The battle between Yang and Lixue started, and the audience including us was very excited. Heavy silence permeated the surface, as Yang's spearheaded my daughter's barrier in front of her face.

However, he couldn't penetrate inside due to her heavy defensive spell. Yang jumped away immediately when he saw her doing well.

Her opponent inserted his ki aura within his spear. His weapon emitted light, sharpening its blade to cut a double-layered sheer.

My daughter shut down her barrier to preserve the mana within her body. Thirty seconds was the cooldown period, so she had to keep him busy.

Both of these young combatants were determined to win and declaring it as a tie immediately was very thin.

Yang was a warrior type, who specialized in close-to-close combat. This man shouldn't be underestimated and his dangerous weapon should be kept a look at.

Whilst my daughter was a mage, who possessed ice attributes. Her wisdom was truly outstanding and no one could become her substitute.

But I advised everyone not to look her down. Even though she's aligned with magic, she studied martial arts under my stern teaching.

Lixue cast a silent spell to debuff her opponent's passive skill. Then, she jumped away and extended her staff to cast another spell. Her opponent was stunned for a second and experienced a cold blizzard-like hell. With this entertaining duel, this battle gave us a trill.

"Wonderful, that's a nice attack, Lixue!" my wife overjoyed and pumped her fist up and down. "Yeah, that's a nice counterattack," I commented as I observed it.

Yang flung away from her attack magic, but he remained unfazed despite her powerful trick. When he regained his balance, he immediately formed an attack stance. Ready to strike her down and coerced her to drop off on the ground.

He grabbed his spear tightly and rushed to her spot.

Consequently, Lixue stepped back and activated her barrier. Trying to contain his multiple strikes. To her surprise, he used an inspire ki-power to hit her shield harder. I was overwhelmed with joy because his judgment was right.

'If you're enemy is using a shield, continue to hit it until the user yield. This kid is too cynical and I can see that his attacks are critical,' I commented, smiling.

"Lixue is having a hard time regenerating her mana. She's being pushed back," Xue stated as she scanned her status. "I can tell. But our daughter is a genius in terms of magic. She can manage because she's our child," I assured her as I clutched my right hand to her smooth hand tightly. Then, I placed my left hand on top of it.

"Hmph, the weapon is draining her mana. I could see it is absorbing her shield and covering it into ki. But my daughter is still unaware of its special stats. I want to tell her about it, but... it will ruin the fun. It is a duel that she must win without my help," moaned Xue as she rubbed her cheeks on my shoulder. "Worry not. She can defeat him. But she has to strengthen her resolve to do it. Let's just hope she finds it out by herself," I reassured.

Lixue cast a huge ice ball and tossed it to her enemy. But her opponent cut it into the half with ease. Then, he rushed to her position, forcing her to flee. Her opponent gurgled into laughter as he followed her as he pleased.

My daughter flipped up in the air to avoid his attack. She cast an ice blade to hit him from behind.

Yang immediately covered his back. His action was well-timed.

"Whoa," the audience was in awe. And so we were.

Yang jumped away to make room. He wiped his sweat out of his face.

On the other hand, Lixue extended a hand and her ice blade attacks resumed. Keeping him destructed off of the pace.

"Yes, good job, Lixue. Keep him busy. Don't make him form a stance. Or you will lose the chance!" cheered Xue as she watched her daughter hitting him continuously. "Chill down, my wife. You're bothering the other guest," I whispered in her ears.

However, she pinched my chest angrily.

"Shut it. Let them listen or continue to eat. We're the host of this event. Do you want me to keep them entertained in the end?" Xue fumed as she pinched me harder. It wasn't painful, but her anger was undeniably scary. "Stop, stop it. Okay, you won. Continue, Xue," I grabbed her hand to stop her.

"Hmph, you better keep your mouth shut. Just cheer your daughter, okay?" Xue demanded. "O-o-okay, I will," I nodded with a shaky lip.

'Jeez, women are hard to please. I want to slap her, but... I love her,' I simpered as I rubbed her head to pet her.

My wife leaned her head on my shoulder again with a smiling face.

Men should respect their wives regardless of how aggressive they were. Love them as long as you can because once they disappeared, you would be overwhelmed with sadness and keep looking for her existence anywhere.

'I love you, my wife,' I kissed her forehead.

"Hey, what the kiss for this time?" Xue was confused. "It's nothing. Just keep your eyes on the match, my wife," I advised as I observed our daughter.

Lixue was almost reaching her limit. Her mana within her body was slowly decreasing in its number.

Whilst Yang regained his stability for a minute. I could see from my position that he hadn't released his full power.

Her opponent vanished from his position in a blink of an eye.

Lixue was caught off-guard in surprise.

He appeared behind her and smashed her rear side. Luckily, she used her staff to block his attack.

*Tink*

A loud impact permeated the surface. Everyone covered their eyes from the air it released.

'Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes... it is letting go,' I commented.

Lixue gestured to cast a spell, but before she could pull it off, he vanished from his position.

Then, he appeared behind her. Strike her down.

Fortunately, Lixue managed to dodge it by stepping aside, two steps away from the spear. She immediately jumped away with a dead-tired look.

Yang clicked his tongue upon seeing it. He followed her immediately and tried to strike her chest.

Lixue used her shield once again. However, it wasn't enough to stop him.

He penetrated it and hit her hard.

"Gooagh," Lixue flung away on the wall. Then, her body dropped down to the surface. "Lixue!" Xue stood up in worry.

