“How? I don’t think I should have come with you,” Halo said. Romeo could see that Halo was visibly panicking and didn’t understand.

“You have to make the mac and cheese. Did you forget?” Romeo asked.

Halo turned to him, then his eyes fell to Romeo’s lips. Romeo smirked and popped a gentle kiss on his lips that turned into a passionate kissing session, calming Halo down.

Halo looked into his eyes as he said, “Thanks, I needed that.”

Romeo kissed his forehead. “Anytime, I am just glad I could get you to calm down, especially since you calm me down when I’m beside you.”

Halo smiled at him and said, “I think I am ready to go inside.”

“You sure Cupcake?” Romeo asked.

Halo nodded his head with a raised brow and asked, “Cupcake?”

Romeo smirked, “Yes, my Cupcake.”

Halo shook his head with a smile and climbed out of the car. Romeo jogged over and helped to carry the boxes. They walked up the path and the door swung open.

There Justin stood wearing nothing but briefs and had his eyes trained on Halo who was walking carefully towards him.

Romeo raised a brow at his friend and did not like that he was naked in front of Halo and said, “Motherfucker get your black ass back in there and put on some clothes before I clock you. It’s almost four and you naked!”

Justin looked over at Romeo and spazzed, “Fuck you, why you show up now?”

Romeo stopped in front of Justin and asked, “Do you know how long it took for him to make this?”

Justin’s brows furrowed as he thought about it, looking at Halo he asked, “Where’s your friend?”

Before Halo could answer, Romeo raised his foot and pushed Justin into the house who groaned.

Justin wiped off his stomach that Romeo dirtied with his foot and closed the door behind them. He looked down at Halo who was blushing like crazy and remember he was standing practically naked in front of a gay dude and felt embarrassed.

He looked at the cake in Halo’s hands and asked, “You made this?”

“Hello to you too,” Halo said with a roll of his eyes. 

“Yes he did, he got everything done in less than five hours so be grateful and your black ass better thank him,” Romeo said as he looked around the house that was a mess.

Halo looked up at Romeo briefly. Why was he talking differently now?

“Yo you act like I am ungrateful. Yo been fucking your boy and forget about our plans, nice one,” Justin said. Halo looked at him and saw that he was already eating a cupcake that he took out of the box Romeo was carrying.

Halo’s eyes widened moments later as Justin’s words registered. Just knew about them but how?

Romeo looked at his friend then looked at Halo. Halo had a blank expression on his face. Well not really, his eyes gave it away that he did not understand what was happening.

Romeo clapped up with his boy and said, “Naw man, it ain't even like that, I was too caught up in asking him out that it slipped my mind.”

Justin looked down at Halo that he was trying to ignore. “Ya’ll official?” Directing the question at Romeo.

Halo nodded his head making Romeo smile. Justin on the other hand wasn’t surprised, “What about Niam, he said he was going to come with you.”

“Not that I know of… He texted me that he couldn’t make it,” Halo explained.

“Na, I’m one hundred percent sure that he’s not about to be under the same roof as Justin,” Romeo smirked

“Thanks for the cake,” Justin said with a sigh. He turned to Romeo expecting him to help him but Romeo was already on his way to the kitchen.

Just looked back at Halo and saw that he had a smirk on his face. He looked back at Romeo and said, “That motherfucker Romeo be tripping. How you deal?”

“Oh, I am still learning. He suddenly started talking differently when we saw you so I am learning too. I’m sorry about Niam, he has issues he has to deal with,” Halo said.

Justin nodded his head. “Your friend is cute, but I won’t be chasing after him for long if he continues blocking me.”

Halo shrugged as he handed the cake over to Justin who couldn’t believe the weight of the cake, “Sure, but can you like put clothes on, I don’t want Romeo catching me looking at your dick print.”

Justin burst out laughing, “This way, I’m sure your mans is in my fridge.”

Halo raised a brow as he followed Justin to the kitchen and indeed, Romeo’s head and arms were in the fridge.”

“What are you doing?” Halo asked.

Romeo pulled his head out and looked at him. Halo had a frown on his face as he walked over. Romeo took the apple out of his mouth and said, “Looking for food.”

“In someone else’s fridge?” He asked, he was obviously not impressed with Romeo’s behaviour.

“Na, in my other mother’s fridge,” Romeo commented as he pulled out a bowl of marinated meat and asked Justin, “When we grilling?”

“Yo, everyone still asleep but go ahead and fire the grill up,” Justin said. His mind remembered something and he snapped his fingers, “No wonder the damn cupcakes taste nice, you that dude that running the Foodies Club. You gonna make the mac and cheese right?”

Halo stared at him dumbfounded, so people knew him for something else than being a gay boy?

“Dude, he just finished your cake, let him rest,” Romeo grumbled as he stuffed a chicken and mayo sandwich in his mouth that he found in the fridge as he glared over at Justin.

“I don’t mind, I love cooking,” Halo said beside Romeo who was handing him the sandwich to taste.

Romeo shook his head, “I forgot I brought you here to cook.”

Halo took a bite of the sandwich and after a few chews he asked, “Did you order this from the Foodies Club?”

“Yep!” Justin answered happily.

Halo looked up at Romeo who was not happy and said, “This is my recipe, you sure you don’t want me cooking.”

Romeo smiled, no wonder this plain sandwich tasted delicious, he leaned his head down and kissed Halo on the lips and said, “Fine, but nothing else after that.”

 

Halo was halfway with the prep work when he heard, “Yo, who let this faggot in here?”

Halo’s body froze up and he looked over at Adrian who was standing at the door of the kitchen with his hands in fist form at his side and pure hatred in his eyes directed at him.

Halo looked around the kitchen and his eyes landed on Justin who was eating the breakfast of eggs and bacon Halo quickly whipped up for him.

Justin bit down on his lip and answered, “I let him in.”

“Why?” Adrian asked sounding angry.

Seeing that Justin went quiet, Halo sighed, he looked at Adrian and said, “Hello to you too Adrian.”

“Oh shut the fuck up, no one is talking to you,” Adrian scoffed.

Halo rolled his eyes, “Geez, you are such an asshole, I feel sorry for the person who will end up with you.”

“You better watch how you speak.” Adrian threatened him. 

Halo looked up at him and smirked. “Or what? You’ll call me a faggot? Beat me up? Do you think I’ll let you get away with that?”

Halo was expecting the usual, but Adrian suddenly rolled his eyes and went to see what he was doing. Raising a brow, he asked, “What are you doing?”

“Cooking?” Halo said.

Adrian nodded his head, then went to the fridge asking, “Do you want beer or a cold drink?”

“Cold drink is fine,” Halo answered. Adrian nodded and pulled out two orange sodas then opened them and handed one to Halo, who was cautiously looking at him.

Adrian sat down as he said, “I won’t bite.”

“You usually do,” he said.

“Yeah, sorry about that,” Adrian apologised and looked at Romeo surprised when he burst through the door.

Adrian did not have a hostile look on his face and Halo? He just looked confused, “What happened?”

“I think Adrian hit his head,” Halo said.
