A knock on the dorm door summoned Yang to get off her bed. As she did, she passed by her new roommate of one week. Yang playfully tugged the girl's ear.

"Ow!" Weiss whined, "What was that for?!"

"Getting the door was your duty," Yang joked.

Weiss went back to her book. She lay on the bed with a pillow under her arms and a cup of tea close by. Unlike Yang, she wasn't under a blanket.

Schnee protested, "And cleaning up the place was yours. Yet I had to wash my hands after picking up your dirty—"

Yang opened the door before Schnee could finish. She stuck her tongue out at the last possible second before turning to see who it was at their door. To her surprise, it was her old roommate.

"Evening," Blake greeted.

"You coming?"

"Oh, yeah!" Yang rubbed the back of her neck, "Give me a second. I just...uh." She pulled her phone out as quickly as she could. Something Blake noticed immediately.

"You forgot. Didn't you?" Belladonna asked.

Between three classes that day and an exam to study for in the morning, Yang couldn't hide the bead of sweat sliding down her forehead. As much as she found it attractive, Blake's perceptiveness wasn't doing Xiao-Long any favors.

"I didn't forget!" Yang lied.

Weiss interjected, "What'd you forget?"

Yang gave a side-eyed glare to the sophomore. To which Weiss just smiled. The book in her hand read 'Pride and Prejudice'. Thankfully, Weiss subtly tapped her freshly painted finger on the word 'Pride'.

"A nightclub opening!" It all came back to her. Including the excitement. "It's me, Blake, Ruby, and a few other people. You wanna come, Princess?"

Yang's attempt got a roll of the eyes from Blake. A smirk followed, but Blake did feel like she was watching a kid try her luck after getting out of trouble seconds earlier.

Weiss looked up at the two women.

Blake's hair wasn't as long as Yang's, but it did go past her shoulders. It also had a little bow at the top. Black and curly vs gold and wavy.

Most of Blake's outfit was black. Yang's was a good mix of matching colors. Belladonna's boots put her on eye level with Yang, when normally she'd have to look up by four inches.

Belladonna's tight black jeans and leather belt did catch Weiss' eye. Mainly the dark rose design on the belt that matched the design on the thin, long-sleeve top she had. Yang's blue jeans were more loose fit, thus her lack of a belt meant Weiss got a peek at the woman's hips. Not only that, Yang's yellow t-shirt top did nothing to hide her cleavage.

The only parts of Blake Belladonna's ebony skin on display were her beautiful face, the midriff, a bit of her chest, and what could be seen in the purposeful tears of her jeans. A gothic choker collar did mask some of her neck. Yang Xioa-Long's peach skin tone was present, likewise, from her face down to her chest. Her muscled arms, or biceps since her bionic hand began at her forearm, clearly showed her to be the strongest woman in the room.

Weiss, the lightest person in the room in every way, immediately looked back down at her book.

She spoke as if she was in a rush, "I'm not into the type of parties you two are. I'll be here. Have fun."

Yang shrugged and went to her side of the dorm. She grabbed her phone, phone charger, wallet, keys, and bionic arm charger. She snatched from her closet a purple shirt, some pink-tinted sunglasses, and walked toward the door. But as she closed the door, she had one last bit of information for Weiss.

"By the way, I'm using your subscription to watch some 'smutty isekai anime' this month. Bye!"

Weiss responded with a concerned, "Wait? You What!?" When the door shut, Blake was trying and failing to hide her laughter.

"You two, pfft-are getting along."

"She's uptight, prudish, well-organized, and hates 'trash tv'. I don't. We deserve a sitcom." Yang began to walk and talk. "Speaking of situations, where's Ruby?"

"In the car," Blake followed her friend. "She's already dressed up for her first gay club. So—"

Yang took a guess, "She didn't realize getting out of the car would let everyone know she's queer?"

"Precisely."

The two reached the staircase heading down. Blake, naturally a little faster than her friend, occasionally slowed down so they could keep a casual conversation.

"This your first gay club?" Blake asked.

"Nope! This'll be my third!" Yang hopped down some steps. "It's awesome! The outfits people show up in are so cool! Then there's the music and drinks! They're gonna blow your mind!"

Blake, ever the gothic introvert, "Okay, so why am I going again?"

"It's somewhere where nobody will get pissed at you if you say 'you're gay'."

"I'm bisexual," Blake corrected.

"Calm down kitty. So am I." Yang said facetiously. The bow on Blake's head did resemble cat ears. This wasn't on purpose, but Blake did like cats. "Also, your girlfriend wants to go."

"I'm fully aware of what Ruby likes," Yang froze upon hearing that. "That wasn't an innuendo."

"Are you sure?" Yang asked, now walking with both hands on her hips. "Cause, I remember this all starting when I found you on my sister's bed in lingerie."

"No." Blake scoffed, "This all started when Ruby asked me to go see a movie based on one of my favorite books."

"50 shades?" Yang teased

"Ew! No! That book has no sense of how a healthy relationship works. Nor does it have any grasp of anatomy description during erotic situations!"

