Chapter 5: (5) mountain

Right now they are back outside and Marlyn is sleeping.

Instead of searching the forest, they will try the cities for information and valuable things.

This time they are prepared. They practiced their abilities. Yen can now heal wounds that are not too serious and her slow curse is much stronger than before. She can use heal 5 times and the curse 7 times before her mana run dry. It's because of the nourishment from that place and also because of the increase in the system's energy. 

She can now use her virtual law of light efficiently and when used with her healing magic it improves the healing factor by 1but increases the mana usage by 30%. She can also attack using her light blade, a very mana-consuming use of the virtual law of light.

Her crafting skill, on the other hand, she can good items such as a bag made from tree fibers and a bow. Better than nothing.

Lily also improved. His detection range is much larger now and he can use roots to spear someone even tho his roots mostly break after just one use. He can also entangle someone for some time to buy time for him and yen. He can only use the most basic use of enchanting magic, enchanting the magic of someone. He can only do so much because of the mana requirement. He can only enchant someone 4 times before he runs out of mana.

As for his alchemy skills, what vessel can use to do some alchemy? He doesn't even have good ingredients.

Lily looked at the surrounding with a smile. 

It's so bright outside, the sun peeking brightly.

"Let's get revenge on those fishes before going"

Lily grin.

Yen just looked at him as if she's looking at an idiot.

"You won't even forgive a fish, let's go we have no time for that"

She pulls him away and starts their travel.

"Ouch"

Lily accidentally stepped on a sharp stone, but Yen just keep pulling him. 

He sighs helplessly and just follows her when she finally lets go of his hand.

They walked for a while and found themselves in front of a mountain. 

Yen thought that it can be a good place to look at where they are right now. And so they climbed it. 

The plants here on this mountain are still the same plants they already have. Also, new birds they happily catch.

They are currently behind a tree and eyeing a huge bird, it is massive in size. Approximately the size of a deer. 

Giving a signal, Yen immediately cast a slow curse on the bird which alerted it, but before it can escape vines entangled it. These vines are easy to escape from, but there are too many vines.

It starts destroying the vines and the two sprint towards it. Yen is the fastest as she transforms into her owl form and quickly turns the bird into data.

"Ohh let me take a look" 

Lily quickly approaches Yen as she turns back into her human form.

She showed it to him as they both take a look.

A bird with an appetite for bones of dead and living people. 

The essence of the bones it consumes strengthen its claws and granted it the name "Bone claw bird"

They felt happy and excited seeing this. Finally something not average.

The fact that it can strengthen itself by eating bones gave the couple different ideas on how to use the data.

Feeling excited, they continue on their journey. They feel that this place might have more good things.

Soon enough they reached the summit, they're disappointed because they didn't find anything good after that 

Once they reach the top, they soon discovered that if they want to reach a civilization it's going to take a good while.

"It's like a sea"

Lily murmur as he gazes at the horizon. Everything around them is just an endless forest.

As they are inspecting the surrounding, something caught their eyes. In the distance, there is a tall mountain with a lot of flying creatures. 

If there are so many of those creatures there, maybe there is something valuable there.

 They can also pot a vague carpet of flowers there. Surely something their daughter will like.

"Let's rest first, we need to be ready in case of dangerous events."

And with that, they returned to the platform and went to the bubble.

The world is kinda lively and few creatures are flying around.

 They went to the flat mountain. A very beautiful place at this point. There are so many flowers planted by their daughter. Coupled with the scenery of lush islands floating around it is perfect.

The lake features crystal white water and beautiful fishes swim around.

"I gotta go, I want to test something"

Lily parted ways with his dearest since he need to test his ideas. 

"Take care"

She waved and smile sweetly.

She also needs to test her own ideas. 

Taking away the part of the data of the bird that allows for the conversion of bones into energy to strengthen something. He fused it with the stones and added bones to the bottom. The result is surprising, the energy of the bones slowly drains away and strengthened the stones.

Yen can only shake her head since they currently can't produce higher-quality bones. 

She decided to just ignore it for some moment and goes to visit Lily.

Unknown to her, the fishes and plants in the lake also started to change.

It didn't take her a while to arrive at his floating island. This place is also beautiful, but a different kind of beauty.

She can't understand why Lily thought that upside-down trees make for a good design. 

She walk further in and saw an amalgamation of a bird and wing fish. It can swim and walk on land, but it seems to can't fly, it can only glide.

She ignored it and continue, soon she saw him. 

He's currently working on a fish that is a combination of all good parts of armored weird fin and wing fish. Weird enough it also possesses centipede-like legs. 

It is covered in white bony armors and eating bones.

"Ohhh you're here"

Lily seems surprised.

"Is that a centipede fish?"

Yen finds the idea weird.

"Yeah, kinda, I find that maybe we can make our creatures stronger by giving them the ability to grow stronger by eating bones.

Did your idea work?"

He's curious about what she's making

"That's a good idea

Yeah it worked"

She smiled, as much as she finds the idea of centipede fishes disturbing, she can't argue it's also a good one.

Yen brought Lily to the lake and showed him. He's kinda shocked.

He scooped a bit of water and inspect it.

It's a good surprise for him.

This can improve the overall state of energy in this place.

Yen is satisfied when she saw the expression of Lily. She also thinks that his idea can improve the other creature's designs.

None of them noticed that the fishes are turning white.

They then rested for a while and left the space once they're at their peak.

The outside is dark at this point, but they know their destination.

Yen transformed into being an owl and grabbed the ball of vines which is lily. She flew to the mountain with great speed. Even with Lily, it doesn't affect her speed since spirits don't have weight.

Once exhausted they will take breaks and continue flying.

This continues for a good 3 days until they finally reach their destination.

The mountain is as beautiful as expected. 

They landed on the beautiful patch of flowers. The smell of flowers lingered in the air.

Lily took a flower and inspect it.

They both looked surprised. Such a simple flower possesses such high quality.

Soon they took a lot of different flowers, of course, they made sure to only take as much that it won't damage the place. 

"This should be enough, let's go and add this to the garden, she will surely like it"

Yen said and they both nob

With a flash of light, they disappeared

-a while later- 

Streaks of lights appeared on the place. It's a group of maidens standing on swords. Once they saw the missing flowers they instantly grew pale. 

The face of the one leading them suddenly turns pale from anger and her lips quiver.

"Who dares steal from my medicinal garden!?!?!?"

Violent energy gushed out from her and blew some stones away.

The girls behind her back down with fears on their faces.

"What are you standing there?! Quickly find the culprit!! I refuse to believe they are far!"

The faces of the maidens turn paler and quickly started searching all around.

The whole place was in chaos and meanwhile, the culprit are having fun.
