Chapter 27: Chapter 26

Halo returned to school with Niam but ignored Romeo every chance he got and over the course of a month, he noticed how Romeo had stopped taking care of how he looked and got into fights with teachers and the students.

Sometimes, Romeo would park his car outside his home over the weekends and during the weeks, just to sit there the whole day without calling Halo or seeing him.

Angela would even go outside to give him something to eat or drink and felt very sorry for Romeo but she couldn’t show him too much care because in the end, he hurt HER son.

It was lunchtime and Niam wanted to eat out. He messaged Justin to take him out, but Justin was being bitchy, so they were taking a Ryde.

Just as they were walking out, Halo spotted Romeo sitting in his trunk talking to someone who he recognised as Nicola. She hadn’t seen Nicola around school for some time, and he was glad about it.

It was already hard being at school because everyone now knew that Romeo cheated on him with her and the looks he was getting were ‘pity’? Some even expected this to happen. Who did Halo think he was?

Halo stopped walking and so did Niam. Niam turned to look at Halo, then looked in the direction he was gazing in and saw the scene. Frowning, Niam scoffed, “That bitch is still after your man.”

Halo looked at his friend and repeated, “Yes, my man.”

“Hold my bag,” Halo said, handing his bag to Niam, who started laughing. Halo stalked over to Romeo from behind and when he got closer, he heard, “So why have you been ignoring me?”

Halo sneered, slightly happy that Romeo was ignoring her. When he got closer, he saw she was rubbing her hands on his thighs and it made him angry.

He was already conflicted enough on whether he should stop whatever it was and now he was glad that he listened to his heart.

Halo stopped beside them, grabbed Romeo by the ear and pulled him off the trunk of his car.

“Ah, ah, Halo my ear!” Romeo yelled while he held Halo’s hand that was pulling his ear.

“I should fucking rip your dick off for fucking her,” Halo growled at him. Niam walked up to Justin and said, “Halo is about to kill Rome, I need someone to buy me food.”

Justin looked down at him and they both heard, “Why are you telling him?”

They looked at Adrian, who was on Mason’s back. Niam shrugged, “I heard he broke it off with his girl, so he is free to be the delivery boy.”

Mason burst out laughing and said, “Man, I swear you two look like yalls doing something behind closed doors and speaking about closed doors. I need a blow job.”

Adrian blushed on his back and said, “Shut up!”

After the two left, Justin looked down at Niam and asked, “You know you keep coming to me as though we are together. Didn’t we agree on keeping things between us quiet?”

Niam glared up at him and said, “You know what? Stay the fuck away from me then and don’t come looking for your child! I left my boyfriend because of what you did and currently, my ass is wishing I wasn’t carrying your child. Fuck you Justin!”

Niam walked away and got a notification that the Ryde was here. He walked over to it and climbed in. He looked back and saw that Justin had run after him, but he was too late.

Justin huffed and mumbled, “I swear, if I didn’t know you were pregnant, I would think you are crazy.”

Halo threw Romeo against the wall behind the bleachers and slapped him across the face. He glared at him and said, “So your ass still wants to fuck her!”

Romeo glared back at Halo while cupping his cheek and said, “And so what? It’s not like you want me anymore.”

“Did I say you should cheat on me, Romeo? Am I not allowed to be mad?” Halo asked him in a broken voice.

Romeo bit back his words. Halo cried enough in front of him, and he did not want him to cry again.

Romeo sighed and looked down at his feet, saying, “Look, I know I fucked up Halo, but please understand, I did not do it to hurt you intentionally and I want you to understand. I’ve been sexually active since I was eleven and it’s difficult for me to just stop, no matter how much I want to be with you. I’ve slowed down, yes, but I’m still getting to where I want to fully dedicate myself to being with you.”

