Ch 20 – Versatile

"It's not good, isn't it?" I said. My smile disappeared instantly. My tone turned serious. Likewise with Shea.

"No..." Shea answered. Her face grew pale. "We're screwed."

Quickly, I logged off and turned off the computer. "Do you have any idea who they are?" I asked without pausing my movement. If they were the cyborgs, it meant I needed to kiss the soft mattress goodbye.

"Police. I think someone saw your battle," she answered. "They might be looking for you."

"Damn..." I cursed under my breath. Of course, that one too. I had thought of this and I hated when I was right.

*Ring!*

The bell sound that came from the door indicated that they were in front of our room.

Both of us turned to the door. Our faces looked tense. I felt my heart pumping faster than usual. It was harder to deal with the police than the enemy. since they were the law enforcers.

"Quick questions. In an urgent case, can I knock them out?" I asked. My eyes were still on the door.

"No," Shea responded immediately. "If that happens, we will become this city's criminals. We won't have any place in this city anymore," she whispered.

"Then, is it okay if I hypnosis them?" I asked again. Our situation wasn't exactly ideal. It was the best solution for us.

Shea turned to me in surprise.

"You can hypnosis people?" she asked in disbelief.

"Yep. I learned it when I was still on my journey to defeat the dark lord," I told her. "It's quite handy to take care of any problem without creating another problem." And I usually used it when I had to deal with other civilians.

Her mouth opened wide. "That's... amazing!"

"And it works really well too."

Right at that moment, another ring sounded.

*Ring!*

"Okay. You can do it. It's our best way out if we still want to stay in this place," she quickly said.

I nodded and clenched my fist to calm myself down.

"I'll handle this." I stood up and walked toward the door. I opened it and saw a group of police officers standing in front of me. Two of them were human, one was a fox demi-human, and two others were some kind of cyborg. All of them wore the same uniform. It was completely different from my original world police uniform so I didn't know it.

"Good evening, sir," Their leader said to me. His voice was deep and reverberated throughout his chest. He had brownish hair which reached halfway down his neck. His muscular body was covered by a shiny black suit.

"Hello." I smiled. I didn't want to make him suspicious. "Is there any problem?"

"Yes, we just want to make a little check and ask some questions. Can we get inside?" he asked.

"Sure." I opened the door wider for them and let them in. There were five of them so this wouldn't be easy. But since the robots could send the information on time I decided to take care of them first.

I closed the door and walked behind them as I used my skill.

'Technology Manipulation.'

[ Taking two Police Utdoid into your manipulation is in progress]

[ Two Police Utdoid have been taken into your control. For now, they will obey you.]

'Rig your cameras and recorders. We are both innocent and the culprit has run away,' I ordered them.

'Sweet. Two down. Three more to go...' I smiled internally.

The police stopped in the middle of the room and turned to me and Shea who stood and looked pale beside me.

"So, you fought with someone, correct?" the leader asked again.

"No. Not at all," I lied. "We are good citizens. So, no. We didn't fight."

"Are you sure?" he asked skeptically.

"Yes," I replied. "Trust us. If you don't believe me. I can prove it to you." I approached the leader and the other two were also closing their distance to me.

"Um, can you give me some space? I just want to talk to him," I said nervously.

After the leader gave them a nod, the others retreated. I bent my head a bit and leaned toward the leader a bit. But rather than explaining it, I used my skill.

'Hypnosis.'

[ Hypnosis successful.]

[ One human has been taken into your control. For now, he will obey you.]

[ Time limit: 24 hours.]

[ Success rate: 100%]

"I hope you can understand," I suddenly said as I lifted my head. "Or should I explain it to your team?" I turned back to the group and smiled at them.

"Yes. Explain it to him." The leader simply waved his hand and ordered one of his team to step up.

"Okay." I simply used the same skill and repeated the same tactic with the last one. With this, all of them were already under my control.

"Just report that we are innocent and say the culprit has escaped," I ordered.

They answered me with a nod.

I turned to the door and pointed to it. "All of you may leave now," I said again. They left immediately.

Once the door was shut, I sighed in relief.

"It's easier than I thought." Then I turned toward Shea. She was staring at me in shock.

"What did I just see..." she muttered.

"My skill?" I replied with a shrug.

"Uh... Axl, I want to ask you. Could you tell me your skill list and what you can do?" she asked, still in her shocked face. Then she raised her hand to cancel her question. "Sorry. Could you tell me what you can't do," She corrected her question.

“I can’t get pregnant," I said lightly. I bet she asked me since I could do anything and had the skill for all situations.

She smiled dryly.

"Except that."

"I can't get a period," I smiled innocently.

To which she replied with facepalming herself.
