of agony as his entire body shattered into glass-like shards which disappeared as they hit the ground.