'Shit, Lixue hang in there,' I clenched my fist tightly. 'I believe in you.'

"Oooh, that was easy. It didn't even give me a sweat," Yang shrugged as he looked at her position. "S-s-shut it," Lixue used her staff to stand up slowly.

"You know... We don't have to continue this. Mages are useless when it comes to a one-on-one battle. Especially, since it is futile to face a hardcore warrior like me. All of the audience knows the difference between the power of our role. Why do you think?" asked Yang as he tossed his spear in the air. She panted as she tried to regain her posture. "Stop talking. I can beat you up," declared Lixue as he cast a spell.

An ice blade rained on his position. But Yang extended his weapon and spun it on his hand to deflect her attacks.

"Futile," Yang smirked. "Shut it, pervert," Lixue placed a hand on her stomach where she received a mild injury.

"Oh-ho, you're really my future wife. Don't you think it is about time for you to surrender?" Yang advised as she formed his stance. "I don't think so, pervert," Lixue cast a defensive spell, and two barriers appeared to counter it.

"Oh, no, Lixue is in trouble. She hasn't used her full power because of that weapon," Xue was worried. "Yeah, this is really bad. She hasn't figured out that he's converting her mana into his ki-power. Lixue, you have to win this. Hold on," I prayed.

*Ting* *Ting* *Ting* *Ting*

"Call your partner. Call him. You can't, right? You can't. Because I will not let you call your partner even though I agree!" Yang jeered as he kept hitting her. "Shut it, pervert!" Lixue rolled down and rained another ice blades.

Yang continued to spearhead my daughter's position.

Lixue's mouth was starting to bleed. Her mana was draining.

"Lixue, oh no. Cast the spell, please. I cannot bear to watch this," Xue buried her face in my chest. "Shit, calm down. Your daughter is still alive," I comforted her to appease her.

I wanted to step in, but it would automatically result in her defeat.

Not only us who took pity on our daughter but also the audience. Everyone was cheering for her to win this match.

"Wait, I don't understand. I think we're being fooled by her trick. Why she hasn't transformed into her combat form?" Xue was confused. "Wait, I also haven't thought about it. Her ears... it is still in her human form," I rubbed a hand on my mouth as I realized it.

'Lixue's ear should be sharper, but it still remains in its normal form. I don't get it. Don't tell me,' I was bewildered.

"My love, she's preserving her reserved mana," gushed Xue as she finally solved it. "Huh?" I perplexed. "Our daughter... She cast it. She cannot transform because she is keeping her magic circle invisible!" Xue rejoiced as she waved my shoulders vertically.

'Huu-uh?' I was confused.

"We will meet our son-in-law!" Xue declared. "Nooooo!" I screamed.

'No, my daughter. No!' I stood up from my chair and tried to stop it.

However, Lixue flicked a hand and activated her trump card.

Yang poured ki to drag her up and struck her multiple times up the air. But fortunately, Lixue used her remaining mana to cast a strong barrier.

As he was about to strike her, Yang stopped.

A black miasma appeared out of nowhere. A man covered with a black mask appeared.

Lixue fell on his spot and caught her with his arms.

All of us were astonished upon seeing him.

'Holver Arnoa?' I was confused. But I was thankful it wasn't her partner that my wife wanted to see.

"Wuhaha! Thank goodness, too bad, my love. It is Holver Arnoa," I gurgled into laughter. "Oooh, that's a good name. His face is average, but it doesn't matter. If my daughter loves him, I will accept him with open arms," Xue was glad.

"To tell you the truth, this is a welcoming party for his master. Holver Arnoa is working for the new clan master of an unregistered clan. The duel is just for entertainment. He finally arrived," I explained promptly as I pointed a finger at the person of interest. "Ooh... That's good. Then, he is a good person. I don't mind letting him date our daughter," Xue clasped her hand together and smiled.

"He... He's over thirty years of age, though," I shuddered. "Age doesn't matter, my love. Didn't I marry you when you were thirty-six years old? Fourteen years gap is nothing compared to these two love birds. Kyaaa, I love it. She's really my daughter. Her grandmother will love to hear this good news," I rejoiced as she shook her vertically.

'You fool. That's not our future son-in-law. That's a legendary criminal, my love. Muahahaha. Screw it. I won't let it happen. Fuck yeah!' I made guts pose.

"Holver Arnoa. Thank goodness, you arrived on time. See that kid? That's part of the rules to call for a companion!" I cheered, calling his attention. He followed my voice and glared at me. His cold gaze made me happy. "Oh my gosh. You're really a silly husband, my love," Xue placed a hand on her forehead and heaved a tiring sigh.

'Kill the son of a bitch, Holver. Kill him. My love, you are very wrong. She didn't cast it. She didn't summon anything. It is such a coincidence that he appears when he cast a teleportation spell. That's just a coincidence. Muahahaha, I won't hand over my daughter to anyone. Over to my dead body!' I declared in an elated tone inside my head.

"Kill him. Make him suffer. Save my daughter's marriage!" I demanded. "Are you for real?" Xue groused. "Yes, and I swear to God I will fuck him up whoever that person she met on the bridge," I asserted with smiling teeth.

"Don't tell me you forgot, my love. I even summoned you during my first duel. You received a special buff when you got absorbed by that miasma, right?" Xue pouted her cheeks in disappointment. "Eh?" I stunned. "As I said before, history repeats itself. My gosh, accept the reality before you," Xue shrugged it off and continued to watch the match.

'Really? I fuck up,' I was wretched.
