Thanks to my new memories, I now know that I am currently living in the world of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Or atleast a world that resembles it. The series takes place in a terrifying world where death can come suddenly and with little provocation.
In this Universe, the supernatural is real, and has tangible effects on the real world. However, it's kept tightly under wraps by both governments and civil institutions. It was set in the modern day, or at least in the modern day at the time it was written.
JJBA in my previous world, was a shounen manga series that featured crazy shit like Natzi cyborgs, aliens, Vampires, and people with supernatural powers running around warping reality around them.
The story was split into multiple parts. It followed the lineage of the Joestar family, and its descendants. The Joestars themselves were a family with a natural affinity towards the supernatural and many would face and battle against great evil throughout their part.
Every part had a new protagonist, and told a different story, but all would inevitably carry some connection to a previous part.
Currently, I am a supporting character in part 4, which is pretty good news for me all things considered, but I'll get into that later.
The protagonist of this part is called Josuke Higashikata, he is the son of previous protagonist, Joseph Joestar.
Josuke was a bit different from other protagonists in this series. Most of them had a reason to leave on a journey, in order to accomplish something important to them.
Josuke on the other hand never left his hometown of Morio, as his main motivation was simply to protect it and his family. Of course that wasn’t easy, given that he’d have to fight more than a few crazies with superpowers in order to protect it.
My role in this story was that of his best friend and ally in battle. Though we would start out as enemies in the beginning of the story.
As I was saying earlier, The reason that it's good news for me to be a character here in THIS part, is that the tone for part 4 was noticeably brighter in comparison to many other parts in this series.
The story it told, took place over a long period of time, and had a gentler "slice of life" feel to it. The pacing wasn't as fast as later entries, and there weren't as many main character deaths as there were in others.
Even some of the villain's here were granted a chance at redemption. Which is how I would be treated, according to the original plot anyway.
But this is still a shounen battle manga, and plenty of characters can and do die throughout every part. Even in part 4. So I know for certain that the people I care about now, and the people that I will care about in the future, will be in danger.
One of those people is actually my older brother, Keicho. He had the role of a minor villain in the original story.
In the original plot, just as in real life, he ran around town shooting people with a special bow and arrow. The arrow had the ability to grant people it pierced, supernatural powers called Stands. He shot and hit many people throughout the town of Morio, granting them Stands.
However, not everyone would be granted a stand, only those who had the potential to develop one, would. Many of those he hit ended up getting injured from being priced by the arrow.
One might think he did this in order to take over the world or something. Given that he'd basically granted many people superpowers at random.
But, Keicho's goal wasn't as grand as his actions might lead one to believe, he only did this to find someone with the ability to cure or euthanize his sick father.
Unfortunately, in the original Manga, Keicho was killed by one of the people whose stands he, himself, actually helped bring about.
Right, I haven't even talked about stands themselves despite how integral they were to the plot of JJBA. The problem is that they are actually really difficult to even describe. They are essentially physical manifestations of a stand user’s will or life energy. Usually (but not always) taking a form that resembles a ghost that floats around and follows the user’s orders.
They tend to grant a stand user, supernatural abilities that can affect the world around them, in many different ways both destructive, and constructive.
The power and appearance of a stand is usually a reflection of the user's soul. Their personality, desires, or fears might influence a Stands appearance and abilities. For example, a humanoid stand with the ability to manipulate fire would represent a person’s passion, strong will, or even their bravery.
However, all stands are bound by rules. To start, a stand user can only develop one specific stand in their life, but if their stand has potential, they might be able to gain a new ability, or find a creative use for their already established ability. So while they may only have one stand on paper, in practice that stand could have many different abilities.

Stands generally cannot be physically interacted with, Except for by other stands. However, the stands themselves can interact with the real world. If a stand is damaged, the user will also take damage, and if a stand is destroyed, the user will also die. They cannot efficiently act outside of their range, and they cannot be seen by those who do not also possess stands. All these restrictions apply in most cases. Especially for humanoid stands, but not always.
For example, there was a stand featured in part 3 called The World. It was a humanoid ghost-like stand. It could physically punch and fight with super strength, precision, and speed, but it was limited in range. It could only fight within a few meters of its user. However, in addition to that, it could also stop time for up to 9 seconds. During the stopped time its user was free to move closer to get it in range to attack. They could even fatally injure their target during the stopped time, and once time resumed again that person would die.
But not all stands work under the same rules, and there are many types of stands.
For example bound stands are stands that are stands bound to physical objects in the real world. They can be seen by, and interacted with by non-Stand users and if they are damaged or destroyed the user might not receive any damage. Like a stand bound to a specific building, a user might control everything that happens inside that building, but will not receive damage if the building is destroyed.
