Chapter 3: CH. 3. Haije’s strenght.

"Then, I will be in your care" jack said

"You picked the right team, boy, you see my team is the best you will find in this town, that will be willing to accept you, now, all you have to do, is too sign this contract" the man said, as he brought out a sheet of paper from his pocket.

On the contract, there were two rules, the first, once one signs this contract the person is not allowed to join another team until after one month unless you are sent out of the team by the team leader. The second, all the gold gotten from killing any beast, 20% is given to the team leader, while 50% out of what is remaining will be shared to any of the team members that helped you in killing the beast.

"Eh" jack was shocked, so this was why this man wants him to join his team.

"Don't be shocked, this is far more better than what other people will give, some contracts say 50% to the team leader, so you really are lucky" the man said, trying to stop Jack from having any second thought.

'This is my first time here so, it is better if I join a team, in order to familiarize myself but this' looking at the section where the first rule was, jack hesitated.

Noticing where Jack's eyes was focus on, the man quickly added, "don't worry about the one month tenure, any time you want too leave all you have to do is to tell me, then I will stop the contract, that's all, we decided on the one month just to make our team members more committed"

"Oh, I see" Jack became relieved as he took the sheet and a pen from the man, signed it and gave it back to him.

The man showed him were he would met with the other team members, before leaving to do other things, maybe too recruit more members.

Jack kept on walked untill he reached a large tent, with a small signboard at the front of it. On the signboard the words, ▶team haije◀ was written on it.

'This is the place' jack walked into tent, immediately noticing four other people in the tent, a man with a wooden shield, with few pieces of wooden armor around his body, covering his chest, back and the right side of his shoulders, a boy around the age of 15, holding the same knife he had in his inventory, and two girls around the age of 9 and 14.

The four of them also noticed him as he entered, "you are a new member" the man with shield said.

"Yes"

"Hmm." The nodded his head, then focused his attention, somewhere else. It seemed he was the type that does not talk that much.

"Gin" the boy said then turned back to continue playing with his knife.

'Why are all of them not talking, I am having a bad feeling' jack taught in his mind. "My name is jack, it a pleasure to meet you guys" jack said with a weird smile on his face.

"..."

"I would like to know your names" jack spoke again.

"Milia" the girl, that looked around the age of 9 said.

"Kakusa" the other girl said.

"Baduk" the man, with a shield said.

Jack sat down on one of the empty seats and waiting for almost thirty minutes before the man that recruited him came back with another member, a boy around the age of jack, with black scattered hair.

As he saw jack, he eyes opened wide in surprise, he didn't think that he would come in contact with one of his classmate here.

"Jack" the boy said, happliy, as he walk towards jack.

"Uh, Johan, you are also here, ha ha ha, with you i feel more at ease" jack said.

The two chatted for some time but were forced to stop, because it was time for hunting.

"today we will only be entering into the outer part of the forest, because most of you are new and have not gotten used to how things worked here" haije said, as a sword appeared in his hand, the sword was a short sword.

All of them, all understanding, nodded their heads,

"follow me closely" haije said as he left the tent, walking toward the town gate. They all followed him, as he left the town and walked into the forest.

As they walked in the forest, they saw some people, either leaving or entering deeper into the forest.

After walking for about one hour, they finally stopped.

Taking out a small piece of carrot from his inventory, haije threw it on the ground, far away from where they were; he then hid at the back of a tree, the others also followed him hiding at the back of different trees.

After a minute, the sounds of grass rustling was heard as two white rabbits jumped out of the grass, the rabbits had black eyes, with a little part of their stomach having a flame design.

"be careful, those are fire rabbits, they look like they are both at level one, but one of them can kill you newbie’s with just two attacks" haije warned them with a low voice, making sure not to make the rabbits become alert.

The two rabbits not suspecting anything hopped towards the carrot, upon noticing than it was only one piece of carrot that was there, they both increased their speed, trying to overtake the other.

As the fastest rabbit was about the reach the carrot, haije shouted, "go" with that shout his leg stamped the ground shooting him forward with a speed that was a bit more than two times of the rabbits, he shot towards the rabbit at the back, slashing his sword towards the rabbit. "suu" the rabbit divided into two, as blood poured out from the two halfs, haije did not pause as he shot towards the other one.

The other rabbit had already been alerted, it quickly spun to face haije, it opened it mouth as a small ball of fire began to form at the front of its mouth, the fireball was shot out quickly before haije could reach it, forcing haije to dorge to the side, while the fireball shot pass him, shooting towards the six that were following at the back.

"ah" johan shouted as the fireball shot towards him, it speed was to quick, there was no way for him to change direction as he ran, "leave it to me" baduk jumped to his front with the shield in hs hand blocking the fireball.

While that was happening, haije had already killed the remaining rabbit, "this is what I warn you about, when we first meet. the beasts in the forest have ran deeper into the forest because of there are been killed every day by others like us, so in order to find them we now have to walk deeper into the forest, which is where more tougher monsters lay, do you now get what I am saying… WITHOUT A STRONG TEAM LEADER EACH ONE OF YOU COULD EASY DIE ANYTIME, SO YOU SHOULD BE GREATFUL, BE GREATFUL, YOU WERE ALL ALLOWED TO JOIN OUR TEAM"

"so that is why.. you were only trying to help us and I taught you were scamming us for gold" kakusa said nodding her small head,

"yes of course, I was only trying to help, you see, nothing is free in this world, in order to get something you have to lose something too" haije said, with his head high and his hands at his back, like an old man lecturing his grand children.

"let’s keep on moving, I hope we find some weak beasts, so you guys can practice fighting with them" haije said, as his continued walking.

Milia was holding a knife facing a small white rabbit, which was also facing her with it's mouth opened, showing it's sharp teeth, it looked like it was telling her that, she should not come near it, if not she will have it.

Looking at the sharp white teeth in the cute rabbit’s face, Milia was scared that it might really kill her if she came near it. "Milia, we don’t have all time, quickly kill it, it just a level 0 normal rabbit than can’t do anything" haije shouted from far, "I can’t believe she is scared of a level 0 rabbit, that will run once it is given a small cut"

She took one step towards the rabbit, showing the rabbit the knife in her hand, in order to scare the rabbit. The rabbit jumped up wiping it claws in the air, making "chi chi" sounds as it jumped up and down. Milia seem scared as she took two steps back. "the two of them are just scaring themselves" johan said.

The rabbit discovered that the person at it's front was scared of it, it hopped towards her, "ahhh, It will kill me, sister help me" Milia shouted as she turned and ran toward her sister/kakusa, the knife in her hand mistakenly flew out because she wasn’t holding it tight, it flew towards the rabbit, as it stabbed into the ground a few meters from the rabbit.

The rabbit immediately turned around, hopping as fast as it could, until it vanished into the forest..
