23-year old college student Jaeden Kanemoto is your run of the mill otaku who loves to read. Life seems to be going steadily for Kanemoto until suddenly- his favorite novel unexpectedly ends with a bad ending.
Kanemoto expects the entertainment in his life to only go downhill from there until he receives a message from the author- who offers him a reward for completing his novel, asking if he wanted to see the “true” ending of the novel.
