Terra

The first match was between Caela and Khione. There wasn't any reason for me to go and watch, so I didn't. I really didn't care either. (Khione won. Like easily. Like it wasn't even worth mentioning. Except to waste time.)

I sat in the locker room, waiting for them to get finished with their mask so I could get into a fight with my girlfriend. I didn't actually know what I would do during the probably very quick fight. I mean, I didn't want to hurt my girlfriend, but also, I didn't want to be hurt by her. Not to mention the second I use her water against her, she'd see me as suspicious. A single type of magic? Common. Two? Uncommon. Three? Not a thing at all. (Okay so a few people have gone past three but that was in the ancient past and they were children of ancients, so they really wouldn't count.)

"What are you planning to do after this fight?" Dione asked.

"I don't know."

"I'd suggest perhaps getting to a more neutral country. Bianca on one side and Swyr on the other."

"Why would he care if I was in the Demon Kingdom."

"I suppose that wouldn't matter, it's more about you spending time around his precious little princess. Sleeping with her even."

"Well, if he never finds out before I get her memories back, then I have nothing to worry about, right?"

"Sure. I'll let you believe that."

"Any updates?"

"Nothing in that head of yours, but that's usual."

"So, Nothing, anything else?"

"I've used the magic sense a few times. There's nothing too odd."

"Too odd?" I ask.

"I mean there are some places you might want to check out, but nothing that I think will help."

"Well, perhaps we should try anyways."

"If you want to."

"Even the smallest chance should be taken, right?"

"Even deep and creepy catacombs under the ground beneath this city?"

"Yes. Any chance."

"Your funeral. So, by the way, are you planning to win?"

"I thought I might just let her win."

"You realize a ring out means you'll be in the moat."

"So?"

"Terra, you can't swim."

"Aw, fuck."

The door to the locker room opened and the man from yesterday told me to come to the field for the finals. I stood up and stretched. Welp, do or die time.

Hayli

"Wow, you sucked." I said as Caela entered the booth with a grinning Khione beside her.

"Excuse me for not being able to dodge being frozen."

"I mean you really should have figure out I was doing something when I kept splash the water up."

"Yeah. Got that from Terra, right?"

"Yep. The best steal or however that goes. So, are you looking forward to your match."

"It's just a fight."

"Yeah, but if you win, you're better than everyone else that didn't."

"She's just nervous about fight her crush."

"Oh, my deities. Shut it."

Caela leaned into me, "I mean if we are to keep an eye on her, a crush on the target is a good excuse, right?"

"And your excuse for Khione?"

"Khione, really?"

"She is really strong too."

"Fine. But I'm not saying I have a crush on her."

"I think she'd be glad about that."

Khione coughed, "You have any plan to fight Terra. I mean she does have ice."

"Oh, I can just use water to melt ice."

"And the wind?"

"Who said she'd have time to attack?"

"Well, good look." She said taking a plate full of tiny bread off the table.

"Speaking of Terra, where is she?"

"The locker room, probably." I replied.

"She really doesn't want to spend time with you. Maybe she has a crush on you."

"I- come on, no. It's probably because she wants to stay focused."

Caela laughed at me, "If believing that helps you, go ahead."

The man walked in once more, and said, "Competitor Faiche, please make your way to the field."

I said farewell to Caela and Khione and made my way out onto the field. The crowd was much larger and louder than yesterday. Terra was stretching on the opposite side of the field. She was really flexible, huh.

The voice boomed, "Ladies and gentlemen, we have quite a popular match among the gamblers in the house tonight. Even our top sponsor is here watching personally himself. The finals of the eight-person tournament are here!"

The crowd screamed in reply.

"Now, before I introduce you all to the powerful mages in the finals how about the rules? The rules are nothing deadly and ring out or surrender for victory! And that's all the rules! That's right, it's a full out fight, no handicaps at all except of course: magic only."

Terra stood up straight and kept stealing looks at me. She swayed side to side and looked nervous.

"Now! First off, the favorite of the bettors, the hydrokinetic heroine, the witch of the waves, Faiche Faioria!"

I waved to the crowd as it cheered for me. None of these people would have anything positive things to say about me outside of here, but as long as I was fighting for their entertainment, such bigotry was forgotten.

