Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2: Dream(1)

Elvin was sitting on the side of her bed, staring at the floor. She was deep in her thoughts.   

Pitter-patter, pitter-patter

There was a downpour outside and in many houses, rainwater started leaking, and some were also destroyed in the flood yet nothing seemed to affect Hugo's house. The interior of the house was silent and even colder than the outside.

Elvin who was immersed in her thoughts suddenly stood up and went outside of her room. She walked down the stairs to the living room.

It was silent as if she was the only person in this whole house, Elvin slowly walked towards the master bedroom. She pushed open the door finding no one inside, she soon noticed an old mirror on the corner of the room and walked in finding herself in front of a mirror. It was a traditional full-length mirror.

Standing before the mirror Elvin glanced at her reflection making her feel weird as if the one in the mirror wasn't herself but another person. Time seemed to have stopped, and Elvin kept staring at the reflection which was somehow abnormal to her.

"Who are you?" Elvin couldn't help but ask. Her reflection started smiling creepily as if it was waiting for her to ask that. Before she could react, she found herself in the kitchen.

"Huh?" Elvin was confused as to what was happening

"El why are you standing over there in a daze?" Gilbert's annoyed voice was heard right behind her, making her jump in fright.

"What? Why are looking like you saw some ghost?"

"You... what are you doing behind me like that! And why are you here?"

"This is also my home not only yours, I can go anywhere I like. Stop acting like this and help mom with cleaning"

"Cleaning?" Elvin asked unable to understand the situation but gilbert ignored her and started searching for something in the kitchen.

Elvin walked out of the kitchen after observing gilbert for a while. she stood at the entrance to the living room where her parents were busy on their own, she chose to observe and understand the situation. Irin was arranging the documents and other things while Albert was talking with someone on phone. It was raining outside and water was leaking into their house. Elvin understood that sooner or later their house will be submerged in water from how things were going. 

"El help me put the books and documents in a safe and high place" Irin's cold voice rang in her ear, waking up from her thoughts. She walked toward her mother and hurriedly helped in arranging things. Soon her father and brother joined in as well but still, It took a lot of time to completely finish everything.

Elvin was sitting on the sofa exhausted looking outside. It was raining heavily outside and water started coming inside hence they all went to the second floor. She is not confident of the fact that this is a dream because it felt too real, she could even feel the exhaustion from carrying everything and also the pain when she hurt herself before, thinking about the mirror she can't help but feel petrified. She knew that all this might be real but also can't help denying this assumption.

She took a deep breath and glanced at her brother. Gilbert was lying down on the sofa engrossed in his own thoughts. Seeing him like this Elvin can't help but be curious about what he was thinking but soon she felt dizzy and lost consciousness.

When she regained consciousness, she was in a box-like room alone. The room was painted completely white and one of its sides was completely covered in a blood-red curtain.
