The trees were all bending in the same direction with their leaves rustling in the wind. Not a single living thing around the back gate of the village could be heard. The hissing of the wind gave the impression of a ghost taunting people, which together with a tense atmosphere made most people shiver.

All eyes were now on the beast girl that had the courage to completely disrespect the mutant by hitting him with his own food. It was a jaw-drop situation that none of the present people have seen before. The beast and the mutant were both completely silent and staring at each other from up close.

"Why is he not doing anything?" Paul asked eventually.

"I think he is more shocked than we are," a villager found the courage to answer.

Two minutes later, the mutant tensed his muscles so hard that the veins popped out and screamed furiously, forcing everyone to cover their ears. That was not the case for B who was simply standing there despite his breath stinking of dead human meat and spit coming out through the mask made of canvas. It was so loud and terrifying that even the crows situated on the fence and on the rooftops flew away.

His scream soon turned into coughing with blood coming out from underneath his mask.

"I have extremely sensitive ears, you know? My acute senses can also be my weakness as loud noises up close like this can deafen me. I can't have you do whatever you want," the girl said in a low voice and with a serious look.

She opened her fist and showed the mutant his tongue.

"What? I couldn't even see her moving."

"What happened?"

The villagers were shocked.

"Just so you know, this could have been your heart, but that would've been too much of an easy death for what you did," she added as she crushed the tongue in her fist. Blood spilled out through her fingers.

The mutant couldn't hold back his anger anymore and raised his gigantic hand to smash her head down from above.

"AAAAA!"

Just as he began to swing his fist down, he lost his balance. B threw the leg she was holding up distracting the mutant for a moment and used that opportunity to push his left foot backward with her own. Thing that made him fall forward. He tried to quickly regain his balance by supporting his weight on his arm, but it wasn't possible. His arm had already fallen prey to the beast girl's claws and fell.

The sound of a sword cutting through the air made the mutant panic as he was struggling to position himself to fight.

"This is farewell," the girl said as the sword she picked up with her toe was quickly spinning mid-air next to her. Before he could turn, she caught the sword by the handle skillfully and slashed the mutant's head off as one would cut through a cake. The difference between the two was undeniable.

The body of the human monster fell to the ground with a bang. The fight ended before the leg thrown up in the air touched the ground.

"Yeeeeeeeees!"

"Huraaaaaaaaa! She did it."

The nightmare class of the few villagers left alive was over and they had just survived the most horrific night yet. Tears of joy could be seen in everyone's eyes as they were bursting into screams of happiness. The rays of the sun were now reaching the settlement, bathing in the sun the image of the hero girl that saved them from death.

"I am so glad you woke up, B!" Paul said with a smile and tears at the corners of his eyes.

"That's our girl," Oliver came in and slapped the girl on the back, which led to growling and hostility from her.

"How the heck did I even get here? Where is the witch?" B asked confused.

"She entered the village to finish the job the creatures started. She wants to kill whoever is left alive, or force us into the mountains."

"Her main target all this time has been her fellow sister witch, Anta," Paul added.

"Whaaaaaaaat?! She's a witch?" The girl didn't hide her amazement at all.

"So that's why she knew so many things and tested me back then."

"She wanted to see if you can protect us as we were running out of choices. None expected you to actually kill Mordor."

"Now that you mention it, where is gran?"

The silence was the only answer she got.

"Fuck this, I'm going back after her!" B said with determination in her eyes, squeezing her fists.

That's the moment an earthquake started to unfold. A huge wall made of solid and thick rock was slowly coming out of the ground, completely eradicating everything in its path toward the infinite blue sky.

It was now so massive that once it settled out fully, one could barely see the sky from up close if they looked up. It was glowing due to a thin layer of magical ice. The wall seemed to extend around the whole village denying anyone from entering or leaving.

Without losing time, the beast girl made some distance from the wall and turned back towards it.

"She wants to jump it?"

"Wow, that's beyond reckless!"

"That's impossible!"

After creating a bit of momentum, B jumped as high as she could, completely surpassing herself and overcoming the expectations of the villagers. Still, she only managed to reach less than halfway up the wall. The ice covering the wall was making the girl slip down at an increasing speed. She tried to stop the fall with a sword that shattered at the impact, with her claws that didn't go in, and even with her teeth. Nothing worked.

"Damn, damn, damn!"

Her frustration was coming out as she fell back down the wall. She tried four more times, but to no avail.

Seeing that nothing was working, B started punching the wall, but again with no success. No matter how much power she put into her punches, the wall wouldn't even crack a millimeter. It was incredible. The power of magic was mind-blowing.

"Graaaaaaaaaaaaan!" she shouted, then continued to punch the wall as tears were coming down her cheeks. It was only for a short time, but the girl was already surprisingly attached to Anta. Or was it that she felt the need to return the favor of saving her life? Not even she knew the reason. All she wanted right now was to save her, but the huge wall was an obstacle that she was not able to overcome at that moment.

"Listen, my children," the warm voice of the old woman could be heard by everyone as if it was traveling through the sky in order to reach far and distant lands.

"I created this wall to protect you all, but it will not be enough. I can’t keep it for long either."

"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" the girl shouted repeatedly as tears were flooding her cheeks, and without stopping from punching the massive wall.

"Quiet, punk! Learn to respect the elders. This is why I hate kids like you."

Anta replied sternly in order to push away some of the girl's feelings and make their final moment easier to overcome. She wanted to protect her.

"Liar, liar, liar!"

"There is something coming down from the sky resembling a huge fireball. Emer used her enormous amount of magic to make sure she will obliterate everything, preventing everyone from escaping. I have lost my eyesight so I can make this wall to protect you all. You need to run as it will surely break at the impact with her otherworldly power."

"I hate you, witches! You all do whatever the fuck you want without giving a damn about the rest of us. You are all powerful and selfish." B replied powerlessly and fell to her knees.

At that moment, she hated herself for being unable to do anything. She was trying so hard, yet she couldn't help. She was so strong, yet so weak against Emer. Such was the difference between the strongest being on the planet and her.

People were starting to panic as the previously small fireball was now covering half of the sky seen by their eyes. It was so terrifying that the villagers started to run in the opposite direction immediately, completely leaving behind everything they had built throughout their lives. They were running with all their might and with a level of fear in their hearts that one could not even begin to imagine.

"Run, you stupid brat! I saved your life so you can save humanity from going extinct. Don't let my sacrifice be in vain."

These were the last words B would hear from her gran for a long time, if not forever. As soon as the girl heard this, she turned around and sprinted away. She didn't look back for a second.

That day, the villagers were reminded of how terrifying the strongest and most evil beings on the planet were. They were reminded of how powerless they were against those born with magic. It was a memory none will ever forget that will lead to lifetime traumas. The great fear was instilled in everyone's hearts and it was there to remain for many years.

That was not the case for B, whose hate towards Emer and witches, in general, was just growing. She remembered the promise she made to her dead father to avenge him and her mother. Now they've taken another one from her and it was unacceptable.

"Live on and avenge me, Saori!"