"And the girl who knocked out our mayor's angelic daughter, the icy wind of this competitor will chill you to your bones. Welcome all, the trickster witch, Leabaidha Blaith!"

Terra just stared down at her feet as the crowd cheered for her. Cute.

"Now, no need to wait your turn. FIGHT!"

I snapped my fingers and gathered the moat water and sent a blast at Terra from the front and as she was dodging, I sent another from behind to grab her. Instead, she dodged that as well. I gathered the water on the field and sent another blast at Terra. She held out her palm where a... small black dot appeared and the water... just disappeared.

Weird. Was I seeing things? I sent more another blast at her, much larger this time. As it flew towards her, a blast of water came out of another black dot and hit mine, cancelling both of them out.

How the fuck. How the fuck did she just do that? Three magic types? That strange orb? Oh, she was definitely being stalked by me. I mean watched by me.

Terra

"Oh, come on, please let up." I thought dodging a barrage from Hayli.

"You could surrender." Dione suggested.

"No, I couldn't that would just be rude."

"Well, fighting her isn't really working."

I cut off Dione's line to me as I blocked a wave of water from Hayli. My gift from Olli was starting to hurt a little from all the magic I had been absorbing in such a short while. I really hoped it wouldn't do anything weird.

Hayli dashed at me, and I dashed back into a bubble of water. I quickly used the wave I stored to push myself out of it. I could hear Hayli swearing.

"Use your other magics already, Leabaidha." She barked at me.

"Why? Do I need them to beat you?" I teased, "Not like your water will do anything."

Hayli stood straight and snapped again. This time gathering as much water as she could into a ball and started to make streams of water shoot through it until it became a ball of them (I am still unsure what that was supposed to do, except make it look cool.) and tossed it at me. I once more held out my hand, but I couldn't get all of it. So, some still got on me and pushed me back.

Hayli dashed at me, and out of instinct I shot the water back at her. She grabbed it and used it to grab me and pull me towards her. She smiled. "Well, if water doesn't work." Her antenna popped up out of her hair and started glowing.

Shit. Hypnosis, right.

I tried to struggle but couldn't. Hayli grinned as she flicked her finger and tossed me out of the ring and into the moat. And thus, I started to drown.

Hayli

I pulled Terra out of the moat as the crowd cheered. She glared at me as I apologized for sending her into the water while she couldn't move.

"And our victor is Hayli! Her endless barrage finally got advantage of Terra in the end. Now, neither of you two go nowhere, our greatest backer Pembroke Farnsworth wishes to talk to you both."

I helped dry Terra off and scooted closer to her as from the stands a man in a red suit and a tall top came down and greeted us. "Now, now. That was some magic power. I am Pembroke Farnsworth, proprietor of this enterprise. My friend said there'd be some special people come if I built it, and you are some of the most impressive. If either of you lads (FUCK YOU!) would like to become full time fighters. We are thinking of adding sponsors soon."

"I'll consider the offer." I replied.

"And him?" (Fuck you.)

Terra replied, voice growling with anger, "I would rather not. Besides, the Duchess would be made enough at me for trying it out this time?"

"Oh? Worry not, I'm sure I can change Nather's view."

"Then, I too will consider."

"Excellent. Now, a good day to you odd men." (Fuck you.) He said leaving.

Terra and I exited and walked out to the lobby where the other two were waiting. I went and collected the prizes from the front desk.

"Asshole old man." Terra grumbled as I handed her winnings to her.

"Congrats, Hayli. You were pretty cool." Khione said.

"I honestly thought Terra would win."

"I might have if someone hadn't used hypnosis magic."

Caela snickered, "Really, you needed to use that cheat to beat Terra?"

"No. But I was annoyed."

"I nearly drowned."

"I apologized."

"I nearly drowned."

"Would dinner make it up? My treat this time. I seem to have a much fuller purse now."

The other two nodded and Terra sighed, "I would love to."

We made our way back to the same pasta place as last night and sat down as the obscenely large basket of breadstick were sat before us, Caela and Terra digging into them and the dips they came with immediately as well.

