Hours went by and the group had finally settled in. Everyone was excited and the mood was great. The Ball was going to be held at The Valley, with the host being one of Chisaiki’s highest ranked nobles, the Astaril clan. The Valley was known not only because of its beautiful landscape, but was also a place where Nobles and Royalty gathered. Although the mood was bright, there was someone who proved otherwise. Having known of the place like the back of his hand, Dain left and went to his favorite spot. He went up a small hill and sat down beneath the shade of a certain tree. As he sat there, he began to recall of the events that happened earlier in the mansion, with Montana, who he informed that he might not be able to participate in the event.
Remembering how bad the mood was only annoyed him even more. Dain sighed deeply and laid down on the grass while covering his face with his arm. When suddenly, he heard a crack. It was similar to a branch breaking. He removed his arm slowly and looked at the tree from below. He sat up and looked around and smiled after he came to a realization. The wind blew stronger as he stood up, picking off one of the flowers from the tree. He then walked as he played with it, spinning it by the stem. After reaching the trunk of the tree, he closed his eyes and cleared his throat while reaching out the flower.
Dain: I couldn’t ignore you even if I wanted to
He then waited as someone appeared from the other side. She stood there with her hands behind her back, leaning towards him. Everything seemed to have slowed down upon seeing her, and the only thought the Prince had was how beautiful she was in that dress.
Sophie: Surprise!~ hahahaha-
Dain didn’t reply at first, which confused her. But she noticed the way he reached out to her. So she went closer to him and was greeted by him with a kiss in the hand. She felt flustered seeing that Dain did it while staring deeply at her. Before she could speak, he brushed off her hair and inserted the flower to her hair. Seeing him up close, she couldn’t help but ask.
Sophie: D-Dain… Are you okay?
Dain’s lip was as pale as his skin and upon reaching out to him, he avoided her.
Dain: Yeahh… It’s just a cold
Sophie: ….I see—
Dain: ….When did you get here?
Sophie: Actually… We just got here
A few hours have passed as the two continued to chat, unaware of a certain someone who was heading there. Only after climbing the hill did the two finally see him. Luciel, who had his hands in his pockets, called out to them.
Luciel: Excuse me your Highnesses, I’d hate to ruin the mood—
But His Majesty has been searching for you.
Sophie: I-I see—Eherm, we’ll be right there…
Thank you Lucy
Dain: (!) Lucy?
Upon hearing her, Luciel couldn’t help but get irritated, ruffling through his hair as he left the two. With that, the two returned to the mansion and was escorted to the Dining Room. It was also the moment Dain realized how late they were. When they reached the others, Dain bowed and apologized for being late. To his surprise, however, Athena spoke—teasing the two by calling them out to be so insensitive—
Later that night, Athena comes across Sophie, who seemed to be switching rooms. She knows where everyone’s room is, seeing Sophie in the opposite side confused her. But she then came to realize what was going on. After passing each other, she called out to Sophie which surprised her. She looked back, greeting her.
Athena: I wont keep you long, Your Highness—
Just wanted to say that his room’s upstairs, it’s the third on the left—Have fun~
Sophie then blushed and began to stutter as she tried to make up an excuse.
The following day, Montana prepared herself for the Ball. Having prepared for weeks, they were all looking forward to it. After dressing up, she excuses her maids and looked at herself using the mirror. She twirls from side to side, admiring the dress that they’ve prepared for her. She turns around and faced the bed, where a boy laid, facing down.
Montana: Well… How do I look?
The boy was silent at first, but finally turned his head to take a look. He stared at her for a while, which made her think that he was admiring the detail. But to her surprise, Luciel faced back down and replied saying that it was decent. She was disappointed to hear such a lifeless answer, but knowing well of who she was talking to, she decided not to give it much thought. Montana then faced the mirror once more, and looks at the boy who still wasn’t moving. She asked him what his plans was, more specifically what he planned to wear. Luciel sighed deeply before answering, saying he’d just make up an outfit that would pair with hers. Ever since that event, Luciel seemed to be a little down, but seeing as he wouldn’t open up to her, Montana just leaves it aside as she exits her room. She was greeted by several people, one of them being Leo who claimed to have been preparing for his shift. He continued to say that everyone was already at the lobby. That was the moment she realized that she was already late, so she quickly wasted no time and went towards the lobby.
While heading there, she meets one of the travelers, Gabriel, in the corridor. After greeting each other, Gabriel insisted to escort the Princess back as they headed back to the lobby. Gabriel opened the door for her and all the guests were taken aback by her appearance. To her surprise, one of them was smirking while the other sighed as he mouthed out the words “Late again”
With Gabriel’s help, she managed to regain her composure and went down the stairs where she was greeted by Kaiden, the elder twin and the firstborn Prince of Orion.
