Suddenly, Yu XinYue heard groans coming from the other side of bushes near her. Taking a few steps back in a hurry, she gulped when she tried to listen to the sound again. Is it a human or a ghost ah?

“Ugh..”

Another groan was heard from the same place again. This time the groan was weaker compared to before. Thinking that maybe there was someone injured there, Yu XinYue stilled her fast beating heart and walked to the source of the voice at a slow pace.

“Who.. Who is there? Are you human or ghost?” Yu XinYue asked with a trembling voice.

There was no reply to her question. Looks like whatever it is, it was injured. As a doctor, she took an oath to save and heal whoever was in need. Being true to her oath as a doctor, she walked closer to that place despite her sweaty palm.

Pushing away the bushes, Yu XinYue saw a young man clad in white robes was leaning on a tree, unconscious. There was a long wound from his left shoulder that reached his right waist. Black blood was sipped from the wound and there was puss on the flesh near the wound. Looked like the one inflicting the injuries was an animal based on the claws mark.

Yu XinYue walked in a large stride and reached the young man in a few steps. Squatting in front of the young man, she holds onto his wrist to take his pulses. His pulses were weak and erratic. He was poisoned!

Not wasting any more time, she took out a set of acupuncture needles and a jar of wine that she found in the cupboard inside the bamboo house from her space. She looked at the young man and said in a low voice, “Sorry for the offense.”

Riipp…

Yu XinYue ripped the clothes of the young man and cleaned the wound using the wine, before stabbing the young man’s acupoints to stop the poison from spreading further. After cleaning the wound, she finally could see the exact situation of the young man’s wound.

The wounds were covered with a lot of thin vine that stabbed onto the young man’s flesh and black liquid was dripping from those thin vine. She reached out her hand and wanted to examine the vine closer and suddenly the vine attacked her finger. Luckily, she retracted her hand fast so the vine missed her fingers. If not, she would have gotten poisoned too.

Looking at those thin vine, Yu XinYue felt a goosebump rising on her arms. Gritting her teeth, she continues to clean that young man’s wound while avoiding those thin vine. The young man’s face turns paler and paler with the time passing. If she couldn’t remove those thin vine from that young man’s wound, he won’t be able to survive. It’s useless to cure the poison when the vine is still there.

She closed her eyes and went to her space. Running to the bamboo house, Yu XinYue opened the cupboards in hurry to check those jade bottles that were stored inside. After rummaging almost all the cupboards, she saw a small golden jade box at the corner of the shelf. Taking out the golden jade box, she opened the lid and saw a golden pill was placed inside.

When she saw the golden pill, a name flashed in her mind. JinHuo Dan. Yu XinYue closed the lid and went to the kitchen and filled a gourd with the boiled lake water before went to her bedroom and took out a set of blue genre neutral style hanfu and leaving her space.

Outside, the young man was still unconscious. His body became weaker and his lips turned black while thin black veins were crawling from his wound towards his heart location. Yu XinYue was startled when she saw how fast the poison spread even with her acupuncture technique guarding the young man’s heart.

Taking out the JinHuo Dan and feeding it to the young man, she opened the gourd and helped the young man drink. Seeing that he gulped down the pill and the water, Yu XinYue finally could relax abit. Now, the urgent situation has passed, leaving the tricky veins.

How to deal with this strange creature? Yu XinYue was deep in thought. This is the first time she saw a strange poisonous vine like this. When she was still thinking about the best method to deal with these poisonous vines, the young man frowned before he regained consciousness.

Opening his eyes, Liu Feng saw a very beautiful woman looking at his body with deep frowns. He followed her line of sight and saw that his clothes were ripped open and the young lady was looking at his bare body. His first reaction was to cover his bare body, but when he tried to move, he felt a ripping pain coming from his left shoulder until his right waist when his movement tugged on his wounds.

“Hiss..” Liu Feng took a deep breath while hissing when he felt the pains, not to mention that he couldn’t use his spiritual Qi at all to reduce the pain.

Yu XinYue heard the young man’s movements and turned her head to check on him. Looking at his still pale face but with a less dark lips, she asked with a low voice while holding his body still, “How are you feeling? Don’t move around, the poisonous veins are still on your wound.”

Liu Feng raised his eyes to look at the young maiden and saw her worries were sincere. Letting down his guard a little bit, he said with a hoarse voice, “I feel better. Thank you for your help, DaoYou.”

Yu XinYue noticed his hoarse voice and said while moving the gourd closer to his lips, “Drink more, it would help soothe your hurting throat.”

Liu Feng hesitated for a while before taking a sip. The moment the water inside the gourd touched his lips, his eyes widened and he glanced at Yu XinYue. This is spiritual spring water, who is this DaoYou?

“Drink more.” Yu XinYue urged him when she saw him stop drinking after one sip.

Liu Feng could only take a few more sips while urged by Yu XinYue. It’s not that he doesn’t want to drink the spiritual spring water, but this water was hard to obtain and it could help a cultivator in their cultivation. He felt that it’s not good to take advantage of this DaoYou when they were strangers.

Yu XinYue closed the gourd’s lid and put it beside Liu Feng before taking his wrist and checking on his pulses. After taking JinHuo Dan, the poison inside his body was neutralized and he was out of a critical situation. But without removing the poisonous veins, his body wouldn’t be able to recover fully.

Liu Feng looked at the delicate hand that was holding onto his wrist and feeling the soft and cool feeling coming from it, his face heated up. Thanks to his current condition, Yu XinYue didn’t notice his embarrassment. While he was feeling awkward, he heard Yu XinYue’s soft voice.
