Chapter 11: (11) normal day

Inside the virtual space.

Marlyn is jumping around and chasing a chicken. This is her favorite pet. She named it Daisy.

She quickly caught Daisy and it won't stop clucking.

"Mom, Dad!" 

Upon seeing them, she sprinted towards them

"Silly girl, don't run too fast sweetie, you might slip"

Yen pick her up.

Her emotion at this point is already obvious, but there are still times where she's cold.

"But I'm strong, I won't slip!"

She protested

"Listen to your mom"

Lily pinch her cheeks and pat her.

She dodges his hands.

The two can't help but chuckle.

They are getting concerned for her. She's too lonely her and it might make her emotions unstable.

This is part of why they picked that sentry, so she can communicate with other people instead of always being alone.

Lily just awkwardly scratch his head and laugh

" Now now, don't call your father that"

Lily reprimanded her, usually Lily is the soft-hearted of the two. Yen is also kind, but she can go cold if necessary. Everyone who does that in the living world will be met with punishment in the afterlife before they will be reincarnated.

Marlyn then saw her favorite chicken. Its feathers instantly went stiff and start running away.

Marlyn squirmed out of the embrace of her mother and went after the chicken.

" oh my, that little girl still looks cute"

Lily pulls Yen closer to him.

"That's because she inherits it from her mother" 

She said proudly as she leans on his shoulder.

"Ehhh? What part? It's obviously because her father is so handsome" 

He raised his chin with proudness.

"What part of you is handsome? You look like a scarecrow" 

She gave him a judging look.

"Everything" 

He said, still proud

"But still, she inherited my beauty" 

Yen insist. Lily just laugh and agree with her

"Let's follow her, she might go somewhere far" (Lily)

They followed her soon after that.

Meanwhile outside.

The Sword rain sect, a medium-level sect situated In the great forest. This sect is far away from most cities and so news about it rarely comes out and most people don't bother the sect because for them it's only a low-level sect and the only reason it became a middle-level sect is because of the grand. The grand elder is near the pick of the 7th realm of lake forming. And added to the fact that they don't have worthy treasures left the Sword rain sect on the lower priority of most powerful sects.

But this is to their advantage they are away from the prying eyes of those arrogant people.

Currently, Zhi Ruo is inside her pavilion experimenting with something. One of the two books they found is about how to enhance the potency healing potion. Zhi Ruo is trying to incorporate the method there into her pill refining techniques.

If she succeeds, then it will bring great fortune to the sect.

She sat on cross legs with a big cauldron in front of her.

Heavenly qi continuously fuels the fire and controls the herbs inside.

She chants while making sure the essence of each herb doesn't clash with each other.

A big magic circle appeared on the top of the cauldron when she's about to finish

This is the hard part and so she focuses all her mind on the work.

The essence of the herbs slowly fuses into a rough form of a circular pill. 

Sweats drip from her forehead and her breathing turned ragged.

'Just a few more! A few more!" 

She continues to persist until the pill fully formed, but something happened. The magic circle cracked and destroyed itself seconds before the pill fully form.

She then fell back with rapid breathing.

"Why is it so hard?! The creator of such a technique is a bully!" 

She picked herself up after taking a bit of rest and opened the cauldron.

Inside is a pill with a small engraving of a cracked magic circle.

"Success!" 

She celebrated and quickly pick up the pill to inspect it.

"2℅ improvements on potency and purity?" 

She looked shocked. It is known that improving the purity and potency of pills is very hard unless you have a lot of qi reserves to sustain such an arduous task.

She carefully placed the pill in a small pillbox designed to prevent the pill from losing its pill potency.

The spell calls for 3 magic circles for success and yet she only got a cracked magic circle and it already improved the pill so much. 

"What regret the magic spell only includes the first part of the technique" 

This was the first time she succeeded and so need I report it to the grand elder.

The grand elder is currently the one taking care of the sect because Little cloud and Fen are in the process of breaking through.

Little cloud mostly helps Fen do the documents when she's feeling lazy which she mostly is. She takes care of the more important sect affairs while Little cloud takes care of the smaller sect affairs the elders deem as important enough to pass to the sect master to decide.

While he's doing the works, a knocking sound could be heard outside.

Only the 3 great elders are impulsive enough to directly knock on the door.

"Enter" 

He said while still sorting the parchments. 

He smiles warmly when he saw it's the little girl

"Great uncle look at this" 

Zhi Ruo rushed inside with excitement and placed the pillbox on the table carefully.

"This is?"

He raised his brows

She carefully removed the cover so he can carefully inspect it.

He looked at the pill with shock.

He took a needle and scrape a bit of the pill to inspect and finally said.

"Wonderful! Continue your research. It's a failure and yet it already gave so much improvement to the pill." 

He placed it back in the box. 

"You can take some people to assist you, remember it must only be a secret in our sect. Those wolves will become too greedy if they discover our improvements. 

We don't want to disturb the seniors" 

"Yes, grand uncle"

She became serious, as jolly as she is she still has responsibilities in the sect.

"You can take the room in the underground for your research, it is much safer there.

You're dismissed now"

She becomes happy when she heard words.

She bowed and immediately left the room.

The other book they are researching is a weird one. They can't use it since none of them have affinities for it. It is an attack spell named 'Light slash' 

A magic spell for vanishing evil entities. They can't use it since their sect doesn't have any cultivation method related to light. But still, they are researching it to decipher more about these Magic spells. Magic circles are different from their cultivation systems and they study them they will surely be able to upgrade the teaching of their sects. Feng Mian even said it's entirely possible to even engrave them on items. The possibilities are endless.

A big mystery to them, where did those seniors get these magic spells? These may be their creations or even possibly ancient relics they found useless for their strength. But why would such strong figures be in such a low place like this? Is something great out there that even they can't fight?

He said while holding a particular parchment about a suggestion for a competition for the young disciples since they grew too arrogant.

Inside the system.

They are all inside the sentry just laying around while Yen is cooking something delicious.

"It is"

She's munching on a homemade fruit.

"Ohh that's great, what about increasing the size?"(Lily)

She smiles mischievously. Suman is a type of food wrapped on leaves and steamed. 

"You mischievous girl, who thought that? Fine" 

He then created one from the data, but Marlyn shake her head.

"I want the one you cooked" (Marlyn)

"Aww so demanding, after we eat what your mom is preparing" 

He pats her to her displeasure

"I'll answer it then, it's possible, but it can only be increased if you passed the test to evolve"

She then lay on the other couch.

"Sounds simple, remind me later for the Suman"

"You're the best, dad" 

She celebrated.

Soon a delicious aroma wafted out from the kitchen. 

Yen is back with a tray of delicious food in her hand. Lily and Marlyn then helped her take the other foods out from the kitchen.

And then they have a good meal