“And at first, I never wanted to be in a relationship with you. It was just a ride home, but then we started vibing and when you told me you were a virgin, that’s when I stopped drinking. You’ve seen how I get when I’m horny and it’s worse when I am drunk or high. That night at the party, nothing would have happened if I didn’t drink what Mason gave me and I know my reasons may seem stupid to you, but to me, it isn’t. Shit, I’m okay with dating both guys and chicks, but never have I dated a guy before or fucked them and it’s even harder when my boyfriend is so fucking sexy, walking around in clothes that makes him look so good.”

“What do you want me to do? We already had sex Romeo. I shared myself with you yet you still cheated?” Halo asked as he wiped his tears away.

Romeo stepped closer to him and shook his head. He hugged Halo tightly and whispered, “I just want you to take me back. I’ve been so lost without you, Halo, and I swear, I will never do it again. I don’t know why I did it.”

But Romeo knew exactly why he did it. Ever since he came out with Halo, his status as ‘the boss’ of the school has lowered. He became weak in the eyes of everyone — he never cared before, but still the shit being said about him hurt.

He hugged Halo again as he admitted, “Fuck, I missed holding you in my arms.”

“And I miss my handsome boyfriend. You look ugly and smell bad,” Halo said and pinched his nose close.

As Halo looked at Romeo, he realized that he didn’t want anyone else to have him nor did he even want him to be in front of others — these thoughts, he would have never have had them if he wasn’t betrayed by this man.

Was it forgive and forget or was it forget and keep?

Romeo chuckled, “Well shit shawty, you don’t got to put me on blast like that and besides, I was trying to repel the bugs with my stank.”

Romeo looked down at Halo and asked, “Can I kiss you?”

Halo smirked. “No, your black ass is taking me back to your place so we can clean you up.”

Romeo sighed and nodded his head. “But let’s first go get my boy something to eat and a box of doughnuts.”

“The ones with chocolate cream inside and sprinkles on the top?” Halo asked, batting his eyes.

Romeo chuckled, nodding his head. “Yes, and the ones with vanilla cream in the centre and dipped in caramel.”

Halo jumped up into Romeo’s arms. “My man knows me well.”

“Yes, your man knows you well,” Romeo said, walking back to his car while he carried Halo.

Nicola was still waiting by his car and when she saw Romeo carrying Halo, she wasn’t happy. Romeo opened his car and placed Halo inside. Nicola came around and said, “You should stop pretending to be gay. You know your dick loves pounding into my pussy.”

Romeo closed the door and looked down at her. “Nicola just stop. You just look desperate now. Yes, I enjoyed sex with you, but my heart wants Halo and no one else. Try dating someone else and you can have anyone you want.”

“And I want you!” She argued.

Romeo shook his head. “And I want the one who loves me and doesn’t care about my dick or money.”

Romeo didn’t wait for her to answer and jogged over to his side and climbed in. Halo looked at him and asked, “Did you mean that?”

“Yes, I am not about to fuck this up again,” Romeo answered and drove off. Nicola watched the car leave and pulled her phone out. She dialled a number and said, “You wanted help finding out who sells drugs at Horizon High right? Transfer five thousand to my account and after you fuck me, I’ll send you their names.”

A few hours later…

Romeo’s burner phone rang while he was watching a movie with Halo. He reached over into his drawer and pulled it out. He looked at the number and quickly answered it. “Cardinal?”

The woman spoke over the phone briefly, and Romeo’s gaze hardened. He switched the phone off and Halo asked while he chewed on a doughnut, “Work?”

Romeo shook his head. He looked at Halo and said, “My boss just told me that the police were informed about me and the boys selling drugs by Nicola.”

Halo’s jaw dropped, dumbfounded. “What are you going to do?”

Romeo looked down at his phone and said after he sent out a message, “I’m going to fucking kill her.”

Halo’s body shivered as he looked into Romeo’s eyes that told him he wasn’t joking. He licked his lips and said, “Okay, but just don’t get caught please, we just got back together.”

Romeo chuckled as he stood up. He got dressed and said, “I’ll be back and don’t eat all the damn doughnuts.”