"Terra. Why isn't a three-magic doing something more important?" Khione asked.

"Four magic." I corrected.

Terra snapped her head towards me, "Four?"

"Yeah. Wind, Ice, Water and that dark orb you used to cancel my water."

Her gaze went distant again and she sighed, "You must have seen things. Caela, Khione. Did you see any orbs?"

They shook their heads. I frowned, okay I knew what I saw but I knew when not to push things.

"So, what are y'all planning to do around here?" Khione asked.

"Well, I was going to just watch tournaments and maybe go on jogs around the local woods." Caela said. "Unless something comes up."

"Oh, so you'll be watching a lot of me then. And you, Hayli?"

"Well, I don't know. Terra? What are you doing?"

"Exploring the catacombs under the town."

"Oh, then I'll just join you."

Terra's face grew bright red. "W-why?"

"Nothing better to do. Is that a problem?"

Terra shook her head vigorously, "N-no, no. It's fine."

I smiled, "Good."

Caela and Khione were whispering to each other. I was pretty sure it was more bullshit about me having a crush on Terra or her on me. It was getting old. Well, Terra was clearly nervous around me, and she was cute so, as Caela and I agreed: Time to play into it.

I scooted closer to Terra, letting my tail wrap around her legs. She glanced down as my scales touched her. She shook her head and returned to her breadstick devouring. We ordered our meals and through the rest of the dinner I continued to see if Terra would tell me to stop touching her with my tail. She never did. Well, she didn't mind contact. If I needed to hug her to hypnotize her, she might not mind. And of course, I would get to hug a cute girl, which was quite the bonus.

Terra

We came back to the room and Caela went into the bathroom first and locked us out. I sighed sitting down on the bed with Hayli. She leaned on me a bit. What was she up to? If she didn't remember me, I could only assume whatever she was doing her, she thought I was part of it, and she needed to keep me close, and this was clearly just her way of making it harder for me to care. And it was working, because I am very gay.

"Hayli, why are you leaning on me?"

"Oh! Sorry. I'm just exhausted."

"Then lie down. On the pillows."

"But then I might fall asleep."

"And I might not be motorboated in mine."

"Not with that attitude."

"I can see why Quaza sent you away, you'd be in jail back in the Capitol by now."

"Where are you from, by the way. I'm from Hill Valley."

"Oh, well... my birthplace isn't there anymore. But I grew up the rest of the way in the Duchess's domain."

"Oh, so you'd know that twink- I mean the Hero Vern?"

"Yeah, you could say I 'know' the hero Vern."

"What about his shield? Earth, I think?"

I felt my eye twitch in annoyance at hearing my deadname. "Oh, I suppose I am tragically intertwined with that person. But he's dead now."

"Really? The humans are going to be mad about that."

"Well, he's dead but I'm alive."

Hayli looked at me confused, "Okay, do you know where the catacombs are?"

"Nope."

"How to get into them?"

"Not at all."

"Are there even catacombs?"

"Yeah. I felt them."

"Felt?"

"Uhm, I mean I heard about them from someone, but I didn't hear where the entrance is."

"Well, I guess we'll just have to find it."

"If you want to."

"I do. It'll be like a date."

Caela unlocked the door wrapped in five towels like a mummy and let us both in as she went to her own bed. Hayli stripped down in front of me and I found it hard to fake embarrassment at seeing someone I had already had sex with naked. I stripped too which made Hayli grow red as she looked quickly away.

"Shower or bath?" I asked.

"Bath. You could join me in it if you also wanted to bathe."

She was so bad at acting natural.

"I would but that's more a sixth date type of thing."

Hayli giggled, "Well, enjoy the shower, Terra."

I rolled my eyes. Hayli was horny enough when we were actually dating, but this forced horny Hayli was fucking worse. I mean I didn't mind it, but still it was hard to not put my face in my hands and start grumbling. I showered fast, and after awkwardly asking if Hayli would dry me off while trying to hold the towel in front of me. I crawled into bed and closed my eyes until once again, and as I had come to expect, I would wake up being wrapped by Hayli's tail before having to deal with her while searching for the entrance to an underground burial ground I wasn't sure was anything worth looking for at all.
