3 Years later
*bzzzt*
“Phew, I’m finally done putting this vehicle together.” I said while wiping the sweat from my forehead and admiring my new creation. What stood before me was a 45 foot long 9 foot wide or 13.7 meter long 2.74 meter wide tracked monster with a large armored cabin and two armored cargo spaces for materials while all being powered by a small fusion breeder reactor that is especially armored so I don’t get reduced to a pile of ash if it takes a couple of shots and blows up.
“Here Harold, you should drink some water since you’ve been sweating a bit.” Amata said while handing me a container of water. “Yeah, I probably should thank you, Amata.” *gulp gulp* “Haa yeah that hit the spot thanks again, Amata.” “No problem.” She replied with a small smile on her face. I then turned my focus back to the vehicle in front of me after finishing the water Amata handed me a moment before and started thinking.
Damn, I did make a pretty sick ride for myself didn't I. Though I won’t really be riding it much since I’m gonna have to act as the defense for the vehicle while it transports my automated manufacturing machines, parts, and materials to the RobCo Facility.
Hmm let me see if I’m forgetting anything, I could install a turret now that I think of it, yeah that wouldn’t be such a bad idea for defense but I will have to make it a laser turret so I don’t have to bring more ammo and I can just run it off the vehicles power plant too. I will also need active defenses for shooting down missiles for when I inevitably get ambushed in the wasteland by raiders or some other hostile group at some point.
A few moments later after a bit of thought, I decided to change my mind a bit. You know what, I can just have four laser turrets mounted on the roof instead, which will prioritize missiles, and any other threat after that will be set to secondary solving both issues with one solution, yeah that’s a much better idea.
Moving on from that it will also be a big pain in the ass to move this monster of a vehicle through the vault given its size and my current amount of worker bots so I’ll need to build a dozen more. That will then bring my total up to 25 so I can have it disassembled and moved efficiently through the vault for when it’s time for me to venture out into the wasteland.
I could also see if Amata has any ideas. Yeah, let me do that. “Hey, what do you think about these upgrades for the vehicle, and do you see anything that can be improved or added?” I asked while also telling her about the ideas I came up with.
“Hmm, they seem to cover most of your needs. I don't really see much that you can do to improve it further other than maybe adding more defenses and a bed to sleep on but you only really built it to move your stuff to that RobCo facility you told me about so there's not much point doing more if that’s the only thing you’re going to use it for in the end.”
“Sir, I require a name.” The vehicle said in a synthetic male-sounding voice since I decided I wanted to automate the driver so I didn't have to be behind the wheel when traveling. “Do you have any ideas, Amata?” I asked her.
“Well, what about Hauler since that’s what you're going to be using it for.” She replied after thinking for a couple of seconds. “Yeah, that’ll work for now.” “Okay, your name will be Hauler for now though I may change it in the future.” I said.
“Okay, sir my name is now Hauler.” The robot/truck said. “Also change the way you call me to boss. I like the sound of that better Hauler.” “Okay, no problem Boss.”
Okay, now that's over and done with let's move on to some of my other projects like my weapons and armor. “Hey, Amata I’m gonna head over to my other projects and give them a look over so if you want to stay here and look at Hauler some more that's fine.” “No, I'll come with you. I've looked at it enough.” She said while shaking her head.
“Okay then let’s head over to my new weapons first and we’ll then go look at my armor after that. Oh also if you have any ideas that could improve any of them tell me since they could be potentially life-saving.” “Okay, will do.” She said lastly before we headed over to where my new main weapon was sitting.
When we arrived in front of it I looked it over for a bit. After I was done giving it a once over I started thinking about how I ended up creating such a fearsome weapon and if there was anything else I could potentially add to it that could improve it further.
So I had decided to go with .308 in the end since I’ve been growing like a beanstalk and I now stand at a height of 6 foot 3 inches or about 188 cm while also weighing 262 pounds or almost 119 kg so I should have no issue handling the recoil from the .308 rounds.
I also decided to add two extra barrels to the gun to up the lifespan of the barrels as well as make every barrel a heavy barrel so I won’t have to worry about the barrels heating up and having them warp really unless I fire a stupid amount of rounds without letting the weapon cool, but that shouldn’t be an issue.
Since I added those extra upgrades the weight of the gun went up quite a bit resulting in the recoil being reduced quite a bit as well. As for the fire rate of the weapon I ended up making it variable with a five-setting dial by the trigger that goes from 2,000 all the way up to 6,000 rpm. That I can also change on the fly which will be quite handy in the future if I want to conserve ammo or just turn whatever I have it pointed at into a bloody stain on the ground with bits of flesh.
As for the magazine I went with an armored backpack magazine capped at 10,000 rounds so I won’t have to reload unless I’m throwing a storm of lead down range for an extended period while also adding some protection for my back. The only problem with it is the reloads are kind of a pain in the ass since I can’t really carry another mag on my person since they’re massive and take up the entirety of my back. But I ended up resolving this issue with a new perk I got from reaching 11 strength finally.
| Herculean Strength | Requirements 11 Strength: You've surpassed human limitations for strength, thus you are granted these abilities, for every point in Strength you can now exert a force of 100 pounds per point instead of the default 50, a one-time +350 carry weight, +100 carry weight for every point in strength instead of the default 10 per point, along with access to an item box of sorts based on said carry weight.
So I can now reload it with one of my spares relatively quickly instead of having to set myself up with spare magazines nearby to reload with which would have taken a lot of time I may have not had in a combat situation. Lastly the stats it ended up having in the Pip-Boy also weren’t too bad.