There are also tool type stands that take on the form of physical objects in the real world, like a fishing pole or a camera. They might appear like normal everyday tools, but they'll have a special effect, for example, a camera that can take pictures of the future, or a sword that will control whoever holds it.
Hell, I think I might have heard of a stand that is manifested as a pizza box that endlessly produces pizza, as long as the proper ingredients are fed to it. But I digress.
A different type of stand is called the Colony stand, it will be one stand made up of multiple tiny creatures of the same type, that work in conjunction to serve their users needs. These work similarly to humanoid stands except that if they are damaged the user will either receive minimal damage or no damage, depending on the stand and its ability. One example was a stand that worked inside the earth to manipulate metal, called Metalica. It was made up of multiple tiny humanoid monsters that worked in conjunction to shape and manipulate metal to match the user's will.
In general, stands are hard to quantify. They aren't all bound by the same weaknesses and strengths. They aren't even all meant to be used in combat. The only constant with stands is that they are each bound by their own individual limitations and rules.
This was what made the original series so interesting. Stand battles were less fights of raw power, and more mental battles that depended on both users trying to figure out the enemy Stand's abilities and weakness in order to get the win over one another. Every stand had a limit or a weakness, no one was perfect, or invincible.
Josuke Higashikata, the protagonist of part 4 has a stand as well. It's a humanoid stand with incredible strength, speed, precision and reflexes. But it has limited range, making it more suited for close combat than at longer distances. However despite how physically capable it is, its main ability is the power to restore objects, living creatures, and even other people.
However, it cannot restore itself nor its user. If he was heavily wounded during a fight, he’d have to go to a hospital just like everyone else. Unless he was healed by a different stand user.
My Stand is called The Hand, this stand is also humanoid, and just like Josuke's, it is also strong and very suitable for close combat, (though it is physically weaker than and slower than Josuke's). However it's main ability is the ability to erase anything it swipes with its right hand. It can even erase the space between myself and any object or person allowing me to pull them to myself and vice versa. Like short range teleportation.
My brother Keicho's stand, Bad Company, is quite different from Josuke's and mine as it's a colony stand made up of a number of tiny toy soldiers, tanks, and helicopters equipped with real weapons. Despite their small stature, each of the soldiers and their vehicles are capable of doing massive damage by using their guns, explosives, or even blades in combination. This stand has longer range thanks to its projectiles, but it must remain near my brother at all times in order to be effective. He needs to be within 5-10 meters of his small army in order to properly command it.
In fact, the attack that almost killed me earlier came from the toy soldier's rifles. I was hit by so many tiny bullets that I started drowning in my own blood from the holes in my lungs. Additionally, I was hit in my eyes so many times that I would certainly have gone blind even if I had managed to survive the damage to my lungs. But Because Josuke restored me, I am now in perfect health. Even my clothes are back in good condition. No tears, holes or blood stains.
It was near instantaneous, the moment his stand made contact with me I was healed.
That is the power of a stand. That is also what makes them so dangerous.
But I've ranted about Stands long enough.
Back to the original topic. During this arc in the story of the original manga, Josuke the protagonist, and Keicho, my older brother and minor antagonist, had a massive stand battle.
This was because Josuke, and his friend trespassed into our house thinking it was abandoned. Therefore me and Keicho, admittedly, might have overreacted.
First, Keicho shot his friend with the magic bow and arrow, which nearly killed him. He then ordered me to beat up Josuke so I tried, but lost the fight. During our fight, Keicho dragged Josuke's friend inside our house, prompting the sequence of events that lead up to their current fight upstairs. This is where we are currently.
But in the manga, Eventually, Josuke managed to get the upper hand during the fight and wounded Keicho. Keicho retreated and Josuke gave chase. After a final confrontation with him, Josuke finally learned Keicho’s true motive for his past actions. He also learned about the arrow and its connection to Dio, the major villain of part 3.
However before they could properly settle their differences, Keicho was killed by a mysterious stand user. He used his Stand Red Hot Chili Peppers, a humanoid stand with the powers of electrokinesis, and the ability to travel through electricity, to impale Keicho through his abdomen with its fist and shock him to death from the inside. Literally cooking him from the inside out.
This would kickstart the story with the protagonist finding and investigating all the people who were granted powers by either Keicho or the mysterious stand user. Trying to find the murderer’s location. Of course, If the people under investigation had no connection with either keicho nor RHCP, and didn’t use their stands to hurt others, they would pretty much just let them be. But if they used their stands to hurt the innocent and cause chaos, Josuke and his crew would put the fear of Kami into them. Eventually this would culminate in a big final battle with RHCP's user himself.
However I'll leave that discussion for later, what matters the most to me right now, is that my older brother Keicho could die soon if nothing changes. Because I've read the manga, I have Future hindsight. I can still save him!