"I was just kidding! Jesus!" Yang leaned against Blake. Both were laughing at this point. Yang more than Blake, but they both got a look from the doorman as they entered the lobby. "You've actually read that book?"

She sighed, "I wouldn't call that piece of garbage a book. But yes. I've suffered through it."

The two walked outside the building with Blake's car in sight. A black compact with a single white decal on the driver's door. A moon silhouette that any anime fan would recognize. In the backseat sat a petite girl with pink earbuds in her ear, a viola in her hair, and a lightweight red hoodie.

"Isn't it like 80 degrees in that car?" Yang asked.

Blake reminded her, "She has her pride under the hood."

-'Never Miss A Beat' Night Club-

The dance was underway. As Blake found a parking spot, Ruby & Yang went on ahead. Yang wore her bisexual colors. Pink sunglasses, a purple tank top with the words 'Not A Phase' on it, and blue jeans. Compared to a few people in the crowd, she was subtle. Ruby walked around with wonder and bewilderment seeing the outlandish personalities and happiness that was more or less infectious.

Nobody was upset. Not a single person wasn't smiling. One man was waving his stripped-off pansexual flag shirt. A worker roller-skated through the dance floor with rainbow-dyed hair matching her skirt. One girl wearing a spiked leather jacket and leather pants was the wallflower until another girl half her size asked for a dance. The man with an 'ace' shirt and blue shorts seemed to catch Yang's attention.

"Nice 'ace'!" Yang called.

"Thanks, girl!" he called back.

"Yang, you're such a dork." Ruby chuckled.

Yang bumped Ruby toward the bar, "You're the one wearing a hoodie in summer." She took a seat and called to the bartender, "I'll take a negroni. She'll have apple juice."

"There are shirtless people here!" Ruby protested. She then looked to the bartender, "Orange juice."

Yang Xiao-Long and Ruby Xiao-Long Rose sat next to one another waiting for their drinks. One comfortably leaning against the bar. Eyeing the cute guys, gals, and non-binary pals in the building. The other fidgeted in her seat. Unable to keep from blushing at the sight of all the women dancing or focusing on any one of them under the pulsing lights and pounding music.

"I'm sure the staff is gonna tell them to pack it in," Yang ensured.

The bartender handed Ruby her drink, "Probably not."

"Ok," Yang faced back to Ruby, "probably not."

Ruby inhaled deeply and let out a long exhale. Her sister lost her smile and raised her glasses in concern. Yang's arm then dropped onto Ruby's shoulder.

"What's up buttercup?"

"...I'm not as comfortable with this stuff as you are. As Blake is." Ruby eyed the rim of her glass, "I thought I was, so I got this shirt but...I dunno. So far this flower is my limit."

Yang stood up to gladly hug her sister. The touch did manage to brighten the girl's drive. There weren't any jokes or puns from Yang. Just a word of comfort.

"Pride isn't about meeting a specific standard. It's about celebrating your standards."

Ruby gingerly put her arms around Yang. When her fingers interlocked, the grip became tight. Like she was trying to hold onto the words as well as the positive influence.

"I love you, Yang."

"Love you too, Rubes." When the two broke off, Rose let out a breath. As if she were gearing herself up for a battle. She grabbed her drink and chugged the orange juice like it was nothing. Granted it was orange juice after all. Yang was only surprised that her goober of a sibling wasn't suffering from a brain freeze.

Suddenly, Ruby felt a hand on her right shoulder. Instead of it being a random person like instincts would assume, it was her girlfriend.

Startled, "Blake!"

"Hi baby," Blake gave Ruby a quick little peck on the cheek. Yang cleared her throat. Blake offered as a rebuttal, "I will make out with her right here and now."

"Uh, Blake." Ruby interrupted, "Can you uh...help me with my hoodie?"

Yang raised a brow before realizing the master plan.

"Sure thing," Blake said.

The red hoodie started to unzip, revealing Ruby's pride. A string top shirt in the pattern of the lesbian flag. Blake pulled the hoodie off her date with ease.

"Better?" Yang asked.

Ruby looked at the two women in her life. Her pillars of support and love. Then again to everyone at the club. The men, women, and non-binaries. Suddenly, a feeling she never thought she'd feel came out.

"Yang, get me on your shoulders," Ruby ordered, already grabbing her sister's arms.

"Okay, Okay! Geez! You're not a toddler anymore. It'll take more than three seconds." Part of Yang's protest was due to Ruby tugging her gold locks on her way up. "How about I pluck out your red highlights?"

Ruby ignored her sister's empty threat to announce something.

"Hey everyone!" Ruby shouted catching Blake & a balancing Yang off guard. A few people stopped, but the majority of the people in the club had their attention on the little-hoisted freshman.

"I'm A Lesbian!"

The island of doubt Ruby put herself on was swept away in the wave of applause that came after her confession. The raised drinks and calls of 'alright' and 'me too' buried Ruby Rose's biggest fear.

She was a lesbian, and she wasn't alone.
