Self-insert into a fantasy land! Cause’ why not?

I lay in my bed quietly scrolling through my phone while I should be sleeping. My mind was overflowing with constantly shifting vision of fantasy lands and tales of adventure, love, and woe. I put the phone down and rest my head on my pillow...
Then I turn around 20 more times until I'm satisfied.
All the while the visions continue as I fall asleep. They get more vivid growing alarming so. They are more real then any before them and suddenly I find myself standing in a forest. It's a dark forest with massive old growth trees and one singular ape staring at me shocked. It all looked so real I couldn't belive it. I reached out to touch the now angry looking ape.
Then he bitch slapped me and I realized this wasn't a dream.