As for making any further improvements, I don’t think there's much I can do other than maybe adding some sort of melee weapon onto it if a hostile gets too close though that wouldn’t be really necessary since I have those electrified gauntlets now on my new armor. But let me see if Amata has come up with anything.
“So what do you think, any ideas?” ”Hmm, pick it up for a moment. I want to see you holding it.” “Alright” I replied as I picked it up off of its rack and held it while Amata started circling me with a thoughtful look.

“Well, what about an ammo counter?” “An ammo counter, yeah that wouldn't be such a bad idea since it would allow me accurately track the amount of ammo I have left instead of me having to go off of feel. Great thinking Amata.” I said while putting it back on its rack and walking over to give Amata a hug since it’s always a good idea to farm some brownie points whenever I can.
After I was done hugging a now very happy Amata we moved over to my anti-material rifle to give it a once over and see if there is anything that needs to be done to it or improved. Though I don’t think there is much more I can do to it since it was just made with the purpose of being accurate and being able to take out armored targets that my Mulcher wouldn't be able to handle and it seems to do that job very well from the tests I performed with it.
Although I could’ve made it a semi-automatic but I wanted it to be as accurate as possible so I ended up making it a bolt action similar in appearance to the one from fallout new vegas just with a better scope that has a variable zoom and a better performing muzzle brake other than that it is almost identical appearance. Also, the stats on it were pretty decent as well when I finished it.

“What do you think about this one Amata?” I asked while she began to think for several seconds before she came back with. “Well, what about a suppressor.” “Well, that's another great idea Amata that will definitely help if I want to hide my position. Look at my genius student coming up with all these great ideas today one after another.” I said which got a smile and a giggle.
I guess I’m gonna have to mill a new muzzle brake that will allow me to throw on a suppressor on the fly since I don’t particularly want to have to unscrew my muzzle brake when I want to go quiet. But that shouldn’t take me more than a few hours.
We then went around and inspected some of my other weapons that were either completed or in progress before I turned towards Amata and said. “Well we went over most of my current weapons, let's now head over and take a look at my armor.” “Okay, Oh also I was hoping we could have dinner together tonight. What do you think?”
“Yeah that sounds good but I’ll cook since you’ve been a big help today though my dad may end up joining us if he's off work.” I said, which brought her mood down a bit.
“Oh okay though I would've liked to have had a meal together with just the two of us.” “Well if he ends up joining us today we can have a meal/date together tomorrow.” I said, bringing her mood back up to where it was before if not a bit higher.
After getting that resolved I made my way over to my new armor with Amata trailing right behind me and once there I gave it the same look over as I did every other piece of equipment I made before it.
Hmm let me think, I’ve upgraded the plating quite significantly from my last armor to the point it will stop .308 AP without issue on the entirety of the armor and it can even stop larger caliber rounds with more penetration if shot in the chest area as well.
I also ended up adding all those upgrades I had come up with three years ago as well such as the spiked pauldrons, the extra armor around the head and neck area, and lastly integrated stun gun function into the gauntlets of the armor that can be used to disable targets temporarily or permanently though I did end up beefing up the knees a bit more.
As for the new helmet I had designed and made, it had all the bells and whistles I had planned for it such as the turret targeting modules, rangefinder, voice modulation module, and the air/gas filter as well as a couple of new additions I had decided to add, those being night and thermal vision because I didn’t really want to use a perk point on the Friend Of The Night to get night vision immediately though I will get it eventually.
Lastly, the stats for my new armor and helmet were a huge improvement from my last set.

Other than that I can’t really come up with anything else that I want to add to it though if it was a suit of power armor that would be a whole different story since I have a ton of ideas that I would like to try but hopefully I will encounter a suit of power armor relatively quickly after setting out into the capital wasteland in two years.
Though I may not have come up with any ideas, maybe Amata has one. “Do you see anything that can be added or improved?” “Hmm, I can’t seem to come up with anything. Maybe try putting it on and something might come to me.” “Sure we can try that.” I said lastly before suiting up.
After suiting up Amata had me do a few turns while she was looking me over before saying. “Well, I can’t really think of anything else we could add since you seem to have everything covered with this one. Though I will say you will have no problem intimidating others since your helmet is very savage looking along with your large size and spiked armor.”
“Yeah, I made it that way so I could put pressure on others to prevent some attacks or maybe help out when I’m trying to make a deal with someone out in the wasteland since they will more than likely not want to mess with me or piss me off.” “Yeah, I think it will help with that for sure.”
After we were done looking my armor over and not coming up with anything else to add or improve it I took it off and put it back where it was initially. We then headed over to my manufacturing areas for a bit to give them a look and see how much they produced today.
“Well I think that’s enough for today why don’t we go get that dinner since it seems about that time, and thanks again for helping me out, Amata.” “No problem Harold, I always enjoy our time together.” “I as well, So do you know what you want to eat tonight?” She put on a contemplating look for a bit before coming up with.
“Well, what about pizza tonight?” “Yeah, that’ll work, Okay let's head out.” I said lastly before we exited my workshop/research facility heading in the direction of my home through the gray vault hallways while passing the occasional vault dweller on our way.
