The Ascended know no peace

In this world, people of any race and species, wake, only to see they are somewhere they do not remember. Many do not remember anything from their past lives, yet they can sense, that something is wrong. For one person, it might be that their bodies now have additional body parts, ones they are not familiar with. For others, it might be the fact they now have abilities they never had in the first place. At least, many, who wake up near settlements are quickly filled in, on what are the rules of this world. In those settlements live humans, demi-humans, monster-humans, and mystic humans. Humans who live average lives, long as much as 50 to 90 years, are the majority in these villages, towns, and cities,for their need to procreate is higher then other humanoid creature, because of their lifespan. Demi-humans live from 100 years up to 160 years of age, thanks to the resistances their alightly animalistic bloodline gives them. Monster-humans will live up to 200 or even 300 years of age, all because one of their parents is a monster. Mostly dragons shapeshifted into humans go upon the other races, yet there are people with other species as their parent. Lastly the mystic humans, are beings, which are beautiful in an ethereal, non-human way, who live either to 1000 years, or are immortal. Yet there are the Ascendants, about who I have told you at the start. They are nigh immortal, as their are killable, yet they will regenerate from almoat any wound or injury. Of course the only way to kill them is to completely, sever their head, or destroy their bodies. They are immortal, even if they are humans, demi-humans, or monster-humans.