Kaiden: Look who finally decided to show up—
We’ve been waiting…

Montana: You guys actually came?
Kaiden: Mhmm… Now go, I can tell he’s feeling awkward all alone
Montana: Hahahaha~ Aren’t you coming?
Kaiden: Stomachaches—sorry
With that, Montana went to the center and to her partner, Kai. Surprisingly, Sophie followed with her brother, Dain. With the Royal pair now together, the music changes with the lights as it shifts towards them. Meanwhile, there was a group of countless nobles who had gathered, offering their hand to the beauty who stayed at her seat, all of which were rejected as she claimed to have been waiting for someone. Seeing this caused Montana to laugh and Athena, who saw this, raised her glass as the two prepared for the next dance.
The two then chatted as they danced so elegantly, Montana was surprised to see they were moving so well, knowing that they didn’t practice together. She teases him with compliments which later on causes him to trip. After gaining back his stance, Kai couldn’t help but watch as Montana laughed at the sight, making him feel embarrassed. Meanwhile, in the opposite side of the room, Athena watched as Gabriel went beside a certain someone, who he offered to a drink.
Gabriel: Im surprised you came, brother(drink?)
Luciel: N-no thanks…
Ugh… (Their scent…)
Gabriel could feel how uncomfortable the boy was. He was shaking as he bit his lip. Being a pure descendant of the Lost Bloodline, it only made sense that he thirsts for the living. Gabriel then sighed deeply, offering him to join him as he stepped outside. Luciel hesitated at first, but finally gave in before Gabriel went too far. Athena, who watched this happen, didn’t see the need to follow. So she stayed in her place and continued to wait. The boy followed Gabriel as they went to the terrace. Luciel’s arms were shaking as darkness began to overflow from within him, an ominous smoke began to appear from his clothes. Knowing that the situation was getting out of hand, Gabriel separated them by creating a field that slowed time. This helped him a bit, but Gabriel knew it was only a matter of time before he bypasses the field. Luckily Gabriel had a vial which he used to store his blood after cutting himself.
Gabriel: Its not much, but it should be enough
Ill ask Ren if he could bring more… food
Luciel took it without hesitation and drank it down to the last drop. Gabriel watched him do so and sighed in content after seeing the effects lessening. After successfully controlling himself, Gabriel comes closer and embraces the boy.
Gabriel: I knew that dragon wasn’t good for you
Luciel: Gahh-so cold…
Gabriel: I know its hard but, you have to stay low with them for now
We can’t let “them” know
Luciel: When are they coming?
Gabriel: I only went to Alex... So I don’t know
Back inside, everyone cheered as the dance came to its end. It was finally the time for the King’s speech. Upon standing, he silenced the crowd. At first, he thanked everyone who was present and began his introduction. Meanwhile, he asked everyone to go to their respective tables, informing them that the banquet was going to start after his speech. Upon reaching the end, however, he was surprised as the front door opened wide and with it came the Master of the Ceremony, who bowed in embarrassment upon realizing that he interrupted the King’s speech. With everyone now facing him, he took it as an opportunity to introduce the guest who followed from behind. A knight that’s twice the size of a human entered, and faced sideways, bowing with one hand in his chest as he used the other to hold his cape, covering the red carpet.
Master: Ladies and Gentlemen, one of the major guests for today’s event—I introduce you to one of the royal bloodline from the Kingdom of Lichtenstein
The second heir to the throne--
Prince Lugh Azellion
A man then entered, moving the knights’ cape while doing so. He who had white hair, wearing a mask and clothing that boast magnificence. The Prince then went to the center and for a second was silent. He kneeled down and spoke in a deep voice, greeting the King with only a few words. The room went silent, only to be broken by the King who replied back and gave the Prince a warm welcome.
With the speech now over, a dozen butlers entered, carrying their food. While the others were eating, the masked prince headed towards Montana’s table, he introduced himself and asked for her hand to a dance. This surprised the Princess, who reluctantly accepted his offer. With the two now in the center, everyone was captivated to look. The noise that everyone made while chatting soon went silent, as the two prepared themselves for the dance. All but one waited to see them dance, one who was so displeased that her plate remained untouched. She who felt disappointed but still showed a bright smile. Athena, the one who was thankful of the event that was held with masks.
It then ends as the two danced and certain someone's gaze was fixed towards the beauty, who had finally given up, leaving the scene while carrying a glass wine in hand.
